She has had little to no training yet, so her new family should be prepared to start with the basics — house training, leash skills, basic manners, socialization, and learning how to settle in the home. Raising a puppy takes time, patience, consistency, and plenty of supervision. During this important developmental stage, she needs people who are home at least every two hours throughout the day for potty breaks, guidance, companionship, and opportunities to learn. Puppy classes are strongly encouraged, both for training and continued socialization. As she grows, her exercise and activity needs will increase, so her family should be prepared to provide regular walks, age-appropriate exercise, mental enrichment, and ongoing training as she matures. Elara is at the very beginning of her journey, and with the right guidance, she’ll have every opportunity to grow into a wonderful adult companion.
