Story
We have had Demi for about 3 years now, but unfortunately we cannot keep her. She is a sweet girl who is very nervous when she meets new people. She does well if people wait to pet her after she settles down, and then once you start petting her- you better not stop! She loves butt scratches, stuffed toys, and bones.

Story
We are hoping 3 strikes, plus a guardian angel, will finally bring Haverly the life he so richly deserves.Strike 1 - Haverly (then Jordan) was adopted out by us in the fall of 2022. He seemingly was living a good life, but then his adopter was transferred to Japan in the fall of 2025.Strike 2 - Haverly's adopter "re-homed" him - something that is absolutely not allowed per our contract. If an adopter can't keep the dog, for whatever reason, the dog comes back to us. But not with Haverly. He was just re-homed.Strike 3 - That person then re-homed Haverly AGAIN. Within just a few months, Haverly lost his first adopter and his second person. And we knew nothing about this. Until Animal Control in Virginia Beach sent an email to us saying Haverly was just picked up as a stray and was at VBACC. We eventually got in touch with the first adopter and were told, sorry, they had no information about who exactly had him before AC found him.We picked up Haverly as soon as we could. He was fed well but we had NO information about his health. He cries a bit but seems to be adjusting to being back at the shelter. He is finding new friends and new routines. And then we realized he had a guardian angel - and we decided a new name is a perfect way for him to never forget who took a chance on him the first time. Chris Haverly was a savior for over 14,000 animals in the SW part of the state. Taking them for spay/neuter, taking them to meet other rescues, getting them out of the area to have a better chance at a new life. He was in an accident recently and passed away.We received many dogs from Chris - and in the fall of 2022, then-Jordan was one of them. So here we go. We are doing all we can to find Haverly his new FOREVER home and we feel certain Chris is watching over him until that happens.Haverly is four-years-old and is a pure delight. He loves people and loves other dogs. And we love him. Please spread the word about this super survivor. We owe it to Chris. And to Haverly.Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton VA. Story
Hi there! I’m Jynx, a 3-year-old mix (maybe pit/boxer?) with soft fawn fur, adorable white socks, and a personality as lovable as my look. If you’re searching for a snuggle buddy and an outdoor adventurer wrapped into one, I might be your perfect match. I love lounging for cuddles as much as I enjoy zooming around the yard and playing tug with ropes and toys. Life hasn’t always been easy, but I adjusted quickly to my cozy new home after being rescued right before Christmas—and what a gift that was! Now, I’m thriving and soaking up all the love and fun that comes my way. I am working on dog relationships as there was a dog I did not get along with well in my previous foster home. For now, we will try to find me a home as the only dog until I can work on being comfortable around other dogs. I’m gentle and curious around cats. I would do fine to meet kids but will not be allowed to live with kids because I can be nervous and lack confidence at times. I’m house-trained, and leash-trained. I don’t like being crated but behave well when unmonitored outside of the crate. I’m also spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to brighten your life with my goofy, loving energy. Since I can be a bit of a barker, I wouldn’t be suited for apartment living. I’m currently in Hampton Roads, VA, but I’d happily make the journey to find my forever home (transport fees apply). If you’re 21 or older and lo

Story
Hi there, I'm Vega, a 7-year-old, 70-pound, brindle and white boxer. I'm looking for a forever home with someone who can keep up with me and love me unconditionally. I'm an extremely loving, smart and adventurous boy, who enjoys playing, running, and exploring. I'm also very smart and eager to please, especially if you have some treats for me. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, so I'm ready to go whenever you are. I have a ton of drive which makes me super fun to work with and my foster mom says I’d be amazing at dog sports of any kind because of how much I like to work. My foster mom can explain more but I need a firm owner who will work me and take me on adventures because I am no couch potato. I am dog selective needing slow intros to other dogs. I should not be around cats or other small animals because of my high prey drive. I do well with kids but best with older kids because of my size and energy. I can be crate reactive and have some barrier frustration, but I’ve been learning to improve my behavior here and am doing so much better. I also need more work on leash training, as I pull hard. Devices like gentle leaders may help me learn how to walk better on leash. I have a lot of love to give. I'm very passionate and loyal to anyone I bond with. I bond quickly and can’t wait to make friends with you! I love being petted and cuddled. I'm a relatively quiet pup, and I calm well when my exercise needs are met. I'm being fostered in Hampton Roads, VA but I can be transported out of state if you're the one for me. So, what do you say? Are you ready to meet your new best friend? I'm waiting for you. Fill out an application today and we will get the process started! *Must be 21 or older to apply.
