Story
Meet Buddy! ❤️ This handsome island boy has been settling beautifully into foster care and showing everyone what a wonderful companion he can be.  At 1 year old and approximately 25 pounds, Buddy is a smaller-medium-sized adventure buddy. He loves going for walks, exploring the world, and then curling up for a well-earned nap. His foster family says he walks wonderfully on leash and continues to impress them with how quickly he is learning new things. He can “sit” and is working on "lay down" and loves having opportunities to learn and please his people. He is doing great in foster care, using the yard for potty breaks (no accidents), enjoying daily walks, and becoming quite the cuddle bug. Whether he’s relaxing by your side or joining you on an adventure, Buddy enjoys being near his people.  He is crated when his foster family isn't home without any problem.  Buddy is gentle, affectionate, and eager to connect with people. There is just one thing on Buddy’s wish list for his forever home: no cats. While he is learning many things, he still can’t resist chasing the resident cat and would be happiest in a feline-free home.  His foster family has invested a lot of time and effort in his training and wants to see Buddy go to a family that will continue his training.  Buddy would do best with structure and guidance so he can be the bestest boy.  He is still young and learning. Buddy originally entered a shelter in Puerto Rico with his mother and brother. Now he is hoping his next chapter includes a family of his very own. ✨ Buddy’s Details: 1 year old Approximately 25 pounds Neutered Up to date on vaccines Mixed-breed Puerto Rican Sato Loves walks and outdoor adventures Affectionate and cuddly Learning basic commands and needs a family willing to continue his training No cats, please If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who is equally happy joining you for a walk or snuggling up for a nap, Buddy may be the perfect match. HEMMY - 1-5 years old, 45 pounds, nervous at first As a stray, Hemmy has been nervous in the kennel. He will, however, warm up to you. It just might take a little time.Out in the yard, he did his own thing, sniffed here and there, checked out the fence, investigated everything he found. He also looked like he was always looking for a way out. He ran to the gate and started barking after a short time. You have to give some of these boys and girls a break when it comes to these behaviors. They can be scared or hesitant about everything going on around them. I gave him some space and allowed him to walk around on his own. When it was time to go, I was able to put him back in his kennel without issue.Hemmy is a super pretty (sorry, I know boys don't like to be called 'pretty' LOL) coloring with his orange and brown brindle fur. The white around his neck and on his face is bright and distinct. His eyes are apprehensive. Time, patience, space. All will help Hemmy settle in a new home with a new family and a new routine. Speaking of routine, we don't know how house trained he is or isn't so understanding where he's coming from will certainly help a lot.We were able to test Hemmy with other specially selected dogs in our shelter playgroup. He seemed very dog social and enjoyed the running and chasing with others. He did not engage in rough play.Bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet and let's see if they can get along. *Please be ready, willing and able to supervise.Hemmy is currently in a back kennel so if you come in to meet him and don't see him, please just ask. Story
Precious is a sweet, playful senior girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for toys. She almost always has a toy in her mouth-even as she's drifting off to sleep! Squeaky toys are her absolute favorite, and nothing makes her happier than curling up in bed with one.She currently lives with two dogs and a cat. While she's occasionally curious about the cat, she mostly ignores him. Around other dogs, she enjoys playing but can be a little possessive of toys, often trying to claim them for herself. She also loves bones so much that her goal is to collect them all and hide them, so she does best enjoying them in her crate. She eats well alongside other dogs and has no issues at mealtime.Precious is a loyal companion who loves being close to her people. She follows her foster everywhere and prefers her special person to accompany her outside, often waiting at the door rather than going out with someone else. She's happiest when she's by your side. She is still working on her house-training. She doesn't consistently signal when she needs to go outside, and her foster has been taking out routinely to help. She's also been dealing with a UTI, which has contributed to accidents. Her foster has also noticed that her back legs have seemed a little weaker after spending longer periods crated, though she does much better when she's up and moving around.Overall, Precious is an amazing girl. She has a loving heart, a playful spirit, and will thrive with a family that understands her quirks and is ready to shower her with love, toys, and plenty of quality time. IT'S BRUIN!---2 yrs old---50 pounds---house trained---friendly when he knows you---playful---nervous meeting new people/at vet/in carTwo-year-old Bruin is a sweet and playful boy recently surrendered for not getting along with one of the dogs in the home. It seems he enjoyed the company of the smaller dogs but not the larger one.Although nervous in the shelter, 50-pound Bruin warms up fairly quickly showing you a silly and high-spirited personality. He runs, he smiles, he has lots of fun with all kinds of toys. Bruin is house trained and enjoys going for walks. Edgy at certain times - in the car, at the vet and meeting new people - requires a bit of managing for our boy here. Managing is key. We can offer advice for these instances. An adult home would be best for Bruin and allowing him to come out of his shell at his own pace will give you that loving and loyal boy.Does BRUIN pull at your heartstrings? Are you willing and able to let him approach you and warm up in his time?If so, come on out to meet him!  Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 50 Age: 1yrs 11mths 3wks

Story
ROSEBUD is a silly and goofy puppy girl looking for a happy and dedicated family to join. She's only 6 months old, a blank slate so to speak. Daily training will help her grow into a well adjusted adult. She loves treats, jumps for treats and she loves to run. She did zoomies like the pros and always came back to me for that yummy treat.Rosebud doesn't really sit, doesn't really know commands. She's just a puppy remember and that daily training mentioned above will certainly help here! She is eager to please you and eager to learn. Fun times will be had as you grow that bond between you with each lesson learned.Rosebud seems to want to be around other dogs - we have not tested her yet. When we do, we will update this bio.Until that time, go ahead and come in to meet her! Bring your dog (if you have one) for a meet and greet, too.
