Story
Devine has been steadily showing everyone more and more of her personality, and watching her confidence grow has been genuinely rewarding. Outside of the kennel she has shown herself to be a sweet, affectionate girl who enjoys exploring, sniffing around, and spending time with people at her own pace. She has been easy to leash, enjoys getting outside, and has allowed handling and petting without issue. Volunteers have described her as wiggly, friendly, and excited to head out for walks and enrichment time. Shelter life has clearly been stressful for Devine at times, especially in the kennel environment, but she has made noticeable progress in a relatively short amount of time. Once she feels comfortable, her softer side comes through more and more. She seems like a dog who will thrive with patience, consistency, and a calmer home environment where she does not have to constantly process the noise and stimulation of shelter life. There is a thoughtful, sensitive dog underneath it all, and the people who take the time to earn her trust are already seeing how much potential she has to become a deeply loyal and loving companion. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. Story
Meltz may have started out feeling unsure about the world around him, but once he realized he was among friends, his true personality began to shine. Staff discovered a sweet, affectionate dog with a wiggly body, a soft heart, and a genuine love for human attention. During his time out of the kennel, he happily sought out pets, leaned into affection, and showed off the loose, happy body language of a dog who is ready to make connections. If you`re looking for a companion who wants to be close to his people, Meltz is already taking applications. His name might be Meltz, but he is the one who is likely to melt your heart. Staff have watched him transform from a nervous newcomer into a dog who eagerly seeks affection and enjoys spending time with people. That ability to bounce back and trust again is something special. Meltz is looking for a family that will continue helping his confidence grow while enjoying all the love and loyalty he has to offer. In return, they`ll gain a devoted companion who seems happiest when he`s sharing life`s adventures with someone by his side. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Story
Marius is the kind of dog who saves the best parts of his personality for the people who take the time to get to know him. At first he can be a little reserved, preferring to watch and assess new situations before diving in. But staff have discovered that once he starts to feel comfortable, a completely different dog begins to emerge. The shy observer turns into a sweet companion who seeks out affection, leans in for attention, and happily curls up close to the people he trusts. Watching that transformation unfold is one of the most rewarding things about spending time with him. As his confidence grows, so does his playful side. Staff have seen Marius chase toys, offer big loose tail wags, and gently ask for more pets when the attention stops. He has also done well meeting potential adopters, showing that he is capable of building new connections when given a little patience and understanding. Marius is looking for a family willing to let him settle in at his own pace, and the reward is a loyal, affectionate friend whose quiet devotion is worth every moment spent earning his trust. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Story
Harry is a big, lovable derpy dog who loves everyone he meets. Harry is about 85% potty trained and he’s 100% lapdog. He doesn't know how big he is, and wears his love on the outside. He is certainly a very happy dog if he has room to move. No fault of his own, Harry has been bounced around from home to home and did a couple tours of the city shelter when we stepped in and decided to give him a chance. Harry has had very little structure in his young life and he most likely missed the window of development when dogs learn to read other dogs. So, while he absolutely loves other dogs, he has no idea how to read body language. Because of this, Harry will need slow introductions and a tolerant dog friend to set him up for success when meeting other dogs. Harry has some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where he gets to go most places with his people or his people are home a lot. Harry also has no idea that he’s an 95 lb dog with more weight to put on. Because of Harry's large size and inability to read personal space, he would do better with a stronger person of stature. Harry thinks he is still a puppy and can easily be unpredictable with his joy. He's basically a lovable-wrecking ball in dog form. Harry has the stubbornness of a mastiff. If he doesn't want to do something he either plays "catch the mastiff" or "dead mastiff." Both can be frustrating, but also funny if you like that kind of thing. Most of what Harry is trying to avoid is being alone. You absolutely will not find a dog with a bigger heart than Harry. But I’m not gonna lie, he is A LOT. He’s got some baggage from being bounced around. He needs structure, patience, and time. And, of course, lots of love. Are you Harry’s person? Fill out an adoption application on our website, Sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org and we will set up a time to talk about him! *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy

Story
We’ve been fostering Hop since he was found wandering the streets. Unfortunately, his previous owner never came forward, so we’re determined to find him a forever home. Despite this setback, Hop seems to have been potty-trained, although he still occasionally marks things. We estimate he’s around 6 months old and has a penchant for chewing on anything he can get his paws on. Hard toys seem to withstand his chewing the best. Hop is an energetic jumper and will likely try to grab your arms during playtime, so patience and training will be essential. He’s met our German Shepherd and seems interested in playing with other dogs. Hop appears to be either a Cane Corso or a similar mastiff breed. He’s very lively and craves someone to love and spend time with. While we don’t have children in the household, Hop hasn’t shown any aggression towards anyone during walks, including kids.

Story
I will be very picky about who takes our sweet boy. He’s the most loving caring boy he’s very protective. He needs someone who will be stern with him and will need lots of love as he has been rehomed a few times in his short life. We were hoping to give him forever but our youngest has developed allergies to him and we’ve exhausted all other resources. He deserves to be somewhere where he can move around freely love and snuggle up on everyone. If you know you can give him a good loving home please do.
