Story
Meet Blair! Blair was adopted from God's Dogs Rescue as a puppy. Her adopted mom loved her very much until she passed away. Instead of continuing to treasure this sweet pup, the family tossed her. Now at 6 years of age, Blair was picked up as a stray in Hondo. Somewhere along the way, she was massively overfed, but Blair has already lost almost 20# in her new foster home. She has progressed from getting out of breath walking from the car into the house to zooming joyfully in the backyard with the rest of the pack! She also excels at catching popcorn! Blair has a bit more weight to lose to be ready for bikini season, but she is well on her way, having lost almost 30 lbs so far. Blair is a stage 5 cuddlebug. All she wants to do is be with her family. Her big brown soulful eyes, crooked lower teeth & lips-to-"teef sticking "problem are sure to melt your heart. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Hi there, I'm Precious. They say that I am called this because I am the most precious dog here at God's Dogs Rescue. I came to the rescue in October of 2022 to have a safe place for me to have and raise my puppies. All my puppies were adopted by the end of January 2023, but I am still here looking for my furever home. I am a bigger girl, but this just means there is more of me to cuddle you, because I love cuddling it's one of my top 3 favorite things. 1) Food- I love food and will do almost anything you ask if you have a treat involved. 2) Cuddles- on your lap, on the couch, in the bed wherever there is a comfy space with pillows or a human I want to be there. 3) Kisses- I have a love of giving kisses to people, especially kids. Although not everyone likes it when I try to kiss them and that makes me sad. 4) Honorable mention- I like going on walks or in the car for a ride, although I prefer just lazing around at home. My current fosters say that I am a "house hippo with springs in my feet whatever that means; I just know sometimes, when I get super happy, I feel like I could fly- or jump really high. I love their kids and am very good with them even the tiny ones. I get along with most other dogs I meet, although I have a big personality about me, because I'm a boss, so sometimes other dogs don't like that about me. I tolerate cats although if they give me too much attitude or growl at me, I can't help but to give them piece of my mind. I like most new people I meet although I had a rough start in life so sometimes, I can be a little wary with men, with time though I adjust, and we can become best friends forever. A few more little details about me: I am almost 3 years old I am a Boxer/Shepherd mix I am great with kids I am good with Cats and Dogs I am crate-trained I am housebroken I can be adopted in Texas or anywhere in the US too! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Hi! I'm Jack. My foster mom calls me Jack-O-Lantern because of my handsome colors. I love walking in the neighborhood and ran into some people that rescued me. Well I jumped in the middle while they were saving 4 puppies because I wanted to join the party. I love to cuddle and can provide lots of licks because I am a major love bug. I also enjoy making doggy friends. Dog friendly parks and restaurants are some of my favorite places to hang out. My foster mom says that I behave perfectly in a home. I share the couch, eat from my own bowl and know that the only place to go potty is outside. I even learned to use a dog door. I will also "sit before you hand me my food for the day. I am not that interested in toys. A few chew toys are scattered around my room but I don't really know what they are for. I can be in a crate but prefer to roam the house while you are at work. I just want to find my person that I can explore the outdoors with and maybe make a dog friend along the way. If I get on your lap, will you love me forever? Meet Kenny! Kenny is everything you would want in a dog. He is extremely friendly with every person and pup he meets. He loves to go for walks and then snuggle on the couch afterwards. While he is a big dog, he doesn’t realize it and loves to be on your lap (well as much as he can fit). He is wonderful with his foster family’s toddler. He likes to greet him every morning with a kiss! He is also house trained! Recently Kenny spent some time at Lucy’s Doggy Daycare and he did amazing in the big pups park! He’s also good with small dogs and cats. While Kenny can be crated while you are away, he is not a fan of being in the crate while you are home, which is alright since he is not a destructive dog unless it’s a good chew toy! Kenny is a boxer mix about 2.5 years old and 65 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.February 23, 2024, 9:59 pm

Story
Bruce came to TJO after having been crated the majority of his life, he has been excited to explore the world around him and make friends with everyone he meets.OTHER PETS: Bruce did well meeting other dogs; he was social and playful and did well with dogs of differing energy levels. As with all our dogs, Bruce should meet and dog he would be living with prior to adoption. [Likely (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Bruce needs an owner who can provide a structured routine, exercise, and training; if not provided with regular opportunities for fun, this dog will find his own fun at your expense![Some Experience]KIDS: Bruce is friendly and outgoing but is also learning to not be so jumpy, he gets carried away and could accidently hurt a smaller human. [15+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Bruce will need daily walks and after some time working with him, would be an excellent adventure companion. He will need to be physically and mentally engaged, a tired pup is a happy pup! [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Bruce would benefit from positive reinforcement training; he is curious and intelligent and will need support from his owner to learn what his expectations are. Bruce will thrive when he begins bonding with his owner and building his confidence and this will enable him to continue to try more new things. Story
A loving young lady, sweet Toucan is an easy-going pooch who wants nothing more than for you to take her home. A fully grown, two-year-old Boxer and Terrier mix with a classic, short black coat, she is a medium sized gal, weighing 45 pounds. Surrendered by her previous owner due to financial hardship, we are serious when we say Toucan is a sweet one! Affectionate and mild mannered, she is a medium energy girl who enjoys the company of children and other dogs. Felines pique her curiosity too much for a cat to be a good companion for Toucan so she will need a home without a feline resident. She is house and crate trained but still working on her leash training. Although Toucan is house trained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while she adjusts to a new home environment. Toucan is oh so ready to be an amazing companion. She will thrive in a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to provide continuous training, exercise and socialization. And lots of hugs and kisses, too. Thinking about bringing this beautiful bird into your nest? Then wing on over to our online Application and make it happen. The adoption fee for Toucan is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.February 24, 2024, 7:15 am

Meet Daya!! Daya once lived in a home with a family in Mississippi who loved her. One day they decided they longer wanted in their house, so they kicked her out and chained her to their porch. The chain was very short and she did not have much room to move at all. Fast forward to now, Daya is a loving girl who has tons of love to give. She is always wanting to greet you with a shake. She knows paw very well. Lol! Even though Daya does not have her family anymore, she is ready to move on and start her life with a new family. Daya will need a fenced yard with a playmate to run around with and play tug a war but also will lay down in sun to take a nap. Please be sure to have lots of toys for her as she loves to squeak, toss them in the air and snuggle with them. Daya is a smart girl who loves to learn, so basic obedience will be great for her and her new family. APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 60#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Things weren't looking to great for me but I'm starting to feel better now after all the love, attention and care I've been getting. I've got a cool American Pit Bull terrier/ Yellow Labrador look to me with a white stripe down my forehead. I'm a young pup and I LOVE to play play play!!! It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Walter! I like to greet people the old fashioned way, a tip of the nose, a meeting of the eyes, and a formal introduction of who I am. I've always kind of been an old-soul, at least that's what people tell me, with my wrinkled fur and gentle eyes. As an older gentleman I tend to have a bit more patience than these young whippersnapper pups. You'll find me waddling around quite slowly but my tail still wagging none the less! I have been known to snap when nervous, but I have come so far and I just need a little time and patience. Cause I just so want to be your big goofy friend! I have a soft and squishy face to go along with my squishy personality! I am great with my people and great with other dogs too. I am shy at the very first but am on the fast track to love! As a senior dog there's really only one thing I care about ... TREATS ... just kidding, it's being close to others. Being close to others helps remind me that I am here and my story is still being written with infinite possibilities. Perhaps you and I could write the next chapter together?
