Story
*** Courtesy Post *** Cleo is a unique and special dog who is looking for a forever home! She is currently in a multi-dog home and doing well! Her foster says, "she is doing well with my dog and with a few other dogs who visited the home, two large males and a small female. She will certainly be trustworthy in a multidog household but would love to be the only dog enjoying belly rubs, long walks, and daily adventures! "We are told that Cleo is very calm, very sweet, and very easy-going." Cleo is not a big barker unless she is startled by something in the home, a doorbell perhaps.  Cleo is beautiful and friendly, and she has a sweet and loving nature. At 80 pounds, this four-year old honey bun is not tall, but she is solid. She is 80 pounds of love and goodness, who loves everyone she meets, humans and dogs alike. She is an extreme cuddle bug and loves to play! Cleo loves children (she is in a home with a 2 year old). Cleo is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, crate and potty trained, socialized, and full of love!  If you would like more information about Cleo, or to schedule a meeting, please contact Yael at: yharrisaug25@gmail.com or Dennis at: dennis.mendizabal@gmail.com.  ##2678361##

Story
Chino's DOB as documented by the MD SCPA is 11/11/11. He is in decent health but his back legs do give way occasionally, and he has to pee every 2 hours. He can walk about a block and back home at this point. He is in good spirits and his appetite, as always, is in tact. He will eat any and all food - bananas, mangoes, Indian, Chinese. You name, he will eat it. He is very good with people, children and other dogs (never been exposed to cats since I am allergic). He especially loves ladies. He has always been very healthy and his last vet shots were in October of 2024. Not sure how long he has left but I would like to rehome him rather than return him to the MD SCPA although I expect they would take very good care of him in his "retirement" years.

Story
Otis is a sweet, loving, silly, and stubborn English Bull Terrier. He is goofy - loves to lay on his back and wiggle around. He is super chill - one good walk a day keeps him happy, and he'll mostly lounge around the rest of the day. Otis awas found as a stray 10 years ago, when he was estimated to be around 3 years old.  He's been a very loved faimly member ever since. Otis is pretty mellow for the most part, with bursts of energy (aka zoomies) that will make you forget he's 13 years old! Otis enjoys lounging around on his dog bed or the couch. In warmer weather, he'll enjoy lounging outside and sunbathing all day. He loves one walk a day - ideally at his pace, which can involve side adventures to plug his head into a bush for minutes at a time. An ideal home for Otis would be adults only, with no children (including visiting children) and no other pets. Otis can be reactive with other animals, so he must be an only pet. Any exposure to other animals should be avoided or strictly on leash with careful management by a person experienced with handling a strong dog.  He is typically very sweet and calm with adults.  Children can over stimulate him.  The goal is to maintain safety at all times.  For that reason, he needs a child-free home. Otis is house-trained and only has occassional accidents due to his age, but he is very good at using a pee-pad in a designated place when that happens. He is very good on leash for his walks. Otis does have seasonal arthritis, but it is well-managed with a daily anti-inflammatory. Otis (English Bull Terrier, ~13 yrs, 55 lbs) is a sweet, loving, mellow senior who’s happiest with one good walk a day and then lounging the rest of the time. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and in good health. Otis needs a very specific, safety-focused setup: an adult-only home with no small children (including visiting) and no other pets, and someone comfortable managing a strong dog with clear boundaries.  The perfect home for Otia would also need to have experince with his brred.  This senior gentleman will be an excellent addition to the right family.   To learn more about Otis and request an application please reach out to Vivienne by email at  vivienneajames@gmail.com or text 615-943-7311.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  March 12, 2026, 6:44 pm

Story
Ode to Joy!! That is what Waverlie is at her fosters home. She is playing with pups, loving on her foster mom and enjoying all the treats and sweets that her new life brings. She is a small 38 pound 1 year old who is ready for walks, hikes and frisbee games. She loves to be cared for and is very affectionate in return. Waverlie enjoys her toys and bones and is responsive to training . She is a goofball with a constant smile on her face. Housetrained and crate trained . Another playful dog is required for Waverlie and a fenced yard would be awesome for her. But most important is the love that your family will give her. Waverlie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on all preventatives. The adoption fee for this dog is $450. Application for adoption: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FRE/Dog If you are viewing on Petfinder/Adoptapet and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this dog please visit our website, www.frecklesfoundation.org. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
Meet Helium (aka Meat, Meathead, Grandpa) 🐾 9 years old | 63 lbs | Old English Bulldog Say hello to **Helium**, affectionately known as **Meat** — 63 pounds of bulldog charm, 9 years young, and fully committed to living his best golden-years life. This Old English Bulldog is a retired heavyweight champ who’s swapped the ring for **naps, snacks, and deluxe belly rubs**. He snores like a freight train and considers it a feature, not a flaw. What Helium Brings to the Table: Certified love bug: Cuddles and back scratches are his favorite pastime. Chill vibes only: Easygoing, confident, laid-back, and gloriously unbothered by drama. Socially polite: Helium is okay with other dogs and cats in passing or for short, calm interactions but he would prefer to be **the only pet in the home**, where he can soak up all the attention. Cool customer (literally): He overheats easily, so his forever home must include good AC and short, leisurely walks in cooler weather. Crate pro: He’s got crate life mastered and appreciates a cozy space to relax. Helium’s Favorite Hobbies: Super-slow strolls when the weather is cool Being doted on like the king he is Lounging like a seasoned professional Collecting nicknames (and yes, you’ll definitely add a few of your own) His Story: Helium landed in the shelter after being abandoned in an apartment (rude!). But true to form, he bounced back like a champ and is now thriving in foster care — ready for a family who will treat him the way he deserves. The Bottom Line: Helium is the **ultimate couch companion**. He’s not looking for marathons or mountains — just a cool, comfy home, plenty of belly rubs, and humans who believe underbites are simply smiles in their purest form. **Adopt Helium.** Because every handsome old soul deserves a retirement full of love, belly rubs, snacks, and naps. 💙🐶 ********************************************************************************** Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Story
Bernie and Bella are 7 years old. They have been together since I took them from the breeder. They are super cuddly soft couch potatoes. Very loving. Low maintence. They need a very short walk each day and lots of belly rubs. They are very healthy. Note: I am moving to Costa Rica and they will not do well in the heat and humidity. Bernie is very protective of Bella and does not like other dogs. They must go to a loving home and be kept together.
