Story
Meet Marley!A 71lb, 2-year-old female Cane Corso with a gentle soul and an independent spirit. She can be quite skittish at first and prefers to take her time getting comfortable with new people and situations. But with patience, calm energy, and a little space, she’ll begin to trust you—always on her own terms.Marley loves her wet food and never turns down a tasty treat. She’s a girl who knows what she likes and moves at her own pace, making her perfect for someone who appreciates a more independent companion. Because she’s sensitive to touch, she doesn’t like being pet from behind and does best when people approach her gently and from the front. Her behavior around other dogs and cats is still unknown, so slow, careful introductions—or a home where she can be the only pet—may suit her best.Marley is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her blossom in her own time. If you’re willing to go slow and let her lead the way, she just might become your most loyal friend. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!

Story
Name: Nyx Breed: Cane Corso Sex: Female Age: 9 months Spayed/Neutered: Yes! Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter. Heartworm: Negative Housetrained: Getting there. Microchipped: Yes Adoption Fee/Donation: $400 Important!! Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he’s older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy’s life. Do you have the time? Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter, heart worm test if applicable) microchip, worming and flea/tick/heart worm (if applicable) preventatives. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
