Hi, I’m Eloise and I’m new to the rescue.  I'm on a medical hold while I receive some needed treatment.  Soon I'll be ready for my forever home so please click adopt to get your application approved. Dog’s Name: Eloise Location: Oswego, Il Date of Birth: 02/21/2018 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Blue Brindle Dog's Weight: 100 Gets along with: Dogs?: Yes, large and medium only.  NO SMALL DOGS! Cats?: No Kids?: Yes Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Meet Eloise Miss Eloise may be a golden girl, but don’t let that fool you—she has plenty of personality! As she has decompressed and settled into her foster home, her spunky and lovable side has really started to shine. While she may be a little slow to get moving at times, Eloise knows exactly what she wants… and she isn’t shy about letting you know! Eloise believes she deserves the royal treatment and will happily remind you when it’s time for attention. If you sit down, she takes that as her official invitation for ear scratches and affection. In fact, if you’re holding something in your hands, she may gently nudge it out of the way so you can focus on the important task at hand—loving her. Her sweet, demanding charm makes her impossible not to adore. She absolutely loves being outside and enjoys leisurely strolls where she can take in the sights and smells at her own pace. Eloise is happiest when she can relax near her people, soak up affection, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Thanks to her gentle nature and easygoing personality, Eloise would make a wonderful companion for a first-time giant breed owner. She would do well in many types of homes, including families with children or adults of any age who are looking for a loving and loyal companion. If you’re searching for a sweet, slightly sassy queen who will keep you smiling and ensure you never forget to give enough ear scratches, Eloise is ready to claim her throne in your heart and home. Hi, I’m Rafferty. I am ready to find my forever home! Dog’s Name: Rafferty Location: Green Bay, WI Date of Birth: 06/01/2025 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso Mix Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: 104 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?: No Kids?: Older kids or giant breed experienced younger kids Training: Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel with a treat as an incentive Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car: Doesn't like getting in the car, but rides well once in. Meet Rafferty! Rafferty is a sweet, loving pup who is full of personality and ready to bring joy to his forever home. He loves being around his people, whether he’s playing outside, gazing out the window, or soaking up attention. Rafferty is affectionate and social, and he has done very well meeting new people—always ready to share some happy licks! He does well in his crate and goes in without a fuss, though he will need a heavy-duty crate as he has figured out how to escape in the past. He may whine briefly but typically settles in nicely. Rafferty is still working on his leash skills, as he tends to get excited and a bit all over the place during walks. As a strong, growing pup, he doesn’t always realize his size, so continued training will be important. Like many puppies, Rafferty can get a little mouthy and may paw at you when excited, but he redirects very easily with toys and guidance. He is eager to learn and would thrive with consistent structure, training, and ongoing socialization to help him grow into a well-mannered adult. Rafferty would do best in a home with older children or kids who have experience with large breeds, as his size and enthusiasm can be a bit much for little ones. He does not require another dog but would do fine with one. A fenced yard is recommended to help him safely burn off energy and manage his curiosity about the world around him. Rafferty is a fun-loving, affectionate pup who just needs the right guidance and commitment to help him reach his full potential. In return, he’ll give you endless love, laughter, and a loyal companion for life. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Hi, I’m Periwinkle and I’m ready to find my forever home!  Dog’s Name: Periwinkle Location: Chicago, IL Date of Birth: 02/01/2023 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 76 Gets along with: Dogs?: Yes - with a slow introduction and no food present Cats?:  All cats Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose leash Crate Trained: Goes to crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides well in car Meet Periwinkle Periwinkle is a sensitive, loving girl who forms deep bonds with her people and thrives on connection and reassurance. While she can be anxious when left alone, especially in a crate, her true personality shines when she’s with her humans—affectionate, attentive, and eager to please. She leans in for scratches, gazes into your eyes for guidance, and is constantly looking to her person for direction and approval. Her devotion is truly special. Periwinkle loves meeting new people and is friendly with strangers, but she can be more selective with other dogs. She does best with slow, thoughtful introductions, especially without food present, and she is not a fan of encountering other dogs while on walks. Because of this, she would be happiest in a home where she can be the main focus or with very carefully managed canine interactions. Her ideal home would be with an experienced giant breed owner who understands how to support a dog with anxiety and can provide structure, patience, and consistency. She does not require a fenced yard, but she does need a family committed to helping her feel safe and secure. A home with older children is recommended due to her size and sensitivity. Periwinkle will flourish with someone who can be her steady anchor—offering guidance, companionship, and lots of love. In return, she’ll give you unwavering loyalty and a heart full of affection. Story
Hi, I’m Gumby and I’m ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Gumby Location: Plano, IL Date of Birth: 03/01/2025 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 110 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  All Cats  Kids?: All kids Training: Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Gumby Gumby was picked up by animal control extremely emaciated at just 89 lbs. Since entering care, he has gained over 20 lbs and is continuing to physically recover. While his body is healing, he is still working through a lot emotionally. Gumby is very skittish and will need a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to let him set the pace as he learns to trust and feel safe again. Once he begins to bond with his person, Gumby becomes a devoted “shadow dog” who wants to stay close and be part of your daily life. He is extremely food motivated, which will be a huge advantage in helping him build confidence and learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. However, personal space is something he doesn’t fully understand once trust is established, so his adopter should be comfortable with a very attached companion. When startled or overwhelmed, Gumby will retreat to his crate, which he uses as his safe space. Because of his fearfulness, he needs a calm environment and gentle exposure to new experiences at his own pace. He will thrive with consistency, routine, and a person who understands that progress may be slow but meaningful. Gumby would do best in a quiet household with minimal chaos. Older children would be best suited to his needs, as loud or unpredictable movements may overwhelm him. A calm, well-balanced dog sibling could be beneficial to help guide his confidence and provide reassurance as he adjusts. A fenced yard would also be helpful to give him a safe space to decompress and explore once he’s ready. He is not recommended for a first-time giant breed owner, as he needs someone with patience, experience with fearful or under-socialized dogs, and the ability to help him continue building confidence over time. With the right home, Gumby has the potential to blossom into an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion who deeply bonds with his person. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online.
