Hello Nice Peoples my name is Rufus! No one really knows my back story, just that I was dumped by an evil person on the side of a mountain where I managed to survive for WEEKS. Some super nice Ladies saw me and tried and tried and TRIED until one day they managed to capture me and that was one of the best days of my life, I didn't have to worry about packs of coyotes, mountain lions, etc and I was finally fed a REAL MEAL. They took me to the shelter in case somehow I got loose/lost so my owners could find me. NO. ONE. EVER. CAME. I got lucky because this rescue knew my story of how I lived in those hills ALONE and now I was at the pound while we are having a major shelter crisis, so they bailed me out of jail-yahoooooo!!!! They took me to a vet to get treated and then off to training so I can be the BEST DOGGO! I'm a 1-2 year old male Cane Corso and I have the most stunning brindle coat, I'm fixed, microchipped, and up to date on shots too! I need to gain a few pounds and I will end up being around 100 pounds so if Big Boys are your thing maybe we are a good fit?? Plus, I've been professionally trained and am crate and potty trained too! The rescue is still getting to know me so right now I'd be best as the only doggo in the house and no small pets or small kids. Don't let her occasionally shy exterior fool you--once she gets the lay of the land, Sheryl will be letting that nubbin wag non stop when she's by your side. Sheryl is more of a "sit and be fit" kind of dog, but makes time to enjoy short neighborhood walks--if she must. So if daily dog walks aren't really your thing, no biggie in Sheryl's book. It's really the yard where she comes alive, practicing her (gentle) WWE moves with her canine foster sibling. Sheryl loves, loves, loves other dogs and would prefer to go home with other animals in the home. Large dogs, small dogs, you name it, she likes it. And, she's even met young children and thinks their antics are no big deal. What a queen! BTW - You may notice that her eyes look a little different. Sheryl has a condition called cherry eye. Luka is handsome, 4 years old, pure breed Corso. We have had him since he was 4 weeks old, and he grew among four human siblings. When the youngest was two years old, he's amazing with kids. Luka, by his nature as Corso, is a protective and will always be alert when around us, yet he's not aggressive at all, and we never had any issues with him. Luka is a house dog, and he sleeps inside. When we're home, he'll always prefer to stay in with us, rather than go outside. Luka is a big dog and comes with big mess, saliva, seasonal hair loss, etc.. and you need to exept it as an un-seperate part of raising him. We wish Luka to find a new, loving, and caring family.
