Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Unknown Good With Kids: Unknown Kennel Trained: Yes Age: 3 Yrs Spayed: No Meet Chip, a shy and loving 3 year old Boxer/Border Collie mix with a heart of gold. He is a handsome black and white boy with big warm brown eyes and a soft, expressive face. He recently started to smile, once he settled in to his foster home. Chip is a gentle soul who can be timid at first when meeting new people. He prefers to take his time getting to know someone new, and may retreat if he feels uncomfortable or overwhelmed. But once he feels safe and secure in his surroundings, he is a loyal and affectionate companion who loves nothing more than getting pets and love. Chip is a medium-sized dog who has a calmer energy level and is dog friendly without being overwhelming. Chip is also a good listener, and he responds well to positive reinforcement training techniques. With his gentle and loving nature, Chip would do well in a calm and stable home environment where he can feel safe and secure. He LOVES having access to his kennel which is where he goes to rest or decompress. Overall, Chip is a sweet and affectionate dog who would make a loyal and loving companion for the right person. With patience, love, and understanding, Chip has the potential to blossom into a confident and happy pup who will melt your heart with his gentle, loving ways. Story
He is a purebred boxer, comes with AKC papers. I purchased him from a breeder as a puppy. He is 18 months old, full of energy. He loves his bones and he loves balls and toys. He is also a cuddler, loves to be around kids and people. He would do best being the only dog in the house. I am unsure of how he would do with other animals as he has never been exposed to them. I am needing to rehome as he has started to become food and toy aggressive with my other boxer.

Story
Bailey is a 6, almost 7, year old dog who is still a puppy at heart. She is smart and will fetch a tennis ball until she drops. She knows a ton of tricks and will gladly learn more if you have a toy in front of her. She makes the perfect snuggle buddy and LOVES being under the covers. While Bailey is a lover, she isn’t quite fond of other dogs. This doesn’t make her a bad dog but it does mean that she would be best suited in a home where it’s just her. Unfortunately she is no longer getting along with our older dog so with the best interest of both in mind we had to make the tough decision to rehome her.

Story
Pupdate- 4.16.24 Hey friends, I'm Cooper! I'm an awesome boy with quite a story.  I will start with telling you a little about the amazing progress I have made in a short amount of time.  Pull up a chair , I can’t wait to tell you about myself…   Mr. Cooper LOVE people and affection. If you are interested in having  someone  be your loyal shadow, this guy is for you! He is an extremely strong and muscular dog weighing in at a solid 62 pounds. You should note that I eat about 3.5-4 cups of food a day. I do seem to have some digestive issues (toots), so we stick to chicken or  beef based  dog food.  I am very food motivated, so you can use food as treats…I don’t seem to know the difference ;)  When  I  first came to  my  foster mum ,   I  was: not house-trained, not crate-trained, couldn’t walk on a leash,  has some  skin issues and sores on  my  feet. But in a short 6 weeks …guess what…   I am  INCREDIBLY excited to share that  I have overcome all of the skills just listed!   I do  fall into  my  old habits of being mouthy, at times when engaging in play.  I’m not being  aggressive ,  just very excited and a lot of energy  makes me overly excited. From my foster mum:  Although Mr. Cooper LOVES kids, he does not remember his size. This paired with his energy can lead to jumping and possibly knocking over any children. Teenage children or older is recommended. Mr. Cooper also loves other dogs.  Mr. Cooper LOVES to be outside. This includes just lounging in the sun or running zoomies in the yard. His foster mum “highly” recommends a house for him “not” in the cities but instead a quiet area. He currently lives on 4 acres on a quiet dead-end cul-de-sac. He has jumped a fence in the past and his foster mum believes he would still be capable of this, so a fence is not a confinement solution for him long term. He currently runs on a 50 ft. leash lead and this seems to work well. He has stubborn streaks and will not listen if he is determined or focused on something.  He seems to have a “very” high prey drive! Although he lived with a small dog in the past, his foster mum doesn’t know how he would do. There are two small  dogs in the neighborhood now and he seems very eager to meet them but he needs to continue practicing his manners prior to meeting them (they are quite small).  Although he doesn’t bark when people knock at the door, ring the door bell, or stand in the open glass; he will stand gazing eagerly at the individual on the other side. But he doesn’t seem to bark. He  does  bark when foster mum leaves the house, so he should not in a home with any shared walls.   Cooper does not like the cold or to be cold. He LOVES to snuggle in foster mum’s softest blankets and cuddle next to her all night long. I love to lay wherever you will let me but know that I can only go where my basketball blanket is placed.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2024, 9:46 pm

