Calico kittens & cats in Oregon

(This is a long one so buckle up because I have so much to say about this special girl) Lu has brought so many cuddles to our life’s for 5 and a half years. She’s a very sweet but shy girl. She’s an indoor cat that has lots of interest in looking out open doors and soaking up the sun. My husband found Lu as a small kitten, maybe 6 weeks old. She was brought home to a house of two dogs, one cat and our at the time 6 month old baby. We got Lu fixed a few months after she was brought home.   To this day our big fluffy girl likes to spend most of her time curled up on her bed in our closet where it’s quiet. Lu loves to make her presence known when our dogs aren’t around. She loves to cuddle up on the couch with me especially if I have a blanket and bed time is her favorite. That’s when she’ll talk and nudge you for pets.   Unfortunately for Lu our house has always been overwhelming for her. Although our dogs don’t bother her often, she does not enjoy their presence especially in this last year. We’ve tried pheromone sprays and taken her to the vet to make sure her health is in order. But our dogs are just very high energy and unfortunately that isn’t something we can change to help Lu not feel so overwhelmed.   Lu has always gotten along with our other cat and might do fine with an older not so high energy dog. Lu’s never had a problem with children but she has not been handled by any because of how shy she is. She has claws but doesn’t know how to use them lol. She’s always been very easy to pick up and hold.  I’d love to see Lu go to a much calmer environment where she can get all the cuddles and attention she wants, when she chooses.   Lu will definitely let you know when she’s hungry by following you around and talking to you especially if you’re close to her food bowl! She has a special blanket and small scratching post that we’d like her to take to a new home once we find that perfect place! She truly is such an amazing girl and I wish we didn’t need to find her a new home. My name is Gigi. I am looking for a new loving home and someone to love. I'm sad My best friend, owner, past away suddenly. I'm soft and fluffy and love to cuddle.

These two beautiful littermates have been together since birth.  They miss their elderly owner whom they spent 24/7 on her lap.  Sadly, the owner passed away a year ago and the family can't keep them any longer as they are limited to the number of cats they already own, per landlord. Yvette and Yvonne are very shy of strangers and would need a lot of love, compassion, and patience from their next owner.  Currently, they spend all their time on the adult granddaughter's bed.     They will need a calm and quiet home environment with a cat-savvy person who is retired and has plenty of time and a huge understanding of cats, preferably an older woman.  One who would be happy just to watch them from afar, at the beginning. They have the option to go outside from time to time on their own, but need to be inside only for at least 3 month period to get acclimated to their new home before allowing outside.  A Catio would be ideal, but a cat tree in front of a picture window to view their new world would suffice.  Cat scratchers are a must.   Yvonne likes playing with the red dot. Yvette comes when called. Neither like being picked up and the family respected that.  Yvonne likes light petting on the head and back and Yvette likes pets around the head and will headbutt you, wanting more.  Both were fixed at a year old and were recently vaccinated with FVRCP (treats/prevents distemper, Herpes, URI) and Rabies, in January and February 2024. They are flea-treated monthly and dewormed prophylactically. And they will be microchipped upon adoption. Yvonne occasionally gets eye discharge probably due to herpes zoster and will have eye treatment meds provided. Hello applicants!  Meet our adorable Angelina.  This sweet girl is just perfect!  She loves all humans, cats and gets along with dogs too.  Angelina like many other Spring Branch Rescue intakes was found on the streets of Houston.  Probably dumped or got away from her home.  When we took her in she had a litter of kittens with her.  We have been able to find homes for all except this amazing girl.  She is fully housebroken and extremely obedient.  She will do great in any living situation.  Her transition from our foster home to yours should be a very easy one.  Our dear Angelina is FIV positive.  You take a chance when rescuing a cat that they will be FIV positive.  Back in the days it was a death sentence for them as many were not educated enough on this.  THERE is nothing bad about FIV.  WE love our FIV intakes!  They live long happy lives.  They will require a little more attention to upper respiratory issues.  Kinda like someone who has allergies.  You will need to stablish a relationship with a vet and keep up with all your yearly shots as expected.  FIV cats can live with other FIV cats and Dogs.  Unfortunately, cats that have FIV cannot live with those that do not have it.  Some adopters have adopted in the past and kept up with yearly shots for their health cats.  That's up to you as an adopter.  We have to let you know what we were told by our vet.  We have found homes for so many!!!  Absolutely NOTHING bad with their adoptions.  Lived long happy lives.  Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue?
