They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection.  FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. Hi, my name is Tempest. I came to Cozy Cat with my babies in 2024. We were all very scared when we first arrived. Over time, my babies started trusting humans and found homes. I'm not quite there. I tend to avoid people when it's busy and if someone gets in my space, I hiss to let them know they are too close. When it's quiet, I don't mind if someone sits by me and talks to me as long as they don't try to touch me.

Atia is a beautiful Torti with the birthday of April 5, 2023. She is a mother who gave birth to her babies outdoors on someone’s porch in the Hilltop. She was brought into the shelter with her babies. Atia has a lot of friends at the shelter, mostly Joey’s crew. Atia is still learning to trust people and struggles in loud environment when someone is trying to touch her without asking for her permission. She is still learning that hands can mean love, not fear. She’s made big strides already and would thrive in a calm home with someone who understands the beauty of going slow.She’s looking for someone who understands that the best things in life take time — a calm home, patience and understanding that she may need time to adjust.
