Our new friend Maple is looking for a new place to call home. She was adopted about 4 months ago from the Modesto Shelter, but due to her energetic breed mix, the new owner did not realize she would not be able to balance new dog training with 2 small children and felt it would be more fair to find a better match. Maple enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely do well in a home where someone can give her more to do and maybe a friend to play with. She is a friendly girl who has already been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is only 45 pounds, but can knock over little ones accidentally, so sturdy kids preferred! Maple rides well in the car and knows some basic obedience commands. She is about 3 years old and is potty trained as well. She is a mixed breed, guessing she is Boxer, Pit and Pointer, but just a guess. Her little stub tail is adorable! She will make a great pet for someone with time to have a dog. Sweet Goose is ready to fly into your heart! This adorable medium-sized pup, born on April 5, 2025, is as wonderful as she is resilient. Her microchip tells us a story - she was adopted as just a small puppy by at Stockton Animal Shelter. We don't know why she was found wandering all by herself at just 6 months old - mere months after being promised a forever home - but she's here safe with us until she finds her new family. Her love of people never wavered, but we hope she never has to experience a broken promise ever again. She currently weighs 40 lbs and is still filling out. Her breed mix is unknown, but her appearance has a Basenji-Boxer look. She is a unique beauty. She has the silliest little bouncy walk and is curious about everyone she meets. She plays very well with the dogs here at the shelter. She is already microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. Austin is a precious puppy with a story that tugs at the heartstrings. Sadly left in a crate with only a bowl of water, this little trooper was rescued by compassionate individuals who brought him to us in hopes of finding him his perfect home. He was in a home briefly and was excited to become a permanent part of the family, but unfortunately the resident dog in the home did not want a new sibling and was not welcoming to poor Austin. We're told Austin is great with kids aged 9 and up and gets along well with other dogs (he's just a pup, so naturally is the case). He is a fantastic student and is making great strides in housetraining - with prompting, he knows exactly what to do! He's been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.
