Story
We adopted Sampson from the humane society when he was 12 weeks old. He has lived with us his whole life (9 years) and has been a great dog. He is very affectionate and gentle with our two young boys. He is energetic and excited to meet new people. He is great with other dogs but prefers dogs that are smaller than him. Sampson loves to go on walks, lay in the sun, lick toes, and chase birds/bugs/squirrels. Over a year ago Sampson partially ruptured his cranial cruciate ligaments in both rear legs. He was under restricted movement for several months and has made a great recovery, though his knees still crack/pop when climbing the stairs and he gets sore if he runs around too vigorously. Sampson does not like being crated. He stays out when we leave the house and rarely causes any issues. However, he has strong anxiety around thunderstorms, which can be challenging.

Story
We are looking to rehome my elderly aunt’s pit bull terrier named Ripley. A recent decline in health has meant my aunt can no longer give Ripley the care she deserves. We are looking for a home that will love and take care of her, and preferably familiar with the breed. She is a smart, sweet, and very loyal dog that has only known one home since coming from the breeder as a puppy. My aunt loves her and would not let her go if she had a choice. We live in another state, already have two cats and cannot take her home with us. Name-“Ripley” (or “Rippy”/“Rip”) Spayed female, 7½ years old, up to date on all shots, regular vet checkups & given preventative trifexis Lots of dog supplies will come with her (training collar, treats, leashes, dog bed, carrier, etc.) Very smart, sweet and non-aggressive around people, even when paramedics, plumbers, etc. have come into the home. She hasn’t been around kids very much, although she’s been fine with those that she has

Story
Nova is a very very sweet, smart and snuggly girl. She was found a couple months ago and we have had her for about a month. We think she would do best in a home without other animals. She is truly an angel by herself, but when other dogs are involved she always wants to play and has not learned when to stop. The vet thinks she is about 10 months old, but we dont truly know for sure, and we dont know her breed specifically either. She is about 50lbs right now and the vet does not think she will grow much more. She is spayed and up to date on all of her shots. We would love for her to be in a loving home with owners who will take the time to continue to train her and get her the exercise that she needs. She knows all basic commands and is leash and crate trained.

Story
"Girlie" didn't come to use with a name but she loves when I say "Say Girl!" What we know is she is a 4 month old Bull Terrier that my daughter took her from a friend of hers family member a little mistreated and neglected. So she's a timid until she's comfortable. My daughter brought her home on 8/8 and purchased food, bowls, etc. Calm, playful, loving, potty trained on a schedule. She doesn't bark much, knows a few commands, smart and curious. Would love to find her a great home - my landlord has weight restrictions so I'm a time crunch.

Story
Thor is a cutie, and super sweet and playful. He arrived at the shelter as a hungry lost boy with ID on July 28. His family decided not to come for him. We don't know how long Thor had been on his own, but he has missed more than a few meals and at just 36 pounds, needs to put on a little weight. He's happy to oblige and is treat motivated, but even in his deprived state, he'll sit and take the treat gently. Thor is about 3 years old. He is current on vaccines and neutered and will be heartworm tested upon adoption. Come meet this boy and fall in love. He's waiting in Run 411; use ID#660666. Thor looks so much better than when he arrived, see video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6MB6U3j2amE Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Story
This smiley girl is Lacey! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl on 8/15, and no one has come to reclaim her. We're surprised no one is missing her; she is super sweet and smart! Someone along the way took the time to teach her a few commands including sit, lay down, and stay. Lacey is still quite young so she'll need an active family who can keep up with her! Lacey is approximately 1.5 years old, and she weighs 35 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines and spayed; she will be microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet Lacey in run 403; her ID # is 661148. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Jackson is a handsome 7-year-old boy and weighs 80-ish lbs. Because he is a larger love bug who doesn't know his size, he would do best in a home with teenage children. Although Jackson is deaf, he is VERY trainable and has responded well to learning hand signals with his foster mom. He has laser focus whenever his toys or treats are involved. He is very snuggly-and likes to think he's a lap dog, despite his size! Jackson is potty trained, neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter, and are a foster-home based organization. Other than meeting our babies at events, we do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Story
Meet Queenie, a charming 8 year-5-month-old dog with a heart full of love and affection. Queenie is currently available for adoption and is seeking a special home where she can be the center of attention as the only dog. Queenie's story is one of unwavering loyalty and the deep bond she forms with her human companions. She may be 8 years old, but her heart is as young and vibrant as ever, and she has so much love left to give. In a one-dog household, Queenie's love and loyalty will shine, making her the ultimate furry friend. While Queenie's preference for being the only dog might require some adjustment, it's a small price to pay for the unconditional love and devotion she'll offer in return. She enjoys leisurely walks, playtime, and lounging with her human, creating a deep and meaningful connection that is truly special. With her mature age, Queenie is well past the energetic puppy stage, which means she's a calm and well-mannered companion. She's house-trained and has mastered the art of being the perfect companion. Queenie's ideal home is one where she can be the sole recipient of love and attention, a home where she can live out her golden years in comfort and happiness. Don't miss this chance to welcome Queenie into your home and heart, and experience the true meaning of unconditional love. If you are interested in meeting Queenie, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Our adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 and Friday and Saturday from 1-5. With all my love and kisses, Queenie!

Story
Flapjack is ready for the dog days of summer and still looking for her forever home. She loves all humans of all ages and participated in multiple school events. We do believe should do best with children that are a little older in her home. Flapjack is 5 years old and just under 50lbs. She is potty trained and crate trained. She loves to play tug of war or watch tv on the couch next to you. She will roll her potato like body over for belly rubs. Flapjack would do best as an only pet but would be happy to have human siblings. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies!
