Story
Akoa is about 1 year old. My other cat escaped the house and got pregnant- this was her only living baby. We kept her out of guilt, but unfortunately can not keep her. She is very sweet with a little feisty side. We have a 2 year old who does not know how to keep his hands to himself and hurts her and results in her hurting him. This is why we are rehoming her.

Story
Cairo (AKA Kai-Kai) is a BEAUTIFUL 11 year old Torbie with a pretty chill - pleasing personality. She can be a bit chatty at times. She LOVES playing with a couple toys, taking naps and sitting on the love seat next to Mom while watching TV. An alternative to watching TV is interactive play with the fishing pole toy. The patio TV door is also a great place to chill and watch the neighborhood dogs and their people walk by. Pets & head scratches in the morning and evening are required on demand - but only until she informs that she has had enough.Sleeping at the foot of Moms bed (or head of the bed or under the covers leaning against Mom) is a great place to spend the night, unless of course wander-lust takes over. Then it is off to the patio TV to watch the nocturnal adventures of local birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc.Cairo is shy around new folks coming into the home and HATES the VAC-COOM! Hiding under the bed is the only safe space when the VAC-COOM starts up! Thunderstorms are ho-hum no big deal. Cairo is up tp date on shots, etc. She is a little chunky and we are trying to help her drop some weight. She likes flaked fish flavor, fancy feast ( can per day) and no more than cup kibble per day. She does receive a Churu or Delectable treat - one every few days.Cairo would like to be adopted as the only cat but we also feel like she would get along with other cats and respectful dogs with proper introductions.  *This kitty has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. If you would like to meet this kitty please fill out an application for adoption at https://www.kindredkitties.org/cat-adoption An approved application must be on file before we will arrange for a meeting with kitties in foster care. Adoption fees for our kittens 9 weeks to 1 year are $150 for one kitten. Adoption fees for adults (over a year) are $100. Thank you for considering a Kindred Kitty.

Story
She has to have a home with people who can give her more attention than I can. She can’t live with other animals. She doesn’t like children, but she loves her person and wants to always be by said person. She’s a talker for sure (and I mean EXTREMELY talkative) she’s very loving, but I cannot give her the time and attention she needs. Preferably an older folk or couple would do her well. Anyone that has lots of time. Shes approximately 4 going on 5 years old. She was rescued from Kentucky and came to Milwaukee with the tip of her tail missing. She loves anything with feathers, little furry balls and CHICKEN. (She just loves food more than anything in this world really) I have a litter box to give, a food dispenser, toys and little odds and ends that can go along with her.

Story
Meet Graffiti! She is a young masterpiece with a personality as fun and unique as her name! At around 10 months old, this playful girl is full of kitten energy and curiosity. She loves exploring her surroundings, chasing toys, and turning everyday moments into her own little adventures. Graffiti is affectionate, silly, and always ready to brighten your day with her playful antics. Once she’s gotten her zoomies out, she’s more than happy to curl up nearby for a nap or some well-earned cuddle time. Like many young cats, she’s still learning about the world around her and would thrive in a home that will continue to give her love, patience, and plenty of enrichment. She would do great with someone looking for a fun, interactive companion who can keep them smiling. Whether she’s batting around toys, climbing to the highest perch she can find, or simply showing off her adorable personality, Graffiti is impossible not to love. If you’re looking to add a little color, chaos, and cuddles to your life, Graffiti may be the perfect fit for you!   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11:00-3:00pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Story
Meet Maxine – A Calico lovebug with a joyful spirit! With her striking tri-color coat, Maxine is a truly unique beauty. Calico cats aren’t a breed but a rare genetic marvel, and they’ve long been considered symbols of good luck and good fortune around the world. Many are known for their bold, “sassy” personalities -- but Maxine? She’s all charm, confidence and affection — without the spice. Just pure sweetness. From the moment she arrived in her foster home, Max, who's 1, made herself completely at ease. No hiding, no hesitation—just a friendly, curious girl ready to be part of the action. She’s incredibly social and thrives on being around her people. Whether she’s following you from room to room, chatting with her adorable little meows, or gently insisting that you sit back down so she can reclaim her spot in your lap, Maxine makes it clear: Life is absolutely better together. And speaking of laps—Max is a top-tier snuggler. She loves curling up close, soaking in pets (especially those coveted belly rubs), and will happily settle in for as long as you’ll let her. If you try to get up too soon, don’t be surprised if she objects in the cutest way possible (little meows) and trails after you, hoping you’ll reconsider. When she’s not busy being your shadow, Maxine shows her playful spark. She loves chasing balls, batting at string toys, zooming around with joyful energy and enjoying her meals with enthusiasm.  Max is also wonderfully friendly with other animals. She’s been easygoing with another cat in her foster home—even when that friendliness wasn’t returned—and must have a companion in the home who matches her welcoming nature. She may also do well with cat-savvy dogs, thanks to her confident, social personality. Her dream home is one filled with connection—whether that’s a busy household or one in which her person works from home and can supply the attention she craves. Maxine doesn’t just want to be in your home—she wants to be at the heart of it. Sweet, snuggly, spirited and devoted, Max radiates warmth and will bring love and maybe even a little extra luck, into your life. If you’re looking for a companion who will adore you, Max is ready to make your home her happily-ever-after. Story
Meet Talladega! Talladega’s story started in a pretty unusual place—he was found tucked inside the bumper of a car by a couple returning to their campsite after spending the day at the races. Tiny, scared, and painfully skinny, this little boy had a rough beginning, but you would never know it now. These days, Talladega has transformed into a total biscuit-making Velcro kitty who wants nothing more than to be close to his people at all times. He absolutely loves laps, cuddles, pets, and attention, and he will happily curl up beside you, on your shoulder, or in your lap the moment you sit down. If you’re looking for a kitten who truly bonds with his humans, Talladega is your boy. Talladega would thrive in a calmer home where he can feel safe and connected to his people. He would do especially well with someone who works from home or spends a lot of time around the house, since he genuinely enjoys companionship and being part of everyday life. Because he is sensitive to noise and commotion, he would likely do best in a quieter home without young children or dogs. Talladega is also very fond of to his best friend, Ellie Mae, and would love to be adopted with her if possible. Talladega will be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption, but is available for foster-to-adopt to the right family now. If you’re looking for a deeply affectionate companion with a resilient spirit and a huge heart, Talladega may be the perfect addition to your family. Go to @forrescue.net to fill out an application.
