Story
These two beautiful littermates have been together since birth.  They miss their elderly owner whom they spent 24/7 on her lap.  Sadly, the owner passed away a year ago and the family can't keep them any longer as they are limited to the number of cats they already own, per landlord. Yvette and Yvonne are very shy of strangers and would need a lot of love, compassion, and patience from their next owner.  Currently, they spend all their time on the adult granddaughter's bed.     They will need a calm and quiet home environment with a cat-savvy person who is retired and has plenty of time and a huge understanding of cats, preferably an older woman.  One who would be happy just to watch them from afar, at the beginning. They have the option to go outside from time to time on their own, but need to be inside only for at least 3 month period to get acclimated to their new home before allowing outside.  A Catio would be ideal, but a cat tree in front of a picture window to view their new world would suffice.  Cat scratchers are a must.   Yvonne likes playing with the red dot. Yvette comes when called. Neither like being picked up and the family respected that.  Yvonne likes light petting on the head and back and Yvette likes pets around the head and will headbutt you, wanting more.  Both were fixed at a year old and were recently vaccinated with FVRCP (treats/prevents distemper, Herpes, URI) and Rabies, in January and February 2024. They are flea-treated monthly and dewormed prophylactically. And they will be microchipped upon adoption. Yvonne occasionally gets eye discharge probably due to herpes zoster and will have eye treatment meds provided. We are asking for an adoption fee of $220 for the pair and we will deliver them to their new home.   This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Your information will be forwarded to the owner for follow-ups and meeting arrangement.  Cat's Cradle is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue serving Oregon cats who need new homes. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the cats in our care. We invite you to become a foster parent and experience the great satisfaction of helping a cat or kitten in need.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2024, 9:31 pm

Story
“Meet “$h1th3ad-She’s-a-Kitten”- goes by Kitten, a delightful calico-torti Domestic Shorthair with a heartwarming story. Found abandoned on the streets of Houston, she was rescued and has since become a cherished companion. Despite her tough start, Harley is incredibly trusting, quickly forming bonds with humans who show her love and care. With a clean bill of health from her last check-up, she's a picture of feline vitality, enjoying the sun on her enclosed deck, chasing crinkle-balls, and burrowing under blankets.   Harley is an independent spirit who loves lap time and the freedom to explore her surroundings. She's a kibble enthusiast and has a particular fondness for seafood. Her purr is as loud as a coffee percolator, and she's a master at tolerating claw trims. Although she has her quirks, her affectionate nature and playful spirit make her the perfect companion for the right home. If you're looking for a loving, spirited feline friend, Harley is ready to bring joy and warmth to your home. Plus, her self-sufficient habits and love for sunny afternoons make her an easy and delightful addition to the right  household. The right person for Kitten is an individual or family who respects her as her own person and won’t drag her around or overly manhandle her. Her new human likely works from home or is retired so spends a lot of facetime with her and doesn’t have any other animals to negotiate territory with. ”   She prefers lap time, over manual snuggling. She likes to burrow so if you think she’s missing, she might be under blankets. When she purrs, she purrs ridiculously loudly and sounds much like a coffee percolator if you’ve ever heard one.  It takes 2-3 rounds to trim all of her claws but she’s tolerant for 2-3 clips at a time.   For the right family I’ll provide her with a all of the supplies I have for her, including her “Natural Balance” Limited Ingredient cat kibble and all the softfood I have for her. We have a high-end water and cat box that are both plumbed directly into water and waste that require very little effort to maintain.  The cat box (Cat Genie) needs to be cleaned once a month but otherwise it washes and dries its crystal granules itself, flushing all waste remains down a drainpipe—and a water dish that self-refills-itself with fresh cool water all throughout the day and I’d be happy to pass these along to whoever adopts her if they want it. March 27, 2024, 6:24 am
