Story
Apply at www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/sms-a-50 A few months ago, we rescued our incredibly frightened yet endearing Nova from the Romulus Animal Shelter. Nova had been seen in the area, eluding capture for about three months before she was finally secured. We managed to rescue her just one day before her scheduled euthanasia. Nova has made significant progress but remains very wary of people. Adding to this little lady's challenging story, she tested positive for heartworm. She had formed a bond with another dog, Sky, at her foster home and was beginning to unwind when, sadly, Sky died unexpectedly. Her foster mother has been providing her with extra care and assurance that all is well. Having received treatment, Nova is now in search of a place to call home. The rescue organization will cover the treatment costs in full. We are looking for a tranquil home for her, ideally with a retired individual, where there is minimal chaos and someone is frequently present to shower her with affection throughout the day. Nova is incredibly sweet and will quickly become affectionate.

Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4 year old Pitbull Lab (?) mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. Because I’m such a good boy, I’m allowed in the house and have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. You can hold the TV remote for us. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever with some training. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. Fortunately, my past dog life doesn’t include any physical abuse so I’m not afraid of people or other animals. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire so I wouldn’t be a good hunting dog. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Recently I was tricked into getting “tutored” and woke up with my bubbles missing. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours! Story
Agnes (called Sadie by her foster mom) was found in middle Tennessee near starvation, but she has made great progress. She is now a normal size at 50 lbs. Sadie is housebroken and loves to snuggle. She always greets her people when they enter the house. She knows how to sit and doesn't run off - she sticks close to her humans. She loves to take car rides and play with her foster sister. Sadie would make a great companion for someone who will treat her like family! The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Luke is one of our longer resident dogs and we can't imagine why he's been overlooked. He's a big and strong guy but truly has a heart of gold. He is a friendly dog who generally likes everyone he meets, but he might knock over little ones. Luke might be selective with his dog friends so we recommend setting up a meet and greet before adoption to make sure it's a perfect match.Adoption Fee: $200, includes spay/neuter and all veterinary care as needed. If interested in meeting, please stop in during open hours, Tuesday-Saturday 12-5:00 pm. Story
Rose is one of the prettiest dogs we've ever met! This 2.5 year old Bully mix girl is about as sweet as they come with every person she meets. Rose is energetic, but not too hyper and will likely be a couch potato after a good walk. We recommend bringing the entire family to meet her. Rose will need to be the only pet in the home, but isn't too reactive to other dogs on walks, etc.Adoption Fee: $200, includes his neuter and all veterinary care as needed. If interested in meeting, please stop in during open hours, Tuesday-Saturday 12-5:00 pm.
