Cheerio is sweet, roundly delightful, and guaranteed to start your day off right. Much like the cereal, he’s wholesome, dependable, and somehow makes everything better. This social, friendly guy believes everyone he meets is there for one reason: to admire him and give scratches immediately. He loves attention, loves pets, and would happily accept a full-time position as your personal cuddle supervisor. Cheerio isn’t just charm and good looks—he’s got manners too. He knows “sit” and takes treats gently. If your mornings (or afternoons…or evenings) could use more happiness, more laughs, and more lovable energy, Cheerio is ready to be the best part of your daily routine.

Story
Zion is a young female pocket pittie mix who found herself at a high volume kill shelter where dogs get euthanized daily. When it was her turn, we rescued her and what a good save she was. She is a pocket pittie, i.e. small in size for the breed, and great with other dogs and also with cats. She is playful and loving and will be your best friend. She does well in a crate too. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Doug is the kind of dog who makes your home feel calmer the moment he walks in. He’s quiet, easygoing, and low maintenance—the type of dog who doesn’t demand much but quietly makes your day better just by being there. Doug is sweet, gentle, and gets along well with everyone. He’s been around dogs of all sizes and temperaments and does great with them, and he’s also good with cats. He enjoys playtime but isn’t hyper, and he does great on walks both on and off leash. While he may be a little shy at first, he warms up quickly and is always kind, never aggressive. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t create chaos or stress—just a steady, peaceful presence that makes life easier. Good fit: someone looking for a calm, low-maintenance companion who fits easily into daily life. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH

Story
Salvation is the kind of dog who will remind you, every single day, how powerful love and safety really are. She is incredibly affectionate and just wants to be close to her person. The kind of dog who leans into you, soaks up attention, and makes your home feel warmer simply by being in it. Her past wasn’t kind—but she didn’t let it define her. Salvation was seized from a cruelty case where she was confined to a small cage 24/7 and nearly starved. And yet, she is one of the sweetest, most forgiving dogs you will ever meet. She’s great with other dogs—even the annoying ones—and has been around cats as well. She walks nicely on leash and, despite her history, does well in a crate. What she’s really looking for is simple: someone to love her and a place where she never has to question her safety again. Good fit: someone who wants a deeply affectionate dog and understands the impact of giving a dog a true second chance. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit?
