Story
Bruce came to TJO after having been crated the majority of his life, he has been excited to explore the world around him and make friends with everyone he meets.OTHER PETS: Bruce did well meeting other dogs; he was social and playful and did well with dogs of differing energy levels. As with all our dogs, Bruce should meet and dog he would be living with prior to adoption. [Likely (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Bruce needs an owner who can provide a structured routine, exercise, and training; if not provided with regular opportunities for fun, this dog will find his own fun at your expense![Some Experience]KIDS: Bruce is friendly and outgoing but is also learning to not be so jumpy, he gets carried away and could accidently hurt a smaller human. [15+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Bruce will need daily walks and after some time working with him, would be an excellent adventure companion. He will need to be physically and mentally engaged, a tired pup is a happy pup! [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Bruce would benefit from positive reinforcement training; he is curious and intelligent and will need support from his owner to learn what his expectations are. Bruce will thrive when he begins bonding with his owner and building his confidence and this will enable him to continue to try more new things. [Moderate]GROOMING: [Minimal]March 1, 2024, 4:49 pm

Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 5-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, house trained, muzzle trained, e-collar trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. he just needs someone who understand he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. NO trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! -- If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://bit.ly/2JnZqK5 Blitz is being fostered in Worcester. The adoption fee is $250. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
A loving young lady, sweet Toucan is an easy-going pooch who wants nothing more than for you to take her home. A fully grown, two-year-old Boxer and Terrier mix with a classic, short black coat, she is a medium sized gal, weighing 45 pounds. Surrendered by her previous owner due to financial hardship, we are serious when we say Toucan is a sweet one! Affectionate and mild mannered, she is a medium energy girl who enjoys the company of children and other dogs. Felines pique her curiosity too much for a cat to be a good companion for Toucan so she will need a home without a feline resident. She is house and crate trained but still working on her leash training. Although Toucan is house trained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while she adjusts to a new home environment. Toucan is oh so ready to be an amazing companion. She will thrive in a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to provide continuous training, exercise and socialization. And lots of hugs and kisses, too. Thinking about bringing this beautiful bird into your nest? Then wing on over to our online Application and make it happen. The adoption fee for Toucan is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.March 3, 2024, 8:02 am

How could anyone do such a thing to a baby? Briar is now safe with us. He is such a happy boy. Briar will make your day with his loving presence. He has a way about him to make you frowns turn into smiles. Briar loves playing with his toys and enjoys chewing on bones. After a long playtime, he will just crash on the couch and take a nap. You can certainly join him and he will cuddle up with you. Briar is a smart cookie as well who is food motivated, so training will be great for him. Fetching Hearts Rescue requires all adopters to go to training with puppies. This is the most important time for them to learn. Story
Meet Daya!! Daya once lived in a home with a family in Mississippi who loved her. One day they decided they longer wanted in their house, so they kicked her out and chained her to their porch. The chain was very short and she did not have much room to move at all. Fast forward to now, Daya is a loving girl who has tons of love to give. She is always wanting to greet you with a shake. She knows paw very well. Lol! Even though Daya does not have her family anymore, she is ready to move on and start her life with a new family. Daya will need a fenced yard with a playmate to run around with and play tug a war but also will lay down in sun to take a nap. Please be sure to have lots of toys for her as she loves to squeak, toss them in the air and snuggle with them. Daya is a smart girl who loves to learn, so basic obedience will be great for her and her new family. By the way if your wondering what her name means, here is the definition: "the feeling of empathy toward the suffering of others". Which we all know we need this in rescuing animals. She has so much empathy in her eyes. Daya will be waiting to meet you very soon and become part of the family. She will snuggle with you and give you nothing but lots of love and empathy. Story
Roxi is a great dog. She is 3 years old with no medical problems. She is sweet and loves cuddles. Roxi gets really anxious when she is alone. She needs a home with adults. She doesn't know her own strength. She needs her people to be home mostly all day ,have fenced in/ safe area for her to run. If she runs, her anxiety releases and she is good. She knows commands like, sit, paw, no, shake, and shake other paw. She doesn't have enough room to run here. We know that's what she needs, and want her to be able to be her best self with someone to treat her like their baby. She does great at the dog park with other dogs. We love her so much, but she deserves so much more than we can give . It's breaking our hearts. We are going to miss her terribly. We want to make sure this is her last home. Please, very serious experienced inquiries only. We do not want any money for her or her things. She has food and Container, bowls, toys, large crate , blankets.
