Story
Hi, I’m Chewie! I’m an 11-year-old pup with a youthful spirit and a heart full of love. At just 16 pounds, I’m the perfect size for lap cuddles, backyard zoomies, and everything in between. I’m a smart cookie—potty trained, crate trained, and always eager to please. I listen well and love making my humans happy. Whether it’s chasing toys, soaking up the sun, or flopping over for a belly rub, I bring joy to every moment. I’ve got a gentle soul and a playful streak, and I never say no to attention or snuggles. I’m happiest in a cat-free home, and while I haven’t spilled the beans on how I feel about other dogs just yet, I’d appreciate slow introductions to help me feel safe and comfortable. Also, I am a bit of a door darter, so you'll need to be careful around open doors.  If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate buddy who’ll be your sunshine and your snuggle bug, I’m your guy. Let’s make some memories together! My adoption fee is $100, but if you are a senior yourself (65+), my adoption fee is waived. Chewie takes Vetmedin which costs approximately $60 per month.   Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts! We are always looking for good foster homes. These homes allow us to rescue more Boston Terriers in need because we have a place for them to go until they are adopted. Please consider becoming a foster home for Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas. You can fill out a foster application at Foster Application | Boston Terrier Rescue Of North Texas. This will allow you to possibly become a foster home for one of our little Boston Terriers in need. Story
Hi there! My name is Alex, and I’m a 1-year-old Boston Terrier boy weighing in at 16 pounds of pure love. I may be small, but I’ve got a big heart and the sweetest spirit you’ll ever meet. My favorite place in the world is snuggled up under the covers with my humans. I’m happiest when I’m close, soaking up all the love. I’m gentle and easygoing with other dogs, as long as they are not dominant,  and I love making new friends. Even though I’m crate trained and know how to use the doggy door, I still act like a puppy at times—playful, silly, and full of energy. I am still working on my house training as well. Walking on a leash is new to me, but I’m eager to learn, and with patience and encouragement I’ll be your perfect walking buddy. I adore all toys, and I have a special fondness for soft blankets that I can suck on—it’s my little comfort habit. I’m looking for a family who will cherish my cuddly nature, guide me as I continue my training, and share in all the joy I bring. If you’re searching for a gentle, playful, and affectionate companion, I think we’d be a perfect match. I will do fine with children.  My adoption fee is $450. Available early January. Story
Hello there. My name is Murphy, and I am a 15-year-old lil boy who weighs 22 pounds. I am so lucky this wonderful rescue came and saved me; I did not grow up in a very nice environment. I am a particular little guy; I like to do things on my own terms. I do not like to be forced to do things which makes me upset and nip. I also do not like to share toys or food. I want to be the leader, so I need to be the only dog in the house. I am still learning how to be a dog and still working on my house training and my manners. I do have some hearing loss and need kidney care food because of my age. I absolutely love to be outside and play with stuffies. My ideal home would a person who can teach me manners and who is willing to help me be a better guy. My adoption fee is $100, but if you are a senior yourself (65+), my adoption fee is waived. Must be an only dog. No children. Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts! NOTE:  Hospice fosters have ongoing medical needs that will require care for the rest of their lives. While they remain available for adoption, we carefully screen potential homes to ensure their medical and special needs can be fully supported. BTRNT is committed to providing these dogs with a loving forever home—whether that is through adoption or as a permanent hospice foster within our rescue. We are always looking for good foster homes. Story
Hi! My name is TJ and oh boy do I love to play ball! I am a very loving and happy 36 pound 5 year old boy. I am housetrained and crate trained. I have lots of energy and would love a home with an active family. Because of my energy, my foster mom says older kids might be best for me. I am also very protective of my food so I need a family or owner who understands that and how to work with that. I am selective of my doggie friends so, I would do best with a home without dogs. My ideal family would be one who loves to play with me and are looking for a handsome, gentle boy. The most important thing in my life is finding my forever home and family. MUST BE ONLY DOG. My adoption fee is $350. Thank you for supporting our rescue efforts!  We are always looking for good foster homes. Story
Hi, I’m Gatsby, a friendly and loving 11 year old gentleman, around 45 lbs. I’m great with dogs and love to be around people. I’m always up for belly rubs, and if you stop petting me, I’ll paw at your hand to let you know I want more! Even at my age, I still get around great—jumping up on the couch without any issues, and I’m very active and spry for 10. I’m house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. I enjoy spending time with my people and following the pack when they go outside. I do have some allergies, but they’re under control now. While I don’t love car rides, I do enjoy short walks, though I’m more of a relaxed guy most of the time. My ideal home would be one where I’m not left alone too much. A yard and a doggie door would be great, but more than anything, I want to be close to you! I’m the perfect couch potato companion. My adoption fee is $100, but if you are a senior yourself (65+) my adoption fee is waived. Thank you for supporting our rescue efforts!    We are always looking for good foster homes. Story
Meet Myla – The Sweetest Brindle Frenchie Looking for Her Happily Ever After  At just 2½ years old and 25 pounds of pure love, Myla is a beautiful brindle French Bulldog with a heart as big as her soulful eyes. Despite everything she’s been through, she remains gentle, loving, and full of joy. Myla came to us after being used for breeding, where her health and comfort were sadly neglected. Her severe cauliflower ears are the result of untreated allergies and chronic ear infections that were left untreated to worsen. Thankfully, a caring family member reached out for help — and now Myla is safe, loved, and finally receiving the medical care she’s always deserved from LHS and doing great in her foster home. Myla came to Legacy Humane Society with a condition known as cauliflower ear, which developed from a chronic, untreated ear infection. This has caused some hearing loss, but we are hopeful that her hearing may improve if our initial treatment plan is successful. LHS is currently treating her ears, and she’s responding. While she may always have a few cosmetic scars from her past, her spirit shines brighter than ever. The first stage of treatment involves medicating the ear canal every other week using a syringe. This process will continue through January 22, 2026, with regular evaluations along the way to monitor her progress and make any necessary adjustments to her care plan. If there is no significant improvement by that date, the next step will be a total ear canal ablation surgery performed by a specialist. Because this is a pre-existing condition, Legacy Humane Society will cover all costs associated with her treatment until the issue is fully resolved. Visit this website to learn more about the ear ablation surgery:  https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/total-ear-canal-ablation-and-bulla-osteotomy-tecabo Myla’s personality is as lovely as her smile — she’s quiet, playful, and adores cuddles. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and everyone she meets. She walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, fluffy toys, and of course, treats and snuggles! Now, Myla is looking for what she’s never truly had — a forever family who will love her for who she is, not for what she can produce. She deserves a home filled with kindness, warmth, and a lifetime of belly rubs. If you have room in your heart and home for this precious girl, please complete an adoption application. Myla’s foster mom would love to share more about her journey and ongoing ear care and will reach out. The adoption fee is $275.00 and covers her spay, vaccinations, de-wormer, first dose of heartworm preventative and microchip. Please apply at: http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Help us show Myla that her best days are just beginning — because every dog deserves a life full of love.  Myla is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, Heartworm negative and microchipped.   We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
