Story
Otis is a sweet, loving, silly, and stubborn English Bull Terrier. He is goofy - loves to lay on his back and wiggle around. He is super chill - one good walk a day keeps him happy, and he'll mostly lounge around the rest of the day. Otis awas found as a stray 10 years ago, when he was estimated to be around 3 years old.  He's been a very loved faimly member ever since. Otis is pretty mellow for the most part, with bursts of energy (aka zoomies) that will make you forget he's 13 years old! Otis enjoys lounging around on his dog bed or the couch. In warmer weather, he'll enjoy lounging outside and sunbathing all day. He loves one walk a day - ideally at his pace, which can involve side adventures to plug his head into a bush for minutes at a time. An ideal home for Otis would be adults only, with no children (including visiting children) and no other pets. Otis can be reactive with other animals, so he must be an only pet. Any exposure to other animals should be avoided or strictly on leash with careful management by a person experienced with handling a strong dog.  He is typically very sweet and calm with adults.  Children can over stimulate him.  The goal is to maintain safety at all times.  For that reason, he needs a child-free home. Otis is house-trained and only has occassional accidents due to his age, but he is very good at using a pee-pad in a designated place when that happens. He is very good on leash for his walks. Otis does have seasonal arthritis, but it is well-managed with a daily anti-inflammatory. Otis (English Bull Terrier, ~13 yrs, 55 lbs) is a sweet, loving, mellow senior who’s happiest with one good walk a day and then lounging the rest of the time. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and in good health. Otis needs a very specific, safety-focused setup: an adult-only home with no small children (including visiting) and no other pets, and someone comfortable managing a strong dog with clear boundaries.  The perfect home for Otia would also need to have experince with his brred.  This senior gentleman will be an excellent addition to the right family.   To learn more about Otis and request an application please reach out to Vivienne by email at  vivienneajames@gmail.com or text 615-943-7311.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  March 12, 2026, 6:44 pm

Story
Sadie was a last minute rescue from the PG County Animal Shelter and she is an absolute peach. Affectionate. Loving. However, she is an absolute ball of energy and it is way too much for my elder statesman German Shephard. Despite insane amounts of exercise and attention, she needs more and I just don’t have the hours or bandwidth to give it. It is with heavy heart that I feel as though I need to look for other options while trying to make this work at the same time. zeronaggression. No known bite history. She has a Cherry Eye which I would be willing to help cover the repair of. I think she could benefit from a home with younger dogs she can play with or a yard. Sadie is a dainty 35 pounds. The shelter says she is 2 but I am very skeptical. I think she is MUCH younger. She loves people and I think would be a great work from home companion. Would be excellent in a home with older children as she is still a bit mouthy. Potty trained zero accidents in the house.

Story
Current Location: Strasburg, VA Female Estimated date of birth: 9/5/25 Meet Solace Solace and her brother Echo were found on their own, abandoned and struggling to find enough food to get by. It was not the start any puppy deserves. But here is the thing about Solace. Not one moment of it touched her spirit. Even when she arrived at the shelter thin and in need of so much, her warmth shone through so completely and so immediately that there was simply no missing who she was. She has since put on the weight she so desperately needed and she is thriving, a beautiful white and fawn girl with short soft fur, the most expressive eyes you have ever seen, an adorable pink nose, and an all white face that looks like it was put together with extra care and intention. Solace is 7 months old and chock full of pure resilience and joy. She loves people, all people, new ones included, and she greets everyone with the same open and generous heart, completely intent on giving and receiving as much affection as the moment will allow. She is a snuggler and a cuddler and a leaner and a kisser and she will find a way to be as close to you as physically possible because closeness is simply how Solace experiences love. There is something about her that feels like both hope and peace at the same time. She carries her past lightly and her joy heavily. She is not looking back. She is looking forward to absolutely everything and somehow also perfectly content to be exactly where she is right now, soaking up this moment and the next and the one after that. She and Echo weathered something hard together and came through it with their faith in people and in the future completely intact. That kind of spirit is not something you stumble across every day. Solace did not just survive her start. She rose above it with grace and a wagging tail and a pink nosed smile that will absolutely undo you the first time you see it. She is ready to bring every bit of that warmth and resilience into a forever home and fill it with the kind of comfort and joy that her name promises. She has already proven she can get through anything. Now she just wants to enjoy everything.

Story
Ode to Joy!! That is what Waverlie is at her fosters home. She is playing with pups, loving on her foster mom and enjoying all the treats and sweets that her new life brings. She is a small 38 pound 1 year old who is ready for walks, hikes and frisbee games. She loves to be cared for and is very affectionate in return. Waverlie enjoys her toys and bones and is responsive to training . She is a goofball with a constant smile on her face. Housetrained and crate trained . Another playful dog is required for Waverlie and a fenced yard would be awesome for her. But most important is the love that your family will give her. Waverlie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on all preventatives. The adoption fee for this dog is $450. Application for adoption: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FRE/Dog If you are viewing on Petfinder/Adoptapet and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this dog please visit our website, www.frecklesfoundation.org. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
Meet Hank! Hank is a one-year-old Bull Terrier mix weighing in at 58 pounds of pure love and personality. This handsome guy is a total bonder—once he’s yours, he’s all yours, and he’ll happily stick by your side through every part of the day. He has perfect manners in the house and will sleep in a crate or in a dog bed. Hank is a playful pup who absolutely loves his toys. Whether it’s a game of fetch in the yard or a fun play session with his dog friends, he’s always ready to have a good time. He’s social with other dogs and enjoys having buddies to romp around with. He’s also lived with cats and children and has done wonderfully with both, showing his gentle and affectionate side at home. Hank can be a little cautious when meeting new people, so he’ll need slow, proper introductions to feel comfortable. Once he warms up, though, his sweet and loyal personality really shines through. If you’re looking for a devoted, fun-loving companion who will be your biggest fan, Hank just might be your perfect match. Hank is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care.
