This sweet girl is one of our longest residents and came to the Forsyth County Pet Resource Center in October of 2022. She is more than ready to find her forever family. Betty is one of the most intelligent dogs at the shelter and LOVES learning new tricks. Her ideal day would include napping on a comfy dog bed, playing a tug or fetch with her person, and maybe some couch cuddles. Additionally, Betty is not destructive and is completely housetrained, coupled with her calm demeanor, and it makes her the perfect addition to any home!Additional Adoption Information:Dog Testing: She gets along with other dogs but would prefer to be the only pampered princess in a home. We would recommend a meet and greet for any potential canine siblings.Cat Testing: No cats.Kids: We have not seen Betty interact with children yet, we would recommend meeting any children that would be in the home. Jackson is a handsome 6-year-old boy and weighs 80-ish lbs. Because he is a larger love bug who doesn't know his size, he would do best in a home with teenage children. Although Jackson is deaf, he is VERY trainable and has responded well to learning hand signals with his foster mom. He has laser focus whenever his toys or treats are involved. He is very snuggly-and likes to think he's a lap dog, despite his size! Jackson is potty trained, neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter, and are a foster-home based organization. Other than meeting our babies at events, we do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

She’s an almost 7-year-old sweetheart who is mellow, potty trained, and somewhat shy.  This girl is looking for a family to shower her with love while she chills on the couch!     Lexie Grace is a little fearful of new things, but she is very lovable.  Lexie Grace enjoys her walks but may need some coaxing as she is easily frightened.  Inside the home, she’s a calm girl who sleeps in her bed at night, which is great because she’s not a fan of the crate.       Like all dogs, she gets the occasional zoomies and shows real personality.  Lexie Grace is not much of a cuddler, and she doesn’t demand you pet her.  She is an independent gal.  And there is no need to fill the toy box; she prefers a soft place to relax much more than toys!        Lexie Grace is a little quirky – she likes to hide under furniture during thunderstorms and fireworks. Heartworm treatment is very safe, and the success rate is high, and the Pet Resource Center prefers for dogs like Mama Odie to recover in a home with an adopter rather than in a shelter.
