Mishka is a 2 year old gorgeous Cane Corso. She is a little insecure when she first meets new friends, but once she trusts that she is safe, she is a giant baby. This big moose loves deeply and gets soo excited when her favorite people get anywhere near her. If she hears you wake up in the morning, her giant club of a tail starts thumping the ground while she lays there waiting for her morning huggies. She then goes into full body wiggle mode because she can’t contain her excitement that her favorite person is right there with her. She loves to run in the yard and she is a total cuddle bug. She’s not an “everyone” dog, but when she picks her people, she loves so deeply that you can feel it. We weren’t even at the shelter looking for her. We were there for another dog when I noticed this big, beautiful girl sitting quietly in the corner. I stopped at her kennel, and she immediately leaned her whole body into me. Then I realized why. I’Lean was missing her foot right above her hawk. After asking the shelter staff about her, we learned there were no plans to amputate or provide the surgery she desperately needed. We couldn’t leave her there like that. So I’Lean became ours. We got her out, got her the medical care and amputation she needed, and she went into an incredible foster home where she has healed, adjusted to life as a tripod, and shown us exactly who she really is. And who is I’Lean? She is a 2½-year-old beautiful silky brindle Cane Corso, professional couch potato, certified cuddle bug, and approximately 110% convinced she is a 5 pound lap dog. She can be timid at first, but once she knows you, she is the sweetest little shadow. I’Lean is a total Velcro dog. If you get up, she gets up. If you move rooms, she’s coming too. If you sit on the couch, congratulations — you now have a Cane Corso attached to you. 😂❤️ And being down one back leg certainly hasn’t taken away her sense of humor. This girl has perfected what we lovingly call “the I’Lean drift.” 😂 When she takes a corner, sometimes that back end just slides right around with her. 🏎️💨 She’s also VERY food motivated, which makes winning her over and working with her pretty darn easy. And apparently our girl believes in a balanced diet because she LOVES fruits and vegetables. No worrying about convincing this girl to eat healthy — I’Lean said pass the produce. For her forever home, we would love a family who understands that although I’Lean is incredibly capable as a tripod, her body works a little differently. An open, easy-to-navigate layout would be wonderful for her, along with a family who is happy living life at her speed. But more than anything? She wants her people. People she can follow from room to room. People she can lean against. A couch with enough room for one very large “lap dog.” Movie nights. Snacks. Belly rubs. And someone who will laugh when she drifts around the corner to make sure they haven’t gone anywhere. ❤️ I’Lean leaned into me that first day at the shelter when she needed someone. Now we’re hoping she gets to spend the rest of her life leaning into someone who will never leave her. 🥹❤️

We rescued her from a parking lot. Brought her home we have tried, but I’m older and she’s too much puppy for me. She really needs a family and more attention than I can give her and I don’t feel like it’s fair to keep her. She needs a much better life than she’ll have with me.