Story
Update 6.1.24 Zeke has enjoyed being outside the last few weeks with the nice weather, he has no problem going out when it is raining, wiping him off is a challenge though since he doesn't like being touched. He gets the zoomies when he comes in from outside sometimes, that is usually a sign that he has pooped. Him and our resident boxer like to play keep away, it is usually him chasing and eventually getting the toy.  Between 9-9:30 pm  he has had enough and whines to go outside and will typically put himself in his kennel letting you know that it is bedtime, although he currently is curled up in the dog bed occasionally whining because he thinks he should be in his kennel but for some reason he won't put himself to bed. My husband says that he really likes his walks and that he really only whines when he wants/needs something.    Things are going well here.  Zeke is a really good dog that is looking for his forever home.  He is a curious boy with all the Boxer attitude, and is sweet and playful and does well with our other dogs.  He loves his toys and is learning how to fetch.  The cat is not an issue for him so a home with a cat could work just fine. He is vocal when he plays and loves to play hard like a typical Boxer. Zeke loves his kennel and puts himself to bed when he is tired.  He loves to ride in the car, is independent and food and treat motivated.  He is housebroken. He isn't a fan of being touched when he's sleeping - he'll grumble and walk away. We have only had him for a few days and he is doing great.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2024, 9:46 pm

Story
Update 4.20.24 Hello, Molly here. I have great news.  My foster mom taught me to sit. I am crushing this foster thing. I am ready to show my forever family the joy named Molly. That’s me!   New to rescue 2.25.24 My names Molly! I am a 4 and a 1/2 year old female boxer. I’m a bit smaller than your usual boxer weighing in at an about 40 pounds. I have a heart murmur so I need to take it a little easy as I get tired pretty quickly. I can’t be spayed because I can’t undergo anesthesia due to my heart murmur. I’m a very calm girl who loves to snuggle close on your lap. I listen well and i’m very smart! I love to learn. Im crate trained and I see my kennel as a safe space. I recently got potty trained and i’m doing so good with it!! I’m finding my confidence and being more independent from my brother. I do not do well with other dogs or cats. My brother and I get overwhelmed around other animals & will start tussling with each other. Something that people love about me is my tongue almost always sticks out! I’m really enjoying learning all the fun words like “treat” “outside” and “car ride” means! I love to play with toys and chew on bones. Again, snuggling is my jam. Cover me with a blanket please!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2024, 9:46 pm

Story
Billy was a stray in Ohio who came in really thin with some hair loss and ear hematomas. He is fostered with 6 other dogs and cats. If the cats are outside he wants to chase. He loves to be close. He rides perfectly in the car but is very strong on leash. He runs and plays like a young boxer but has some grey. He's looking for a home that won’t leave him behind. He deserves the best!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2024, 9:46 pm

Story
** Can only be seen by appointment: 651-772-8983 **Well hey there! My name is Gus and I'm a handsome, 5 year old Bulldog mix. I was picked up by St. Paul Animal Control and my owner was never found so I was transferred to Animal Ark. I can be a bit shy with new people so I would need some time to get to know you, but I am a sweet boy. I need to go to a home with a fenced in yard, with no children or small animals, and with someone who is willing to teach me how to be a well-mannered boy. I would also need a slow introduction to any potential canine siblings. I am very treat motivated and very smart. Since I'm such a special boy, I can only be met with an approved adoption application. If you think I might be a good fit for you, please contact the shelter!

His birthday is around June of 2020, a pandemic puppy! He came to rescue over two years ago with his deaf sister, Amara.. They had each other but didn't know that humans could communicate with them. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Angus knows " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, he reads from his foster mom's body language. Angus loves to play outside with his sister and smell all the smells. He loves to have toys so much that he'lloften race inside so he can gather up all the toys (especially from his sister's kennel before we notices) and hoard them in his kennel. He has a wonderful relationship with Amara, his sister. It would be nice if they were adopted them together but it's not required. We ask that he be the only other animal in the home, except for his sister, just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". Angus does not have a mean bone in his body but he's a bit of a bull in a China shop kind of boy! He just likes to run fast and slide through his turns! A fenced in yard is required so Angus can be free to explore and smell all the smells. This boy will steal your heart the minute you meet him. He's always happy and greets you with a smile on his face. ##1971033##

Be still my heart, Amara is a big, sweet, loving, Deaf Dogo Argentino. She's a Pandemic Puppy with a birthday around June, 2020. She came to rescue over two and a half years ago with her deaf brother after they were dumped by their owner. They had each other but didn't know that humans could communicate with them. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Amara knows sign language for " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, she reads from her foster mom's body language. She is happy to please and leans in for love! Amara loves to go for car rides, play outside with her brother and smell all the smells. She likes to have toys too. So many toys! She has a wonderful relationship with Angus, her brother. We would love to see them adopted together but that isn't mandatory. We recommend that she be the only other animal in the home (except for her brother), just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". This big girl is a cuddler. When she's all snuggled in, she has the sweetest snore. Once she is adopted and settles in, you'll wonder how you ever survived without her. She's the missing piece of the puzzle your life needs. A fenced in yard is required so Amara can be free to explore and smell all the smells and explore to her heart's content without needing to keep you in sight so she can "hear" you.
