Story
Meet Betty 🩷 Betty is a young boxer/pit mix with the sweetest soul and so much love to give. Betty’s story started out heartbreaking — she was found abandoned in a remote dumping area near Stockton, scared and unsure of people after clearly going through more than any dog ever should. Since being rescued, Betty has come so far. Once she feels safe, her goofy, loving personality starts to shine. She is energetic, playful, and loves treats, but also knows how to settle down for a good nap. Betty gets along well with other dogs and has never shown aggression — she simply wants love, reassurance, and someone to play with. Betty is spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her forever family. She would do best with someone patient who will continue helping her build confidence and show her what a safe, loving home feels like. After everything she’s been through, Betty deserves a family who will never let her down again. Could that be you?

Story
Meet Ginger 🐾 Ginger came into our lives after COVID, when we wanted to give our young son a friend to grow up alongside. From day one, she understood her job: to love and to protect. She's been the gentlest of guardians. When our son was a wobbly toddler, Ginger was endlessly patient — never too rough, always watchful, content to be climbed on, leaned against, and adored. She grew up right beside him. Despite being much larger than our cats, Ginger has always treated them with the softest heart. She shares her space, minds her manners, and has never once made them feel anything but safe. She's proof that size has nothing to do with gentleness. Now our family is facing a move that means we can't bring Ginger with us, and it breaks our hearts. She deserves a home that will cherish her as much as we have. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, gentle soul to protect and adore your family, Ginger is ready to give you her whole heart. 💛

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Izzy (short for Isabella because I’m so bella!)   ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a gorgeous girl!    HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on November 29, 2018.
WHAT BREED ARE YOU? Just the most perfect Boxer/Pit Bull mix! HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m 80 pounds of pure love!  WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m a classic, fawn Boxer beauty with soulful brown eyes and natural black eyeshadow.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I’ll pretty much eat anything but have a soft spot for cheese! Can you blame me, though? Cheese is life! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am goofy and playful but also love a good cuddle sesh. I’m loyal to my humans and adore little kids!  DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: Oh that’s easy! My perfect day would start with a long walk, popping some bubbles or chasing a ball, then some quality couch time with my humans, followed by a nice long nap. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything that squeaks will not squeak for very long when I get my paws on it!  DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I’m good with the basics, sit, stay, leave it, and wait! I am very food motivated, so if you want me to learn more, bring on the treats! WHAT SCARES YOU? On leash, I am sometimes nervous about other dogs, so I tend to react to tell them to stay away from me and my human!   HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I LOVE children, especially little ones! I am so tolerant of their shenanigans, although I appreciate when my humans step in when they start to get a little handsy with me!  DO YOU LIKE CATS? Oh, no thanks. I’ll pass on cats!  HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? With slow, structured introductions, I should be alright with large dogs, but I do not want little dogs in my space. As I mentioned earlier, I can get uncomfortable with some dogs when on leash. I’m practicing and getting better, treats can help!    IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? It doesn’t matter where I am as long as we’re together. Right beside my human is the best place in the world!  HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m very healthy!   WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with two adults and two children under five years old. My foster mom is my super-favorite person in the world right now, although those littles sure are a lot of fun!   WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I chill. Sometimes on the couch, sometimes on the floor. I take myself out and like to find cool spots in the house.   WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Pretty flexible! Couch, floor, dog bed. A crate if I must, but I like crates the least. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? A leash means walks! I love walking on a leash!    DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Sometimes when I’m on leash I have a hard time telling between friend or foe. Even though I’m big, that doesn’t stop me from acting like a puppy. I am willing to learn, so let’s spend some time working together and have some fun bonding while you teach me what you want me to do!   ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yes, I am! No problems there! Make sure you tell me where and I’ll stick to it.   DO YOU LIKE WATER? I’m not much of a swimmer but I love getting in the water and playing with the hose. Maybe you can teach me how to swim?   WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love spending time with my foster family, especially all the cuddles. The best is when I get to hang out with the kids. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I’m SO ready to start the next phase of my life with my forever family! Let’s do this! **IZZY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.** If you are interested in adopting Izzy, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio! Cheerio is estimated to be just under 2 years old. She is a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She is the cuddle master and thinks that naps are way better with a buddy. She is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. Cheerio weighs about 64lbs and is fully grown. Cheerio came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter. She was found as a stray, and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly were able to find a foster home to take her in, and she has been settling in well since coming to us. Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets a new person, but she is quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Cheerio has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cheerio has been doing great with her housetraining. Cheerio has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods, but very much prefers it when one of her foster family members can work from home. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate. Cheerio is such a fantastic dog, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Cheerio's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. July 10, 2026, 12:22 pm

Story
Zeus is very smart and playful, he loves toys and learns routines quickly. Zeus loves to play chase and tug anytime. He is learning his manners well, but he still barks and gets excited easily so he may do best somewhere he has a little space to play on his own. He is very friendly with other people, he wants to play and will go get his toys and attempt to engage you in tug of war. He likes to chase balls but is still learning “drop”. If you have a couple toys to alternate with, he will fetch. He loves belly rubs. Zeus loves his treats but is pretty mellow about mealtimes. He will take food from your hand gently. We give him food 3 times a day and he often eats it slowly throughout the day, he doesn’t gobble food or overeat. When we need to give him pills he will eat a spoon of peanut butter with meds with no problem. Zeus crates well; he will go in there easily if you point inside and often takes naps in there on his own. His foster parents are home a lot so he is a little spoiled with attention, but he is used to being in his crate alone for a few hours at a time. He is both affectionate and sometimes self-sufficient. He likes to be with you or cuddle, and he also seems comfortable napping in the ‘other’ room. We have not tested Zeus with cats but he has a strong chase/hunt instinct and always goes after birds or squirrels. Zeus is sweet but he does get excited and can jump or be a rough player. He is learning not to jump up so much, but he does seem to like standing up on his hind legs. He is also pretty vocal when he is playing

Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

Meet Moose! He is extremely playful and a really good boy. He loves being social. He is not a fan of cats but gets along great with other dogs. He loves to run around with the kids.
