Story

Tank is an amazing dog. He is 5 years old. Pure Bred with papers. True to the breed, he is a guardian and protector of his family. He is not mean or vicious at all but is a true watch dog. I purchased him from an Amish Breeder in PA as a support dog after losing my mother during the height of the pandemic. I researched this breed because of their protective, but yet loving qualities. Because I had nothing but time during the lockdown, I spent everyday training him. He is almost military trained and is highly intelligent. No additional training is needed. He is a big lap dog that loves to play and literally spend every moment with his family. It pains me to have to re-home him, but I am recently divorced and cannot bring him with me. He will do well with a loving family that wants to spoil him. He loves the outdoors but is comfortable being wherever you are. He loves my son. They grew up together. I (we) will miss him greatly! :-(

Beautiful lady DIDI is finally ready for her forever home! Didi is a 3 year old cane Corso mix and weighs 75 lbs. Prior to being surrendered to the city shelter, Didi came from a busy home, filled with children and dogs - where they were most likely a "backyard breeder" and after a litter or two, felt they no longer needed her. Yet another discarded mother at the overcrowded shelter Didi acted a little strange (reason to be revealed) and ended up on the euthanasia list. Luckily, a kind foster saw her and opened up their heart & home to Didi to see her life....but not only one life was saved that day. Didi's strange behavior was explained when 2 weeks later, her foster woke up to Didi...and 2 newborn puppies! Didi was a good mother to her babies, who quickly got adopted. Now this sweet mama is ready for a forever home of her own!! Didi loves being outside, playing in the yard and is crate trained. She bonds very deeply to her people, often seeking affection, and is happy to simply be by their side. She is a happy, lotal companion. As you can see, she is absolutely gorgeous! Didi is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and ready for a life time of love! Zeus is an 8 year old cane corso mix and weighs 108 lbs. He gets along with other dogs, kids and strangers, but has no experience with cats. In this big frame is a deeply sensitive soul who has so much love to give. Zeus lost the only home he’s ever known when his owner faced serious medical challenges, and he was heartbreakingly surrendered to the shelter. By July 2025, Zeus found himself at risk for euthanasia. Thankfully, Zeus was rescued, but his journey hasn’t been easy. His foster recently fell through, and he is now in a boarding facility in northern NJ. While the staff are kind, boarding is no place for a senior dog who just wants a cozy couch, a soft bed, and someone to love him. Zeus truly is a gem. He’s affectionate, gentle, and full of life. When he’s happy, he doesn’t act like a senior at all and will even burst into joyful zoomies, especially in the snow. He previously and harmoniously lived with a 5-year-old child, and he gets along with other dogs with slow, proper introductions. Zeus desperately needs a foster or adopter who can give him the comfort and stability he deserves. He has so much love left to give and will make his person incredibly happy. Meet sweet Michaela (ACCT-A-237403)! This senior lady was surrendered to the shelter along with her sister, Bella (ACCT-A-237402), when their owner's health declined and he could no longer care for them. The owner recommended that Michaela and Bella stay together. Michaela is about 70lb and 9 years old. In the shelter, Michaela has been goofy and snuggly! She loves pets and attention and follows her sister around for comfort. She's had a good dog meet and, per her owner surrender notes, is "Great with children, good with strangers, okay with cats and dogs". She loves rope toys and treats and is already crate trained, housebroken, and knows some commands! Sociability: Social with handler, soliciting attention and allowing handling all over. In the volunteer office, she and her sister went from person to person asking for treats and pets. Michaela was not as jumpy as Bella, asking for treats more gently. She remained loose and wiggly, loving pets all over and leaning in. Play: N/A Dog Interaction: Very comfortable with her sister. Loose body and followed each other around. When Bella reacted to another dog from afar, Michaela seemed to follow her lead a bit (barking toward the dog), but her reaction was smaller (no hackles or pulling) and she calmed down more quickly. Return to Kennel: Stopped briefly outside of her kennel, walked right in with a treat scatter. Easy to unleash Color Level: Gold Recommendations and considerations: Per owner 11/20/25 (Surrendered after 9 years along with Bella due to owner's health problems): The owner recommended that both dogs stay together. Fully housebroken, crate trained, medium energy, knows commands: yes, sit, lay down. Enjoys rope toys. Great with children, good with strangers, okay with cats and dogs.
