Story
Rita is a beautiful calico girl, estimated to be around 3 years old and weighing approximately 9 pounds. She is gentle, affectionate, calm, and trusting. She is fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, and on revolution. She is currently still living on the streets, where she comes every day for food and affection. Despite her life outdoors, she has remained gentle, trusting, and deeply connected to people. Rita has a low to moderate energy level and enjoys a calm, peaceful environment. She has a quiet, gentle presence and is not demanding or hyper. She loves being pet, leans into your touch, and will gently weave between your legs asking for affection. She allows herself to be picked up and held, remaining calm and relaxed in your arms. Although she is independent, Rita enjoys companionship and likes being near her person. She would do well as an only cat as long as she has human company and is not left alone for long periods. She gets along well with the other cats in her colony and has never shown aggression. She does not fight, does not compete, and prefers harmony. She has not had direct contact with dogs but can see them through a gate and remains calm and unbothered. Because she comes from the street, Rita would do best with a family that has experience with cats and understands the adjustment period. She is ready to leave her outdoor life behind and live exclusively indoors, where she will finally be safe. With proper introduction, she is expected to adapt well to a litter box and indoor life. Rita was a devoted mother who raised her babies on the streets, protecting them and making sure they survived. Today, her babies are safe — Bigotes has been adopted, and Francisco is in foster. Now Rita is the one still waiting. She gave everything to her babies. Now she deserves someone who will choose her!

Story
Petie and Nutmeg are a mother and son duo. They both love attention, to bet pet and are very affectionate. Petie also enjoys sitting on laps and getting belly rubs. They are both playful, but Nutmeg really enjoys playing. These gorgeous cats have remained close their entire lives, cuddling and grooming each other. Nutmeg is very cat selective and is only truly comfortable with Petie. Due to this we feel that they would be happiest as the only pets in their home. They need a special family to give cats with few prospects a loving home. Petie requires litter that isn't dusty for his allergies (we use walnut or world's best) and eats a prescription diet to prevent crystals.  Nutmeg has an old, healed leg injury that left her with a small limp.  She can still jump and get around without issue. Nutmeg was born 11/1/2014 and Petie was born on 6-1-2015 and they are located in Patchogue, NY.  To Foster or Adopt Petie & Nutmeg: fill out an application on our website at www.jensadoptablecats.com/applications.  ##525097##

Story
Meet Carmella! Born December, 2024 Look at this sweet female cat! Carmela is as beautiful as her name and is a white and orange tripod, who is learning human touch and love for the first time. Carmella was rescued off the streets with her 2 sweet little boys who have gone to their forever home. Now it's time for this special girl to learn to relax and enjoy the warmth and safety of indoor cat life! Carmella is getting lots of one-on-one time with her foster mom, and learning to seek out affection, which gets her lots of pets, ear rubs and chin scratches. Carmella is still a little hesitant, and would benefit from a patient home where she can decompress and explore and be the queen of the castle. While Carmella enjoys quiet companionship and likes to stretch out next to you on the couch, she is also comfortable on her own. She loves snuggling into the cave up in her cat tree and finding soft sunny spots for afternoon napping. Carmella has not met small children and is still learning boundaries, and will occasionally gently swat if she feels to overstimulated, but will quickly come back to you when she feels comfortable again. She would do well as an only cat for now, given her slightly skittish nature, with the potential for a new fur friend down the road. Carmella has given so much love to her babies, this sweet mama deserves her chance for love too! To adopt Carmella complete or adoption application here-https://www.tenderlovingcats.org/adoption-application.html After the application is approved, you can meet her in her Foster’s home.
