Story
Hi, I’m Eloise and I’m new to the rescue.  I'm on a medical hold while I receive some needed treatment.  Soon I'll be ready for my forever home so please click adopt to get your application approved. Dog’s Name: Eloise Location: Oswego, Il Date of Birth: 02/21/2018 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Blue Brindle Dog's Weight: 100 Gets along with: Dogs?: Yes, large and medium only.  NO SMALL DOGS! Cats?: No Kids?: Yes Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Meet Eloise – Our Golden Girl with a Heart of Gold Miss Eloise may be a “golden girlie,” but don’t let her love of naps fool you — this sweet senior still has plenty of personality to share! Her comfy bed is definitely her favorite place to recharge, but the moment you offer a good ear scratch, she’s all in. And fair warning… the scratch session isn’t over until she says it’s over! Eloise takes life at a gentle, leisurely pace. She’s slow and steady getting up and down, but she truly enjoys spending time outdoors, especially when she can bask in the warm sunshine. Short walks are just her speed, and she is incredibly proper and polite on the leash — the definition of a well-mannered lady. She adores people and is wonderful with kids of all ages. Her calm, easygoing nature makes her an excellent match for a first-time giant breed owner. There’s no need for a fenced yard, as Eloise isn’t interested in running laps — she much prefers a peaceful stroll and a cozy spot to relax. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will happily trade zoomies for sunshine and snuggles, Eloise is ready to live her best, leisurely life right by your side. Story
Hi, I’m Periwinkle and I’m ready to find my forever home!  Dog’s Name: Periwinkle Location: Chicago, IL Date of Birth: 02/01/2023 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 76 Gets along with: Dogs?: Yes - with a slow introduction and no food present Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose leash Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides well in car Meet Periwinkle Periwinkle may have a delicate, whimsical name, but this sweet girl is all heart. She is an incredibly loving and devoted companion who forms strong bonds with her people and thrives when she’s close to them. When she’s with her trusted humans, her affectionate nature truly shines—she loves leaning in for scratches, soaking up gentle pets, and gazing into your eyes as if asking for reassurance and direction. Periwinkle is always eager to please and constantly looks to her person for guidance and approval. Because of how deeply she bonds with her people, Periwinkle struggles with being left alone. She becomes very anxious when separated and cannot safely be left in a crate, as she will try hard to escape and may hurt herself in the process. She will do best in a home where someone is present for much of the day and where she can stay close to her favorite people—she’s the kind of dog who happily follows you from room to room just to be near you. Periwinkle absolutely adores people and is friendly with strangers she meets. However, she can be uncomfortable around other dogs, especially while out on walks. Any introductions to other dogs should be slow, structured, and done without food present to avoid tension. With the right guidance and patient introductions, she can learn to feel more comfortable over time. Her ideal adopter will be a confident and experienced dog owner who understands how to guide and advocate for their dog during different encounters. Because of her needs, she is not recommended for a first-time dog owner. Instead, she would thrive with someone who is comfortable providing calm leadership, structure, and plenty of companionship. Periwinkle does not require a fenced yard or a large property, but she does need a home where her people are around often and where she can be included in daily life. She is happiest when she feels connected, supported, and safe with her family. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who will adore you endlessly and be by your side through every moment of the day, Periwinkle might just be your perfect match. With patience, understanding, and love, this devoted girl will reward her family with a lifetime of affection and companionship.
