Story
COME MEET ME AND MY FRIENDS at our next ADOPTION EVENT at Mitchell's One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning (1750 Moore Road in Avon, Ohio) on Saturday, June 3rd from 11am - 2pm during their car show! We can't wait to meet you! Charm is a 3-year-old, 45-pound Boxer/Pit Bull Terrier mix that was taken to a shelter with a terrible leg injury. She somehow had broken her leg and it seemed as though someone did what they could to help her by wrapping it in gauze and medical tape. When she was picked up as a stray, her leg had become severely infected and immediate amputation was required to prevent her from going septic. Despite the pain she was in when picked up, Charm quickly charmed her way into the hearts of everyone she met with her sweet demeanor and soulful eyes. This sweet girl is so full of love and life. Charm enjoys spending her days chasing birds and squirrels in the backyard, playing with the other dogs in her foster home, chewing on toys, and snuggling in for naps. Charm is working on her leash manners but is fully potty trained and crate trained. While she gets along great with other dogs, she requires a cat free home. Charm also needs a securely fenced yard as she is fast, energetic, and agile. This lovely lady is looking for an energetic family to love. If you need a lucky Charm, look no further! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: Approx 3 years Adoption fee: $500

Story
Dakota is currently located at Grafton and Reintegration Center. If you'd like to make an appointment to meet him please contact Laura: 330-441-0813 Our very handsome Dakota is a recent graduate of our prison training program where he learned all of his basic obedience including sit, down, stay, come, leave, and place. He has good leash manners and makes a great walking companion. He is house-broken and is able to be either in or out of a crate. Dakota does have a fair amount of energy, and will do well with a family who will keep up with his training and keep him busy. Dakota gets along with most other dogs, but his handler in the prison program is recommending that he be the only dog in his home. He will also need to go to home without cats. Dakota was surrender to ARF when his dad passed away and now he's looking for his forever home

Story
Josie was feral but was rescued by a family with two dogs and a teenage son. She lived with them for four years, last year the grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and moved into the home. The household became more stressful. Josie attacked the smaller dog, and they were afraid that she may attack the grandmother. She was confined to the kennel most of the time. In November, I took her off their hands to give her a less stressful environment, even though I have little experience with dogs. I work from home, and I have partial custody of my children. Josie is a great companion for me, she sleeps with me each night, listens pretty well, and doesn't chew or have accidents. However, she acts aggressively toward my children and strangers. My children are afraid of her. I have listed her with two other rescues and haven't heard back on placements. She is great when it is just me, but she is kenneled or on a leash when anyone is here. She deserves a better life than I can provide for her.
