Story
Hi, I’m Katerina and I'm ready to find my forever home.   Dog’s Name: Katerina Location: Ft. Atkinson, WI Date of Birth: 05/01/2025 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Black Dog's Weight: 80 Gets along with: Dogs?: Needs slow introduction Cats?:  Needs slow introduction Kids?:  All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Katerina, now known as Chloe, is an 8-month-old Cane Corso with a classic puppy spirit—big energy, a bold personality, and a whole lot of love to give. She’s already quite tall and still growing, so she’s going to be a big, powerful girl who will need continued structure, supervision, and consistent training to help her grow into a well-mannered adult. Like many puppies, Chloe gets excited and may jump, but the good news is she’s very responsive and listens immediately to a clear, timely “no.” She’s smart, curious, and always looking to learn—sometimes a little too curious, especially when it comes to unattended countertops! With guidance and consistency, she’s eager to please and quick to catch on. Chloe is also quite the athlete and an experienced escape artist. She can jump baby gates and lower fences, so a securely fenced yard and close supervision are a must. In her foster home, she lives comfortably with a 6-foot fence, which she has not attempted to jump. Her future family should be mindful of her strength and agility and ensure all barriers are sturdy and secure. She is crate-trained for bedtime and when her foster mom is away. She may need a few treats to encourage her to go in, but once settled—especially with the TV softly playing—she relaxes well. Chloe does require a heavy-duty kennel, as she can bend standard foldable crates.  While she doesn’t chew household items, she will try to pull anything within reach into her crate. When she’s not roughhousing, Chloe is a total sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and enjoys being close to her people and her canine companions. She adores tug-of-war and wrestling and would do well with a playful dog who can match her energy or a calm, laid-back dog who prefers to nap. Chloe is respectful of calmer dogs and happily adjusts her behavior, choosing to cuddle when that’s what they prefer. She currently lives with both types of foster siblings and adapts beautifully to each. Like many puppies, Chloe highly values her food, treats, and bones. She would do best enjoying these in a private space away from other animals to prevent any potential issues. She has never shown aggression toward people and has tremendous potential to become a loyal, loving companion in the right home. Chloe will thrive with an adopter who understands large-breed puppies and is committed to ongoing training, structure, and supervision. While she could be a good fit for a first-time giant-breed owner, it’s important that her adopter is willing to learn, stay consistent, and invest time into proper training and management. A securely fenced yard is strongly recommended, and a home that can provide both physical outlets and affectionate downtime will help her shine. With guidance, patience, and love, Chloe has all the makings of an incredible companion—devoted, affectionate, and full of personality. Story
Hi, I’m Iggy and I’m ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Iggy Location: Plano, IL Date of Birth: 5/1/2025 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso Color: Black Dog's Weight: Approximately 100 Gets along with: Dogs?: Yes Cats?:  Unknown Kids?:  Yes, older kids Training: Leash trained: Were working on it Crate/Kennel: Were working on it Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in car Meet Iggy! Iggy is a happy, energetic boy who’s right in the middle of learning what it means to be a well-mannered house dog. He listens very well and truly thrives with consistency and guidance. The former stray puppy in him is discovering life’s comforts — like how to play gently and that dog beds are for lounging (even though he still sometimes prefers a cool floor over blankets!). Iggy loves everyone, especially other dogs, and would happily try to make friends with every pup he sees. He balances bursts of playful energy with solid nap time, making him a fun yet manageable companion. He has good recall, is improving his leash manners, and is working through his excitement during walks. During the workday, Iggy does great being left in a room on his own — he does not chew or destroy items, which is a huge win for a young, active dog in training. Iggy would do best with an active family who can help him burn off energy and continue his training. Due to his size and enthusiastic jumping, a home with older children is recommended. He would absolutely love having another dog to romp and play with, though an active household committed to daily exercise would also be a great fit. A fenced yard would be a big bonus but isn’t required with proper exercise and structure. Iggy is a joyful, eager-to-learn boy who’s ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family by his side Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Hi, I’m Periwinkle and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Periwinkle Location: Chicago, IL Date of Birth: 02/01/2023 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 65 Gets along with: Dogs?: None Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: We're working on it Crate/Kennel:  We're working on it Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  We're working on it Meet Periwinkle Periwinkle is a deeply affectionate, people-oriented girl who thrives on closeness and connection. She seeks constant reassurance from her humans and will happily lean into you for snuggles, follow you from room to room, and curl up nearby just to know you’re there. Being close to her people is where she feels safest, and she truly bonds with her person. She’s incredibly intelligent — sometimes too smart for her own good — and has figured out how to open doors and food containers. Periwinkle is food-motivated and eager to learn, making her very responsive to positive reinforcement and treats. She enjoys running alongside you and does so politely, and she’ll let you know if someone enters the space or if she needs to go outside to potty. She’s also wonderfully kid-friendly and does great with children of all ages. Periwinkle does struggle with separation anxiety and can become distressed when left alone. Because of this, she needs a home where someone is around most of the time and can continue working patiently on confidence-building and independence. She may bark to alert and can be reactive toward other dogs, but with slow, thoughtful introductions she can coexist well — especially with dogs smaller than herself. Periwinkle needs an experienced, patient owner who is home frequently and understands anxiety and dog reactivity, and who can support her as she learns to feel safe and secure. A fenced yard is helpful but not required if her exercise and enrichment needs are met. While she may not be ideal for a first-time giant or anxious-dog owner, Periwinkle will absolutely flourish with the right person — rewarding them with unwavering loyalty, intelligence, and endless affection. If you’re looking for a constant companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Periwinkle just might be your perfect match. Story
If you like them B I G and docile, this is the gal for you. This sweet princess came in needing a second chance after she ended up with our shelter partner. Her and a few of her friends were removed from a property in need of a second chance. Shyly is big and sweet. She is shy until she knows you, but never offers any concerning behavior. She walks well on the leash, is comfortable in a kennel, and is just a big baby. She is fine with dogs that are not overly excited and jumping on her. She will coexist with a lower energy dog perfectly. Due to her size she would do best in a home with kids over 10. This girl is about 3 and still has so much life to live. If you want a friend to help you get outside this summer, she would love a family to head out and adventure with. Come meet his sweet girl.
