COMING SOON TO RESCUE: I was found as a stray. It's unclear how long I was on my own as I have a lot of defensive wounds at various stages of healing. Stay away from coyotes and don't turn your back! I'm hesitant at the moment around other dogs, but hopefully once I'm healed other animals won't feel so scary. I'm very sweet with my humans and love cuddling with the kids. I'm being crate trained and so far, it looks like I'm housetrained. I like to go for walks, even the kids can walk me. COMING SOON TO RESCUE: I'm a sweet boxer boy. I'm an expert snuggler, and firm believer that personal space is overrated! I love hikes, squeaky balls, playing with toys, and dog daycare. I'm wonderful on and off leash, with amazing recall. I've been attending daycare 2-3 times a week since I was 11 weeks old and have never had so much as a scuffle! Other dogs help me feel confident, and would thrive in a home with a canine buddy. At home, I'm house-trained, never jump on people, and have lovely manners. I'll happily follow you around before settling onto the couch for some quality lounging. These days, I'm becoming quite the couch potato as long as I get regular exercise. I sleep happily on my own bed, but would much rather curl up with my people on the big bed.....just don't expect me to leave much room for yourself. I can be shy and anxious around new people and need time and patience to warm up. Once I'm comfortable, I'm an incredibly loving companion. My ideal home would be with adults or possibly older, respectful children who understand my need for space. I'm too old for little ones who jump on me, hit, or scream - all the typical unpredictable toddler things. I was recently diagnosed with 'Boxer Cardiomyopathy'. Lame, I know. I'll start one simple medication and my cardiologist is confident I'll love a normal life and likely die from old age, as we should all be so lucky. My heart muscle itself is very strong and structurally sound. I'll need a check up every six months to a year with the cardiologist to be sure I'm healthy.
