Story
Ivy, formerly known as Skylar, is a silver bouncy velveteen hippo goddess with striking Tahoe blue eyes. Born in December, this Cane Corso Neapolitan mastiff is a true Sagittarius. Her curiosity is boundless and her optimism infectious. This 6-month-old 60 lb rock star is your future soul mate from the stars. Ivy loves her canine and feline foster siblings. In fact, she loves that cat so much that she tries to impersonate him by playing with his tiny toys. Also known as the collector, she uses her impressive jowls to gather all the dog toys in her mouth and prance around the home with them. She finds toys irresistible, and who can blame her- she's just a big baby! Of course, she loves to play with her siblings as well, but her toys are a little more tolerant of her clumsy antics than her dog and cat siblings. Ivy also loves cuddling with anyone that will indulge her- cat, dog, human. She knows basic commands and obedience, such as sit, down, come, SPIN, and stay. Very impressive for such a young girl. In addition to these academic accolades, Ivy is an eager dog puzzle enthusiast and highly food- and treat-motivated. Ivy’s ideal family would be one that will continue to nurture her and understands guardian breeds. She had a traumatic start to life- bred in a backyard breeding ring, purchased, under socialized, kept in a crate, and neglected- although the owner did love her as best she could. In her foster home, the endless love, patience, and guidance her foster parents and siblings provided allowed Ivy to blossom. However, city life is too much for beautiful Ivy. She would thrive in a home that can show her the world is not so terrifying. New people and animals scare her. She does not realize she is 60 lbs of super soft fabulous power. Ivy believes she is a 10 lb dog with the heart of a survivor- filled and ready to love. Ivy loves people, but might be too much for little humans at this time. She would love to be in an adult home or one with older children. Story
Meet Cora, a stunning young Cane Corso girl who is still very much a baby at just around 10 months old and 61 lbs. She arrived at a local shelter as a stray, underweight and needing care. Despite her size, Cora has a soft, thoughtful presence. At the shelter, she was even trusted as a greeter dog, calmly meeting new dogs and helping welcome them in with her easygoing, polite demeanor. Cora is currently in a temporary foster, but she needs her next home urgently. She enjoys other dogs, especially those who are comfortable with her playful energy and don’t mind her large puppy enthusiasm at her size. She would do best with dog companions who are confident and tolerant as she continues to learn her manners. She will be spayed once she gains a bit more weight and is in a healthier place physically. Cora is truly just beginning her journey and is looking for a foster or adopter who can help her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. ##2763107##

Story
Beautiful lady DIDI is finally ready for her forever home! Didi is a 3 year old cane Corso mix and weighs 75 lbs. Prior to being surrendered to the city shelter, Didi came from a busy home, filled with children and dogs - where they were most likely a "backyard breeder" and after a litter or two, felt they no longer needed her. Yet another discarded mother at the overcrowded shelter Didi acted a little strange (reason to be revealed) and ended up on the euthanasia list. Luckily, a kind foster saw her and opened up their heart & home to Didi to see her life....but not only one life was saved that day. Didi's strange behavior was explained when 2 weeks later, her foster woke up to Didi...and 2 newborn puppies! Didi was a good mother to her babies, who quickly got adopted. Now this sweet mama is ready for a forever home of her own!! Didi loves being outside, playing in the yard and is crate trained. She bonds very deeply to her people, often seeking affection, and is happy to simply be by their side. She is a happy, lotal companion. As you can see, she is absolutely gorgeous! Didi is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and ready for a life time of love! If you can open your heart & home to pretty Didi, please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Didi at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Story
Zeus is an 8 year old cane corso mix and weighs 108 lbs. He gets along with other dogs, kids and strangers, but has no experience with cats. In this big frame is a deeply sensitive soul who has so much love to give. Zeus lost the only home he’s ever known when his owner faced serious medical challenges, and he was heartbreakingly surrendered to the shelter. By July 2025, Zeus found himself at risk for euthanasia. Thankfully, Zeus was rescued, but his journey hasn’t been easy. His foster recently fell through, and he is now in a boarding facility in northern NJ. While the staff are kind, boarding is no place for a senior dog who just wants a cozy couch, a soft bed, and someone to love him. Zeus truly is a gem. He’s affectionate, gentle, and full of life. When he’s happy, he doesn’t act like a senior at all and will even burst into joyful zoomies, especially in the snow. He previously and harmoniously lived with a 5-year-old child, and he gets along with other dogs with slow, proper introductions. Zeus desperately needs a foster or adopter who can give him the comfort and stability he deserves. He has so much love left to give and will make his person incredibly happy. Please consider fostering Zeus. This big, sweet boy deserves a soft place to land. 🐾 He is currently located near Hamilton, NJ. Transportation provided for approved fosters and adopters. 📞 917-689-8414 💌 info@amsterdog.org Apply at AmsterDog.org
