Story
Meet Tula Baloola! A joyful almost four-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Canton, NC, whose lively spirit and sleek black coat with a bright white chest patch make every day feel like a celebration. Tula is a medium sized girl who weighs about 50 pounds and carries herself with the athletic bounce of a dog who loves movement, connection, and fun with her favorite people. Her greeting style is unforgettable, full body tail wags, happy wiggles, and an enthusiastic little 'arrrooooo' that sounds like she simply must tell you how excited she is to see you! Playtime is high on Tula's list of favorite activities, especially a good game of fetch followed by snuggles close to her favorite human. After a day filled with walks, play, and learning opportunities she happily curls up beside her person for cozy rest, sometimes sharing soft snores that sound like the sweetest white noise. Tula is smart, attentive, and eager to learn with positive reinforcement. She already knows sit, down, leave it, focus, and has excellent recall, which makes training sessions fun and rewarding for everyone involved. Her velcro style affection means she loves staying close to her people, whether that means joining a car ride, heading out on an adventure, or relaxing at home. Tula is friendly with strangers, wonderful with children, and enjoys the company of other dogs. She recently spent several days with an experienced dog sitter who cares for multiple dogs and kittens, and she did very well with both. The sitter observed that Tula appears interested in being friends with cats and may simply lack feline social skills rather than having any desire to harm them. With thoughtful introductions and guidance, Tula has shown encouraging signs that she can peacefully coexist with other animals. She would thrive in a caring environment with an active individual or family who enjoys daily adventures. Tula can sometimes become reactive when separated from other dogs by barriers, particularly when dogs pass by a chain link fence. In those moments her excitement and frustration can bubble over, and she has occasionally redirected that energy toward the other resident dog. The interactions have not caused injury, and the other dog has responded with appropriate communication, helping guide those moments. With thoughtful management and continued positive reinforcement, Tula continues learning calmer ways to handle these situations. Despite these occasional moments of frustration around barriers, Tula has demonstrated that she can do very well with other dogs in appropriate settings and enjoys having canine companions around her. With her playful energy, big heart, and talent for enthusiastic conversations, Tula brings laughter, companionship, and warmth wherever she goes. If you are looking for a loyal cuddle partner, workout buddy, and cheerful shadow who loves deeply every single day, Tula may be ready to join your life! Could Tula Baloola be the lively cuddle partner and adventure companion ready to join your family’s next chapter? Ace is the kind of dog that makes your dog -less neighbors want a dog of their own. He is a poster child for playful, fun and well-adjusted pups and he is able to light up a room just by being in it. Ace is universally friendly and never met a stranger. His dog sitter told us he felt like he already k ew Ace even when they first met . Ace is a fun, adventurous guy but he also loves naps and a comfy couch. He calls himself versatile. Ace is popular with other dogs, shares well and always says thank you with a little luck or a nudge of your leg. He’s the dog who makes an amazing impression and makes you wish you could spend longer with him . He is a gem.

Story
Smiling Sammy! Meet this [age] old, [weight] Black Mouth Cur / Boxer mix with a sweet, people-oriented nature. She is very tuned in to the energy around her and takes her cues from her humans — calm environments bring out her relaxed, gentle side, while playtime brings out her happy zoomies. She would thrive in a low-key home with adults where people enjoy a balanced routine. She doesn’t need heavy exercise, but she does enjoy daily walks and the occasional burst of play to get her wiggles out. Once she’s had that, she’s content to settle and be close to her people. She is very smart and knows many commands plus she's potty trained and crate trained. She’s best suited to someone who understands that dogs like her do well when humans set a calm, confident tone. She is an affectionate, steady companion who wants to belong and be part of everyday life. You can follow Sammy's adventures and fall in love with her on Instagram at @sammy.apr. To meet sweet Sammy, please fill out an adoption application at abandonedpetrescue.org Sammy is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and ready for adoption at Abandoned Pet Rescue - a no-kill shelter in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Story
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a loving temporary home for my dog, Lucky. Lucky is just over 1 year old. I've had him since he was about 5 months old, when he was gifted to me by a former neighbor. He is a very sweet, affectionate, and loving dog who enjoys being around people. He's very calm and relaxed, but when he's excited, he's full of energy, loves to jump, and wags his tail nonstop. Lucky has spent most of his life as an indoor dog, so he's used to being in a home environment. He doesn't have much experience around other animals. I'm only looking for a temporary for a few months. I recently moved, and my current landlord does not allow pets and has threatened to evict me if Lucky stays. My hope is to find a pet-friendly place as soon as possible.

Story
Brady is a super friendly boy who is all about fun, play, and affection. He is a happy, energetic, spirited boy, usually with his tail wagging, who loves to be with people and share his zest for life. Brady adores every minute of attention and playtime, loves to play fetch and be silly with toys. He enjoys back rubs, belly rubs, and hugs, and walks nicely on a leash.             It’s truly a shame that Brady has been at the rescue for 6 years and is now about 10 years old (and 55-60 pounds).  However, despite his age, Brady is in good condition and has the spunk and energy of a young dog. He would love a new parent who will hang out with him a lot and engage in lots of playtime. Brady must be the only pet in his new home as he is aggressive towards other dogs. Please watch the video at the end of the photos to see how much fun and how entertaining Brady is. If you believe you are the right person for Brady, and would love to share your life and have some great times with him, please put in an application today. March 14, 2026, 3:23 pm
