Story
Meet Dolly 🌸 She is a low-maintenance, easygoing girl who enjoys short walks, lounging in the sun, and relaxing in the grass. She loves affection and quiet companionship more than anything. She gets along with other animals as long as they give her space, she’d do best in a calm home with relaxed pets or as the only animal. Dolly is a gentle 9-year-old, 55-pound sweetheart who has overcome more hardship than any dog should. She spent the first part of her life chained to a tree in Indiana for three long years, used for breeding until she could no longer have puppies. When she was no longer wanted, she was left to live in a car in Ohio. 🌸Despite everything she’s been through, Dolly’s heart is pure gold. She’s now working on gaining back some healthy weight and learning what it feels like to be safe and loved. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, and recently had a few growths removed, so she’s ready for her forever home. After everything she’s survived, Dolly truly deserves a peaceful, loving place to call home, one where she can finally just be loved. ❤️ Text to meet Dolly 🌸440.773.1707 / (216) 470-4322❤️

MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Blaze, a 1-year-old, 52-pound Boxer mix, is a good boy through and through with a wonderful medium-energy personality. He enjoys playtime and activity, but he’s just as happy giving love and soaking up affection. Blaze is currently learning his commands and is a great listener who responds well to guidance. He can be a little jumpy at times, but he corrects easily and is eager to please. Blaze does well with kids and other dogs and has not yet met cats. He walks nicely on a leash overall, though he may pull a bit when he spots something exciting—something that will continue to improve with practice. Blaze is both crate trained and potty trained, making him an easy and lovable companion. Sweet, attentive, and well-balanced, Blaze would be a great fit for a family looking for a dog who can play, learn, and cuddle right alongside them. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training, & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 1 year Adoption Fee: $300

Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Petey is a 1-year-old, 50-pound Boxer mix with a heart as big as his goofy grin. This happy-go-lucky boy plays hard and loves even harder, and his adorable bunny hop when he chases his toys is guaranteed to make you smile. Petey loves stuffed toys, balls (especially the big ones!), and bones to chew. He does an amazing job entertaining himself, but when he’s ready for affection, he’ll lean right into you with the cutest snuggle request. Despite his size, Petey would happily curl up in your lap if you let him. He keeps his crate clean and takes treats incredibly gently. Petey had a rough start in life where humans failed him, yet he’s shown nothing but love in return—a true testament to his sweet and forgiving nature. Petey does great with other dogs and has not yet met cats. On walks, he may pull on the leash at times, but he listens well and will stop and sit when you talk to him. Overall, he’s just a big, lovable goofball looking for a forever home where he can play, snuggle, and finally get the love he deserves. Story
Sweet Baby wants to be your companion! She is chill and low maintenance (for the most part haha) if she isn’t being forward soliciting pets and leaning into your legs when getting pets. She is happiest when she is interacting with humans. She loves being a ‘turtle’ for back scratches. She will kick her back legs in the air because the feeling of being scratched is soooooo good! At 10 years old, Baby still enjoys long walks and light jogging/nighttime runs. After that, you can find her wiped out on the couch (or her bed) snoring extremely loudly, sometimes even howling in her sleep. Must be a good dream! 😊 Baby’s favorite TV show is SpongeBob. She listens intently to his conversations. Cute! Baby loves meeting people. She goes up to everyone she meets hoping to get pets (or treats. Cheese is her favorite). When you come home from work. Baby likes to greet you at the door. She immediately solicits belly rubs and butt scratches. Some of Baby’s ‘dislikes’ are car rides (she gets anxiety), loud noises (mostly door buzzers), her nails getting clipped and most importantly when people stop petting her. Baby is about 10 years old, 90lb Boxer mix. Baby is looking for a family that can provide her with a calm, quiet environment for her beauty sleep yet active enough where she gets her daily walks/jogs. Baby is great with everyone. She is house trained. She isn’t destructive in the home when left alone. She whines for a little bit when people leave but she settles quickly. Baby previously lived with 2 cats. Her previous family moved away and left her in the apartment.

