Lola is the sweetest 2-year-old Bull Terrier mix who weighs 32 lbs. She was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield and likely had a litter of puppies prior to being rescued. Her foster Dad was sent a Facebook post from the shelter, which announced her impending euthanization due to lack of public interest (likely due to her breed being hastily labeled as “Pit Bull” at the time). Luckily, Lola was taken in by her foster Dad six hours before her scheduled euthanization. Despite her past, Lola has the most loving and calm temperament, and is the absolute definition of a “Velcro dog”. She quietly shadows her foster Dad wherever he goes, then crawls into his lap when he sits down. Her favorite activities include snuggling, cuddling, and receiving belly rubs! She recently discovered the joy of chasing a ball and will always try to get her foster brothers to join her. Lola bonds to humans and other dogs very quickly, no matter their age, gender, or size, becoming a member of the family within hours! As for obedience, Lola is currently working on minimizing licking, which she often does when excited. However, with some gentle warnings and treats, Lola responds well to training and is a fast learner. She is already fully crate-trained and potty-trained; every foster’s dream! While she does get along with other dogs of all sizes and ages, Lola is not strongly dependent on canine companionship; she would be happy regardless of another dog in the home. She prioritizes snuggling with her family, receiving lots of pets, and eating yummy snacks! MEDICAL HISTORY: Lola does not have a history of medical issues, underlying health problems, or is in need of veterinary care. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. IDEAL HOME: Lola would do best with an individual or family who is moderately active and ready to give her all the snuggles! She gets along with dogs of all sizes and ages (including puppies), as well as humans and young children. We would be open to potential adopters living in an apartment or condo, as long as daily walks are routine. FUN FACTS: - Lola is a relatively calm pup, and would rather cuddle on the couch than roughhouse. - She is usually quite indifferent to other dogs, but will play if initiated! - She has an adorable smiling expression when she is happy or content. - Lola sleeps beside her foster Dad every night. - She always waits for “permission” before jumping on her foster Dad’s lap!

This super fun and sweet English Bulldog was found in the town of Delano on the streets asking people to help her. She was hot and tired and hungry and was asking for human help. She got it, and we agreed to take her into our rescue. Imogene was definitely bred and obviously they didn't need her anymore so they dumped her like trash. Imogene doesn't hold a grudge. She just wants to know that you are going to play with her, toss a toy and go for a walk later. She is only 51 pounds of pudge and is such a good girl. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Indy was acquired from a reputable breeder in LA. He is 4 years old and full of life, he LOOOOVES people, but needs to be an only dog in a household and not socialized without a careful controlled meeting. He's fine with most little dogs, but does not like big ones. He will be your shadow and is a complete food monster :) He will literally try to say Hi to any human he sees on a walk. He is not your typical chunky bulldog and is full of muscle and loves to play, so I would not recommend any kids in the house under 10. He's just a lovebug, but he started fighting with his brother bulldog so I have him now, but I have a great dane that he tolerates. Feel free to ask any questions!!! He is crate trained and sleeps in there at night with the door open, potty trained and is not destructive in anyway.... except for that last squeaky pickle I got him. He is not a barker. He does need someone with knowledge of english bulldogs as they do require a lot of upkeep on ears and paws.
