Story
Checkers’ littermates were all adopted months ago. She’s now one year old, and she is still waiting to find her forever home! If you aren’t able to adopt her, please share her story!
Checkers and her siblings were rescued when found outdoors by a volunteer. Despite getting a late start on socialization, Checkers has made a lot of progress, and blossomed in her foster home! She can still be leery of strangers, but once she becomes comfortable with someone, she is quite friendly and affectionate.
Checkers loves to climb in her foster mom’s lap. She will also follow around her foster mom, sometimes even wrapping herself around her foster mom’s legs, trying to take each step with her. She loves head scratches and belly rubs, which often prompt her to purr and roll around. She also likes to give nuzzles and head butts.
Due to her slightly chonky figure, this adorable girl has been nicknamed Chubby Checkers. As you can see in the photos, she has an expressive face and often appears wide-eyed. Her pink toe beans match her bright, pink nose, and her foster mom says her tuxedo fur coat is super soft and silky.
Checkers is also very playful, active, and curious. She loves interacting with the other cats/kittens in her foster home, and she would like to be adopted into a home with another young kitty! If you don’t have a kitty playmate for her, we have some other kitties around her age that are also available for adoption. Checkers’ hobbies include playing with strings, looking out windows, rolling around in catnip, and watching YouTube videos featuring birds and other critters.
Checkers has been fully vetted - tested, spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and she’s currently living in a foster home in the Columbus area. To ease her transition, we are ideally seeking an adoptive home that is similar to Checkers’ foster home - a quiet home with a patient and experienced cat parent and without young children or dogs.
If you're located in Ohio, and you’re interested in meeting/adopting Checkers, please submit an application online via https://www.forgotten4paws.com/adopt-adoptform. Applicants can also request to foster-to-adopt (meaning a cat can be fostered on a trial basis before making a decision to adopt). If you have any questions, send an email to contactusforgotten4paws@yahoo.com.