Story
If you are looking for a sweet senior who still has spunk, Lulu is your girl! Lulu loves people and attention but then when she is done, she goes to take a nap. Unfortunately, Lulu has had a lot of life changes recently and will need some refreshing on her basic training. She is strong on leash but has been introduced to a gentle leader. Lulu would like a family where she can get frequent activity and maybe even have a fenced yard. Lulu gets along with other dogs and has not been cat tested. Story
Mako is ready for his forever home 💙 He may be the type of puppy that makes you wonder why you got a puppy at times, but those ones always end up being the best ones! You are going to learn so much as you walk through life with his silly, clumsy little fella by your side. You also won’t go a single day without laughing at something ridiculous he’ll do, life is much more fun with a Mako in it. He’s the epitome of a class clown, and is looking for a forever home with someone that doesn’t take life too seriously. If you’re looking for puppy perfection, please continue your search. He IS super fun though. He can be trusted to self entertain and as much of a baby shark as he can be, he leaves non dog intended items alone. He’s incredibly social, almost too social at times, and isnt afraid to let you (and everyone else) know he feels left out. He is not shy, nor will he be afraid of or ignore your guests. He has no issues with being alone for a work day, and sleeps through the night only vocalizing when he is up and ready to go out. He travels well, loves his car crate. Has been enjoying getting out for neighborhood walks. He’s busy and drivey and would probably excel as a sport dog, with consideration for his missing limb (not that it slows him down any). This dog is smart. He’s the kind of smart that you have to put to good use and challenge daily. He’s a wizard with a food toy and will help you test all your at home enrichment ideas. As smart as he is, he’s also a bit of an airhead. The amount of times he falls, misses the intended jump, runs into a door or straight into your legs per day will leave you wondering if he lost a few brain cells along with his leg. He means well, but bless his heart. He’d be best suited for a home with humans who are sturdy on their feet and not a fall risk. He’ll do okay in a home with dogs if they are extremely tolerant of his exuberance and full contact play style. Please don’t subject your senior dog to him. They deserve peace that does not exist with him. He runs through life with an open mouth, and while we are getting better, parts of your dog (or cat) may still end up in there. I would prefer his forever home either not have stairs, or have stairs that have carpeting/treads. Same goes for flooring, rugs will help on wood floors as he does slip and we want to protect his other limbs and joints at all costs. Mako is a little love, but he’s still learning how to dog in a way that doesn’t raise your blood pressure. He’ll need you to cut him some slack as he continues to learn boundaries. Not all dogs learn appropriate behaviors at the appropriate time, but we’re trying to catch up! While the drunk frat boy does still show up at times, ive seen so much improvement over the last month or so. He truly gets better and easier to live with each day and I feel like he can definitely be successful in a new place. He’s about 6 months old, 30lbs, fully vetted and ready to be your best friend! He knows his name, sit, down, has an amazing recall, hand target, knows which door to ask to go out from, and keeps his crate clean. I refuse to sugar coat things and act like he’s not a puppy because that helps no one. But if you’re still with me and think he’s the one for you, apply at mercysdoorpetrescue.org. Thank you for considering my little Mako man! 🦈

Story
Pork Chop was rescued from a local shelter where he was due to be euthanized for space. Thanks to his foster, he was able to be given a second chance! This handsome, happy guy loves to run and play. He can be a bit of a rough and tumble player and can be a bit enthusiastic at times, but he’s working on it! Pork Chop has done well with dog friends, but should be in a home without cats. He is strong but super smart so with some fine tuning and training, he will have the walking skills to match his great personality. We are so glad Pork Chop made it out of the shelter and can’t wait to see who he chooses as his best friend for life. If you think you could be the perfect fit for him, apply at mercysdoorpetrescue.org.
