Story
Looking for the sweetest boy in town? It's Andy. Andy is 41 pounds and about six years old. His breed is unknown, but he might have a little bit of Boxer mixed in with Greyhound? We're not certain, but his brindle and white markings are beautiful. During his time in Camp K-9 at the Kentucky State Reformatory, Andy showed his love for other dogs. He loves to play. He does not want to share his home with cats however! Andy should be fine in a home with children. He is house trained and crate trained, and sleeps comfortably in his crate. Andy does show some nerves in new situations, but once he settles in, he will be your best friend.

Story
LACEY is a 3-year-old female Boxer mix who weighs 55 lbs. She recently come into our program, and she's an instant favorite! She is unique in so many ways. She has the appearance of a Boxer, yet her coat indicates something else. It is velvety soft and plush. She is heavily speckled all over, like a Spaniel. Most of all, she has a personality that grabs you right away. She is that charming! She smiles and will readily give hugs and kisses! LACEY is a Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program Graduate! She is crate, leash and house-trained. She knows "sit," "stay," "down," and "come." So far, her social skills are good. She's met many inmates, in addition to her own, and she's got a wag and a hug for any of them. Lacey would prefer to be the only pet in the home but could be okay with a submissive male dog with proper introductions. Her overall energy level is moderate, and, in our world, that's a huge plus! Her perfect home? A fenced yard with an active family. If interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of OUR online application which can be found at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com. Additional adoption FAQ's can be found there also. Meets will be set with approved applicants. Thank you!

Story
ROMEO is a 2 year old male, boxer mix. He adopted out as a puppy and was returned when his energy level was underestimated. ROMEO just loves life and everything in it! He is super excited to meet people. And if you look close, he's got a cute, little underbite. We put him through our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program to help curb his enthusiasm a little. He has passed all basic obedience tests but he does it with a wag and a wiggle. He gets along great with other dogs. He will do best in an adult home with older children. He's not that big at 45 lbs but he might overpower smaller children. He would greatly benefit from a fenced yard. There is nothing like a game of fetch to burn off the energy. ROMEO's ADOPTION FEES ARE WAIVED! If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Romeo's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!

Story
OSCAR is a 7 year old male boxer/hound mix. He currently weighs 52 lbs. Like so many others this year, he was found wandering alone. A kind person took him in to keep him safe. They fostered him for 6 weeks before handing him off to Adopt Me! This gave us valuable information on Oscar. He co-existed nicely with two other dogs and their child. He was left free in the house and never destroyed anything. He came housetrained. All this adds up to - he was someone's pet before being dumped. In order to find out every little quirk, we enrolled OSCAR in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. Like the other dogs in the program, he thoroughly enjoys the one on one attention he gets from his inmate. He is learning his obedience quickly and is very food motivated. As for his social skills, he's doing well there too. For his age, he still has plenty of pep. He has a beautiful brindle coat and a bit of graying around his muzzle. Just enough to make him look distinguished. He is not fond of cats and would rather be an only dog. He was in foster with other dogs and did okay after slow introductions. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Oscar's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Story
Meet ROVER!! He and his cute siblings came to us from Eastern KY. They are now ready for their forever homes! We were told that mama is a boxer mix and dad was Cur mix, but your guess is as good as ours! They have the most unique coloring and are all love snuggles! Rover is looking for a home that will be patient with his "puppy stage. This includes crate training, potty training and socialization! We expect him to be a medium size at full maturity! If you're interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of OUR online application at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com, or email us if you submitted an application within the last six months. We review and schedule meets (with approved applicants only) based on the order received. Keep in mind she is 9-weeks-old with a life expectancy of up to 15 years. Our guiding principle for adoptions is to seek the right fit for family and for dog, including a home that can stay committed to her for life.

The results are in the photos!) Adopt this girl!   CARE's adoption fee is $250 for dogs/puppies and $100 for cats/kittens and an additional $150 neuter deposit will be required for any animals adopted prior to their spay/neuter surgery (and the deposit will be refunded when the approved adopter brings the animal to his/her CARE vet appointment in COLUMBUS, INDIANA once scheduled).
