Meet Tank — A Survivor With a Gentle Heart
At one time, Tank had a family, a dog friend to play with, and children who loved him. But one day, they discarded him in a field like he meant nothing. No food, no water, no shelter. Just Tank… alone, confused, and waiting for a family that was never coming back. Tank survived on the run for weeks, terrified and starving before help finally reached him.
Tank is a gentle soul learning to trust again as he decompresses and discovers what it means to feel safe. Though he’s older, he acts younger than his age and still has plenty of playful, puppy-like energy. This sweet boy is a true Velcro dog—he wants to be wherever his people are, especially the kids. Children bring out his happiest, most confident self.
Tank knows his name, sit, and inside, and he's working hard every day to show just how smart and eager to please he is. He can be a little skittish when meeting new people, but he has a fantastic judge of character and warms up quickly once he senses kindness. Once he trusts you, he’s your loyal companion through and through.
Tank’s perfect match is a family with children—they’re his favorite humans, and he thrives in a home where he can soak up their affection. He gets along well with dogs and cats, and he would truly benefit from having another dog in the home to play with and help him burn off energy.
A fenced yard would be wonderful for Tank so he can run, explore, and play safely, but it isn’t a requirement for the right adopter.
He may not be the best fit for a first-time giant breed owner, only because he needs someone patient and willing to continue building his confidence—but an adopter familiar with gentle, positive reinforcement will help him blossom beautifully.
