You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet our sweet boy Sherman. He is a gentle soul that enjoys being around his people. Sherman likes to play for a short time. He would do best in a home with an older dog that is as relaxed as him. He does pick the dogs he is most comfortable around and he definitely wouldn't enjoy an energetic puppy. If you are interested in meeting Sherman, the first step is to go to our website www.adoggie4you.org and complete an application for him.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cin c innati, Lexington KY,     or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:17 pm

Story
Hi there, I'm Precious. They say that I am called this because I am the most precious dog here at God's Dogs Rescue. I came to the rescue in October of 2022 to have a safe place for me to have and raise my puppies. All my puppies were adopted by the end of January 2023, but I am still here looking for my furever home. I am a bigger girl, but this just means there is more of me to cuddle you, because I love cuddling it's one of my top 3 favorite things. 1) Food- I love food and will do almost anything you ask if you have a treat involved. 2) Cuddles- on your lap, on the couch, in the bed wherever there is a comfy space with pillows or a human I want to be there. 3) Kisses- I have a love of giving kisses to people, especially kids. Although not everyone likes it when I try to kiss them and that makes me sad. 4) Honorable mention- I like going on walks or in the car for a ride, although I prefer just lazing around at home. My current fosters say that I am a "house hippo with springs in my feet whatever that means; I just know sometimes, when I get super happy, I feel like I could fly- or jump really high. I love their kids and am very good with them even the tiny ones. I get along with most other dogs I meet, although I have a big personality about me, because I'm a boss, so sometimes other dogs don't like that about me. I tolerate cats although if they give me too much attitude or growl at me, I can't help but to give them piece of my mind. I like most new people I meet although I had a rough start in life so sometimes, I can be a little wary with men, with time though I adjust, and we can become best friends forever. A few more little details about me: I am 3 years old I am a Boxer/Shepherd mix I am great with kids I am good with Cats and Dogs I am crate-trained I am housebroken I can be adopted in Texas or anywhere in the US too! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Hello!!! My name is Teddy and let me "tell" you! My foster mom has given me an indian name as well!! I am called, "The little dog who is short, brave and like to talk back a whole lot :)" In other words, she LOVES ME!!! I mean SURE I am a talker, but if you want EVERYONE to know what you want and what you like... you can't be quiet!! So here I am, Teddy the Talker... a super smart and sassy boy who keeps everyone on their toes (or I may chew them!!) I am a youngster, only about 3 months old, I came in a sad and skinny kid but now I am thriving! Kind of like a plant, food/water/love, REPEAT! I am ready for my FUREVER family and let me TELL you, I love KIDS, and other dogs and people and food and toys and....... all kinds of things! I am a boxer mixed boy with ears that flip flop all over the place and a personality that will keep you entertained. I just really want a fun and active family who will use my smarts to make me the best friend they could ever have.... just takes time and training and yes, a BUNCH of treats too please! Story
If you are yearning for a shy sweet playmate who loves to play ball and splash around in the water, Millie is waiting to meet you. She is a handsome 2-year-old Boxer/mixed breed girl with a statuesque figure, a warm brown and white coat and a gentle soul looking for her forever home and family.Millie was brought into shelter by a kind stranger who found her, so her first years on earth are a bit of a mystery. She is a bit shy around strangers but has warmed up people she has met. She is full grown at 2 years old and 47 pounds, making her a medium sized dog (31-60 pounds). Millie is a laid-back girl who also knows how to enjoy herself with other dogs and with children as she demonstrates her love of play and games. It is not known currently whether Millie is comfortable with cats.Being a good housemate and friend requires learning manners and Millie is doing quite well with leash training. She is already leash and housetrained, but rescue dogs can have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, new family, and new routines. If crate training is planned, Millie requires a crate that is big enough for her to stand and turn around in as well as lie down comfortably. Crates should be cozy, happy places for dogs to hang out. Millie needs time to explore her crate and go in and out as she wishes. Connecticut has plenty of beaches and lakes for splashing around, tossing a ball or a stick so Millie can dive right in and come back all wet and happy. Summer is the perfect time to introduce this mellow girl to fun and games, waves, sand and all the love she deserves when the time comes to clean up and settle down for a cuddle and a nap.The adoption fee for Millie is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.July 26, 2024, 7:52 am

Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Danbury, Glastonbury, or Union CT. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 60#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment. Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/KD9BUCFmQCs This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
This sweet girl we named Lacy was found abandoned and searching for refuge on the streets of Houston. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see just how many dogs there are in need of exactly what we hope to find for Lacy: a loving home. They're all deserving and Lacy is no exception. She's playful, friendly and sweet. She's estimated to have been born around early 2023. She's now spayed, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped making her ready for adoption! We think Lacy would make a nice addition to almost any family looking for a fun, loyal companion (although we prefer one without cats as she was a bit too interested in the one we introduced her to). We also think Lacy would be an amazing companion if you are active and outdoorsy - she would be a great friend to have along and would really thrive while keeping physically and mentally stimulated. She's been very playful with the other dogs we've introduced her to. Lacy has a gorgeous brindle coat and weighs around 47 lbs. If interested in providing Lacy with a loving home, please email for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent.

Story
Atticus is a friendly 7 month old puppy described as a “sweet big baby who loves to give kisses”. He weighs 58 pounds and probably still has some growing left to do. Atticus will be a super addition to an active family where he can be included in daily activities. He loves being with people, going on walks and frolicking in water. He would make a great hiking buddy. His foster mom says “Atticus is a good boy who loves life inside and outside! He plays hard and loves big. He adores my husband. He does great in his crate..sleeps all night. He walks well on the leash. He loves to play with other dogs and does best with bigger dogs because he is just a puppy and doesn’t appreciate his own size. He is patient and calm when I give him a bath.” Atticus is crate trained and nearly housebroken. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventives. If you think Atticus is the perfect boy to join your family, please email bigyellowdog.wendy@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Meet Kobe! He was rescued from the side of the road by his foster, and he is just the sweetest boy! His foster family has been caring for him for about a year, but never intended to keep him forever. They have 5 kids ranging from 6 months old to 12 years old and they play with him and lay with him and he is always sweet and gentle with them. He’s never shown aggression to anyone at all. He’s crate trained and house trained, but he will dig under the fence if he doesn’t get enough exercise. He would thrive with more exercise, training and mental stimulation. He’s a very smart dog, but also quite strong so would do well with obedience training. Kobe is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 75 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.July 26, 2024, 4:53 am

Story
Captain here, looking for a dog to lead the way? Consider me! I am loyal, goofy, and lots of fun! I can be nervous until we know each other better, but if you lived on the cold/hot hard streets you may be a little wary with new people too. Now, my time at the rescue has really really improved my life and I am SO MUCH more social and outgoing! I am a big, beautiful reddish-tan Pittie/Labrador mix with a white racing stripe down the middle of my chest! Our small canine family came to God's Dogs Rescue in a pickle, a rag tag group of Labradors and one pregnant female! We came to this safe haven with just 3 dogs and now we're a whole lot more! But all of us are now spayed and neutered and READY for furever families who won't leave us to run the streets and starve, we actually have gotten a little chunky, lol and REALLY HAPPY!! As Captain, I'll ensure that you are properly lead and motivated to get your day to day life moving! Well, that's because I need daily walks but besides the point! Some basic information about Captain; he is male, Pitbull/Labrador Retriever mix, and is medium/large-sized boy, at about 60#.
