Story
Akoa is about 1 year old. My other cat escaped the house and got pregnant- this was her only living baby. We kept her out of guilt, but unfortunately can not keep her. She is very sweet with a little feisty side. We have a 2 year old who does not know how to keep his hands to himself and hurts her and results in her hurting him. This is why we are rehoming her.

Story
Cairo (AKA Kai-Kai) is a BEAUTIFUL 11 year old Torbie with a pretty chill - pleasing personality. She can be a bit chatty at times. She LOVES playing with a couple toys, taking naps and sitting on the love seat next to Mom while watching TV. An alternative to watching TV is interactive play with the fishing pole toy. The patio TV door is also a great place to chill and watch the neighborhood dogs and their people walk by. Pets & head scratches in the morning and evening are required on demand - but only until she informs that she has had enough.Sleeping at the foot of Moms bed (or head of the bed or under the covers leaning against Mom) is a great place to spend the night, unless of course wander-lust takes over. Then it is off to the patio TV to watch the nocturnal adventures of local birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc.Cairo is shy around new folks coming into the home and HATES the VAC-COOM! Hiding under the bed is the only safe space when the VAC-COOM starts up! Thunderstorms are ho-hum no big deal. Cairo is up tp date on shots, etc. She is a little chunky and we are trying to help her drop some weight. She likes flaked fish flavor, fancy feast ( can per day) and no more than cup kibble per day. She does receive a Churu or Delectable treat - one every few days.Cairo would like to be adopted as the only cat but we also feel like she would get along with other cats and respectful dogs with proper introductions.  *This kitty has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. If you would like to meet this kitty please fill out an application for adoption at https://www.kindredkitties.org/cat-adoption An approved application must be on file before we will arrange for a meeting with kitties in foster care. Adoption fees for our kittens 9 weeks to 1 year are $150 for one kitten. Adoption fees for adults (over a year) are $100. Thank you for considering a Kindred Kitty.

Name: Delphinium Breed:  CalicoDOB: 10/21/2021Good with kids: YESGood with dogs: YESGood with cats: YESFoster location:  Elgin, IL Adoption fee: $125 Fun Bio:  If interested in a pet from us please fill out the adoption application that is located on our website.  We process applications in the order in which they are received.   We always recommend playtime, positive reinforcement training and a regular schedule for feeding times when bringing a new cat/kitten into your home. Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!Included in the adoption fee are age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing (done at 26 weeks), deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and microchip. Anti-Declawing Policy:All cats and kittens will have a no declaw policy in their adoption contract with us! Declawing is a series of bone amputations.  Declawing is more accurately described by the term de-knuckling and is not merely the removal of the claws, as the term “declawing” implies.  In humans, fingernails grow from the skin, but in animals that hunt prey, the claws grow from the bone; therefore, the last bone is amputated so the claw cannot re-grow.  Declawing is one of the most painful, routinely performed procedures in all of veterinary medicine.  Each toe of the cat is amputated at the first joint.  Declawing a cat is equivalent in a person to amputating the entire first knuckle of every finger.  Declawing is done strictly for the benefit of the owner.  There are NO benefits to the cat and NO good reasons to declaw. Declawing can lead to behavior changes.  A declawed cat has no way to defend itself and may resort to biting more often.  Due to pain, they may stop using the litter box.  There are humane alternatives to declawing.  Cats can be trained to use scratching posts.  They should have their nails trimmed regularly.  There is double sided sticky tape that can be put on furniture to deter a cat from scratching there.  There are also nail caps called Soft Paws that are glued onto a cat's nail without harm.   ##2717054##
