Story
· Intake Reason: surrendered, not getting along with other dogKnown with:· Cats: unknown· Dogs: lived with 2 yr old Husky and 2 yr old Rottweiler, both neutered males. Only dog to have issue with in home is Husky. Has attended dog park and doggy day care.· Kids: exposed to various ages and did well.· Personality: Very playful and loves tennis balls and fetch. Tends to pull on the leash a bit and is very personable. Knows: sitHello, my name is Rufus and I am a debonair gentleman who is currently in the market for a new home. I lived with a family almost my whole life and things were lovely. I do well with most other dogs and had fun playing at the dog park and with the neighborhood dogs and also got to romp at doggy daycare. When a Rottweiler and a Husky came to live with me, the Rottie was a compatible roommate but the Husky was a bit high-strung for my taste. To keep peace in the home, my people decided that I should come to WCHS to find a new family. I am a sweet and charming lad with loads of love to give so I am confident that I will find a loving home with a consistent leader. Although I am comfortable in a crate, in my previous home I was so respectful of my human's things I was able to roam around freely when I was alone. At night I had the luxury of sleeping in my person's bed and that was lovely; we could snuggle all night long. I had learned to sit by the door and whine to ask to go outside so I could potty. When I get into my new home it would be wise to give me plenty of opportunities to use the outdoor facilities until we learn each other's signals and routines. I am an active boy (some even say hyper) who thrives on physical and mental exercise. I also have a quiet and affectionate side; do you think 70 pounds is too big to hang out on your lap? I am a smart lad and already know the cues for ‘sit' and ‘down'; maybe we could take some classes together so I could learn more human words. I like to keep my brain busy so I like learning and playing challenging games like ‘find-it' or nose work. Foraging mats and brain teaser toys that utilize my nose are tons of fun. I certainly hope you stop by so we can meet in person and you will agree that I am delightful and endearing.#1

Story
Hey there, pals! The name's Cosmo, and boy, do I have a tail to wag for ya! Picture this: a snow white poochie with teefers so cute, they could melt even the iciest heart. Yep, that's me! Now, let me tell you a bit about my journey. I started off as a wanderer, just me and the open road. But then, life took a turn, and I found myself in one of those not-so-friendly places they call a kill shelter. Yikes, right? But hey, I'm not one to let the ruff stuff get me down! See, despite the tough breaks, I'm all about spreading joy and love. I mean, who wouldn't be happy with a tail that wags like a windshield wiper in a storm? I'm a social butterfly, folks! I love other dogs, and I'm always up for a game of fetch or a cozy snuggle session. I love rolling in the grass on my back and getting belly rubs from my people. Into dog parks? ME TOO! I LOVE hanging out with furry pals and doing “dog stuff”. I’m the kind of pooch that would love a doggie day care too! I’ve never met a stranger and despite being where I am and currently homeless, I’m always looking on the bright side and smiling! But here's the thing, pals: I'm ready to trade these Georgia shelter walls for a cozy home up in Wisconsin and officially be "Homeward Bound." Can you blame a pup for dreaming big? So, if you're looking for a furry friend with a heart of GOLD and a smile that lights up the room, look no further 'cause I'm your guy! I HOPE someone will pick me to come to Wisconsin. I’m the best boy (that’s what the people here tell me!). Kennels are filling up fast here at the shelter and soon I may have to give mine up. I hear something about being “out of time”? FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
As we highlight our Nervous Nelly puppies today, we can't forget Paisley! Paisley came from the same situation as Kyra back in November. Like Kyra and Hola, Paisley has been very slow and hesitant to trust people but absolutely loves other dogs. Paisley on the other hand, does seem to be taking a few extra steps in the right direction so far but that doesn't mean we're out of the weeds yet. Very recently Paisley has started following the other dogs into the fenced portion of the yard, and doing great at doing her business while out there! That's not to say we still don't have our share of accidents indoors. But, it has been a massive improvement. Paisley even looks and starts to come inside when foster mom calls for her and her friends. The key is Though, do not stand next to the door when she wants in. Avert your eyes and pay no mind or she'll run the other way! Our new favorite pastime is snuggles on the couch. Her massive milestone was not only no longer running away if foster mom came to sit down too. But, now Paisley will hop up on the couch when her foster is already sitting down! Once she even sees the other dogs getting extra attention, Paisley slowly wiggles her way closer hoping for loving too. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Just don't make it too obvious. She's more nervous than a teenager on a first date. Paisley will gladly take treats and seems to forget she's a scary cat, if you're enjoying a snack to yourself by her. Her daily enjoyment comes from antagonizing the crabby dogs here. The louder and grumpier they yell, the better! Like the others, Paisley will need a very very patient and understanding home. A fenced yard will be needed as she will not move an inch on a leash yet. You might as well tie off to a boat anchor. &#226&#154&#147&#239&#184&#143 adoption fee 400.00 April 24, 2024, 6:29 pm

Name: Ada Age: 2yrs Breed: boxer Mix Gender: female Weight: 40lbs Good with kids: yes Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: a little excited right now Current on vaccinations: Yes Fixed: yes Foster location: New London Application & Website: https://www.ourpackanimalrescue.com/adoption.html Adoption fee: $400 Adoption includes Certified Vet Inspection, and Prior vetting paperwork. Bio: Ada has been with her foster family for less than 48 hours and has already shown what an angel she is! When she first entered the home, she happily went right up to the kids. She loves to snuggle them, and is tolerant of all toddler shenanigans; although her foster kids are very respectful mainly just loud! Ada came from Alabama with her puppy, and has shown some distaste for the snow here in Wisconsin! Foster mom made her a fleece sweater and she’s tolerating the outdoors better now. She sleeps like a bug in a rug all night without accidents. She is doing great learning that the back door is where we head when we need to go potty ♥&#239&#184&#143 we can’t say enough good things about this absolute sweetie pie! Our Pack Animal Rescue, Inc.
