Story
WATCH MY VIDEO...Sandy is a beautiful 4-year-old tan Boxer mix with a calm, loving personality that makes her incredibly easy to adore. She was previously adopted from us, but sadly returned because she and the other dog in the home were not the right match. Sometimes personalities between dogs just don’t click, and through no fault of her own, Sandy found herself back at the shelter looking for a new beginning. Since being back with us, Sandy has impressed our staff and trainers with what a genuinely good and friendly dog she is. She’s not overly energetic or demanding. in fact, she’s happiest relaxing in the sunshine, soaking up belly rubs, and spending quiet time with her people. She walks wonderfully on leash, appears to be housetrained, comes when called, and has an affectionate, easygoing nature that would make her a fantastic companion for a first-time dog owner. Sandy enjoys treats, likes toys, and will play interactively with you, but she’s definitely more of a relaxed companion than a nonstop athlete. She’s confident without being pushy, affectionate without being clingy. She simply has a sweet, steady temperament that makes being around her feel easy. While Sandy seems to like other dogs, she may be selective about her canine friends, so a dog meet would be important if there is already another dog in the home. What she truly wants most, though, is a family who will love her for the wonderful dog she is and give her the stability she deserves. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate, low-key companion who will happily join you for walks, cuddle sessions, and sunny afternoons, Sandy may be the perfect fit for your family.

Story
WATCH MY VIDEO...Meet Kane, a 9 month old Shepherd mix with the cutest underbite and an even sweeter personality! One look at his adorable smile and loving eyes, and you’ll instantly fall in love. Kane previously had a family who loved him very much, but sadly his owner passed away. He then went to live with another family member, but their cat was not accepting of the new addition and frequently attacked him. Despite being treated unfairly, Kane showed just how gentle and kind he is by never reacting negatively toward the cat. Wanting the best for him, his family made the difficult decision to surrender him so he could find a peaceful home where he can truly thrive. His family shared that Kane is wonderful with adults, children as young as two years old, dogs, and even cats. He is housebroken, playful, treat motivated, and loves toys. He also enjoys car rides and is happy to curl up on the couch right next to his favorite people after playtime. Since being with us, Kane has completely charmed the staff. During one visit, he spent about 90% of the time happily sitting on a lap because all he wants is to be close to you. He loves treats, attention, affection, and being part of whatever you’re doing. He is friendly, loving, and has the kind of loyal personality that makes him feel like an instant best friend. Kane is ready to leave the shelter behind and start his next chapter with a family who will cherish his sweet heart, goofy smile, and endless love.

Story
Rocky.Rocky is a 3-year-old neutered Boxer/American Bulldog mix who has been with me since he was only six weeks old. He is healthy, up to date on veterinary care, and deeply loved.Rocky is a very loyal, affectionate, and obedient dog with the people he knows and trusts. He enjoys playing fetch with his favorite ball, follows me around the house, and has been a cherished member of my family for his entire life.Unfortunately, Rocky struggles with fear-based reactivity. He can become reactive toward strangers, some dogs, and especially cats. Because of his size and strength, managing these behaviors has become increasingly difficult for me.I want to be completely honest about his behavioral challenges because my goal is to find the best possible outcome for him. Despite these issues, Rocky is not a dangerous dog living in constant aggression. He is a dog who needs an experienced handler, structure, management, and an environment.

Story
Meet Tula Baloola! A joyful almost four-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Canton, NC, whose lively spirit and sleek black coat with a bright white chest patch make every day feel like a celebration. Tula is a medium sized girl who weighs about 50 pounds and carries herself with the athletic bounce of a dog who loves movement, connection, and fun with her favorite people. Her greeting style is unforgettable, full body tail wags, happy wiggles, and an enthusiastic little 'arrrooooo' that sounds like she simply must tell you how excited she is to see you! Playtime is high on Tula's list of favorite activities, especially a good game of fetch followed by snuggles close to her favorite human. After a day filled with walks, play, and learning opportunities she happily curls up beside her person for cozy rest, sometimes sharing soft snores that sound like the sweetest white noise. Tula is smart, attentive, and eager to learn with positive reinforcement. She already knows sit, down, leave it, focus, and has excellent recall, which makes training sessions fun and rewarding for everyone involved. Her velcro style affection means she loves staying close to her people, whether that means joining a car ride, heading out on an adventure, or relaxing at home. Because Tula has a strong prey drive, she needs a home without cats or small animals where she can relax and focus on her people and activities she enjoys most. She is friendly with strangers, wonderful with children, and would thrive in a caring environment with an active individual or family who enjoys daily adventures. Tula can sometimes become reactive when separated from other dogs by barriers, particularly when dogs pass by a chain link fence. In those moments her excitement and frustration can bubble over, and she has occasionally redirected that energy toward the other resident dog. The interactions have not caused injury, and the other dog has responded with appropriate communication, helping guide those moments. With thoughtful management and continued positive reinforcement, Tula continues learning calmer ways to handle these situations. With her playful energy, big heart, and talent for enthusiastic conversations, Tula brings laughter, companionship, and warmth wherever she goes. If you are looking for a loyal cuddle partner, workout buddy, and cheerful shadow who loves deeply every single day, Tula may be ready to join your life! Could Tula Baloola be the lively cuddle partner and adventure companion ready to join your family’s next chapter?
