Story
Meet this sweet and gentle girl named Ladi, she was mainly an outdoor pup in her original home so we do not know the extent of her experience in a home enviroment. She was said to not be a fan of the other dog in the home so she has some dog experience and may be dog selective and will need slow introductions after a time of decompression. She has said to have experience with a child and was said to enjoy spending time with the 6 year old. She knows the command `home` which tells her it`s time to go in her crate/kennel. Ladi will need someone willing to take things at her own pace and come out of her shell on her terms as she can be a bit shy meeting new people. If you are wanting to open your heart and your home to miss Ladi, please come to the shelter for a meet and greet!Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.

Story
Meet Marley!A 71lb, 2-year-old female Cane Corso with a gentle soul and an independent spirit. She can be quite skittish at first and prefers to take her time getting comfortable with new people and situations. But with patience, calm energy, and a little space, she’ll begin to trust you—always on her own terms.Marley loves her wet food and never turns down a tasty treat. She’s a girl who knows what she likes and moves at her own pace, making her perfect for someone who appreciates a more independent companion. Because she’s sensitive to touch, she doesn’t like being pet from behind and does best when people approach her gently and from the front. Her behavior around other dogs and cats is still unknown, so slow, careful introductions—or a home where she can be the only pet—may suit her best.Marley is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her blossom in her own time. If you’re willing to go slow and let her lead the way, she just might become your most loyal friend. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!
