Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This brindle beauty is Penny! Penny is a 2 yr old, 65 pound Bully Mix. Penny is a playful and affectionate girl who has spent way too much of her short life in a kennel. Penny is adored by our volunteers, she loves to snuggle on the couch and really enjoys playing ball in the yard. She knows some commands, and is housebroken! But shelter life is really starting to take its toll on Penny. She has become very stressed and can get overwhelmed by too much stimulation. We are looking for an adopter that truly understands the needs of a Rescue Dog like Penny.  Someone who realizes that after months of being kenneled, Penny will need time to decompress. She will need time to feel truly comfortable in her new environment. We believe that given that time, Penny will blossom. We believe she will bond deeply with her person(s) and will be a loving and devoted companion. What Penny needs right now is someone willing to step up for this sweet girl, get her out of the kennel and give her the loving home she deserves. Penny needs a quiet, adult only home. Penny is not reactive to other dogs, but would be best suited as an only dog. Penny is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you meet these requirements and are the kind of person who wants to make a difference in a dogs life, please consider adopting Penny! Our adoption application can be found on our website at Rescueridge.com.  Penny is located in Monmouth County, NJ Fri, Dec 5, 4:47&#226&#128&#175PM (14 hours ago)                     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 7, 2026, 4:15 pm

Story
Elsa is a beautiful Cane Corso–type girl around 4 years old, possibly younger, with the gentlest soul. She came to us underweight and having clearly been through a lot, yet she is calm, affectionate, and so grateful for every bit of love she receives. She’s safe in boarding, but would absolutely blossom in a foster or forever home where she can relax, feel secure, and be spoiled like she deserves. She seems to be dog friendly, with cats unknown. Elsa is up to date on vaccines and will be scheduled with our vet for spay surgery. All she’s missing now is a soft bed, kind humans, and her happy ending. If interested, please apply at pittiesandpals.com. Many other dogs need our help, please consider donating or sponsoring a dog, if possible. 100% of all money received from adoption fees and donations goes directly back to support saving other dogs through Pitties and Pals Rescue. Pitties and Pals is a 501c(3) non-profit and we are 100 percent volunteer based. Please consider donating. We appreciate your support. Visit pittiesandpals.com.

Story
Meet sweet Michaela (ACCT-A-237403)! This senior lady was surrendered to the shelter along with her sister, Bella (ACCT-A-237402), when their owner's health declined and he could no longer care for them. The owner recommended that Michaela and Bella stay together. Michaela is about 70lb and 9 years old. In the shelter, Michaela has been goofy and snuggly! She loves pets and attention and follows her sister around for comfort. She's had a good dog meet and, per her owner surrender notes, is "Great with children, good with strangers, okay with cats and dogs". She loves rope toys and treats and is already crate trained, housebroken, and knows some commands! Videos: Pets for Bella and Michaela: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rmNtDYgy3Uw Michaela and Snuggle R: https://youtu.be/XRE4EHoecx8?si=cGwfnxj6b-AEvjrb Michaela and Snuggle R: https://youtu.be/HSovzG7QUsM?si=98yJ72yw2uD4QezX Behavior: Behavior eval 11/22/2025 Kennel Presentation: Stood at the front of her kennel with soft eyes and a loose body, low wagging tail. Took a treat gently through the kennel. Leash Skills: Easy to leash and walk out through the adoption lobby. Minimal pulling, went to the bathroom when outside. Sociability: Social with handler, soliciting attention and allowing handling all over. In the volunteer office, she and her sister went from person to person asking for treats and pets. Michaela was not as jumpy as Bella, asking for treats more gently. She remained loose and wiggly, loving pets all over and leaning in. Play: N/A Dog Interaction: Very comfortable with her sister. Loose body and followed each other around. When Bella reacted to another dog from afar, Michaela seemed to follow her lead a bit (barking toward the dog), but her reaction was smaller (no hackles or pulling) and she calmed down more quickly. Return to Kennel: Stopped briefly outside of her kennel, walked right in with a treat scatter. Easy to unleash Color Level: Gold Recommendations and considerations: Per owner 11/20/25 (Surrendered after 9 years along with Bella due to owner's health problems): The owner recommended that both dogs stay together. Fully housebroken, crate trained, medium energy, knows commands: yes, sit, lay down. Enjoys rope toys. Great with children, good with strangers, okay with cats and dogs. Owner recommended a "good family" ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. Meet beautiful Bella! Bella was surrendered to the shelter with her sister Michaela when their owner experienced health issues and could no longer care for them. These sweet girls have become shelter favorites with their goofy antics and gentle personalities. They are both sweet, tolerant, and great with handlers! These girls are looking for a safe place to live out their golden years after losing their home of 9 years. Meet Bella at ACCT Philly any day from 10am-6pm! She gently tried to push out with her head when I approached and then easily allowed me to leash. She’s quite gentle even though she’s a big girl! Showed me that she knows. Very social and solicited pets from new handlers in the volunteer office. A little jumpy at times as she solicits attention. Gentle with taking food and no issues returning to kennel or unleashing Behavior eval 11/22/2025 Kennel Presentation: Bella met me at the front of her kennel with soft eyes and a low, wagging tail. She stood patiently waiting to be leashed Leash Skills: Minimal to no pulling. Walks nicely on leash, went to the bathroom quickly upon getting outside. Sociability: Sniffed around outside, soliciting some attention briefly from handler. Once we got into the vol office, she was very social with handlers, jumping up for treats and pets and remaining loose and wiggly. Play: N/A Dog Interaction: Great with her sister (loose and comfortable with each other). While outside, we saw another dog from afar and Bella got full back hackles, hard barking and pulling hard toward the dog until we were out of sight. Return to Kennel: Walked right in, no issues unleashing Color Level: Gold Recommendations and considerations: Per owner 11/20/25 (Surrendered after 9 years along with Michaela due to owner's health problems): The owner recommended that both dogs stay together.
