Our new friend Maple is looking for a new place to call home. She was adopted about 4 months ago from the Modesto Shelter, but due to her energetic breed mix, the new owner did not realize she would not be able to balance new dog training with 2 small children and felt it would be more fair to find a better match. Maple enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely do well in a home where someone can give her more to do and maybe a friend to play with. She is a friendly girl who has already been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is only 45 pounds, but can knock over little ones accidentally, so sturdy kids preferred! Maple rides well in the car and knows some basic obedience commands. She is about 3 years old and is potty trained as well. She is a mixed breed, guessing she is Boxer, Pit and Pointer, but just a guess. Her little stub tail is adorable! She will make a great pet for someone with time to have a dog. Despite her size, she is convinced she’s a lap dog and would happily spend her days curled up on the couch snuggling with you. She’s a total couch potato who enjoys relaxing, cuddling, and being close to her family.She has done well with small dogs and enjoys having human companionship. She is house trained and knows basic commands.Important: She should not be placed in a home with cats or other small animals due to her prey drive. I want to make sure she is set up for success in the right environment.She does have to take medicine for a hormone imbalance which cost $12/month. This is not a decision I have made lightly.
