Sasha is a sweet female Mastiff mix, 69 lbs and about 1½ years old, who is looking for a safe place to land. She was found as a stray and is believed to have possibly been hit by a car. A veterinary exam showed no broken bones, which is great news, but she is still being monitored for any possible after effects.Sasha is a bit timid at first, which is understandable given what she has likely been through. With a slow approach and a calm, gentle greeting, she begins to relax and show her softer side. She walks well on a leash and seems to appreciate quiet reassurance.As we spend more time getting to know Sasha, we will continue to share updates about her personality and needs. Bear is 5 years old and as his name suggests, he is a big teddy bear. He is a gentle giant and is good with other dogs and people of all ages. Bear is house and crate trained, and relies on his family to give him basic commands, which he loves to follow to please and show he is a good boy. He is chill when needed, but also playful with his favorite toys. Bear loves to get rubs and loves being with his favorite people. On Feb 08, 2024, Beauty was found wandering all alone in Sweetwater, TN near the dump by a Good Samaritan who posted on Facebook in a lost and found group but no one came forward to claim her. :( Our animal control officer, reached out to us for help with this situation and connected us with the finder. At the time, the Monroe County shelter was over capacity and euthanizing on intake. When she arrived at woofwoof fosters it appeared something strange was going on with her eyes. Turns out, she had a condition called Entropion which caused her eyelashes/eyelids to grow inwards! We scheduled her for surgery ASAP as this can lead to blindness if left untreated! Beauty has since recovered from surgery and is now ready for adoption! We have dog tested Beauty at our dog trainers place in Athens, TN and found out that she is good with non-reactive dogs ( we have been pairing her up with non- reactive dogs at our rescue for play) .She would do best in a home without young children as she has a LOT of energy, young kids could unknowingly get in her way. She loves to run and play and will require mental stimulation in her new home as well as frequent physical stimulation. We think some simple scent trail training or possibly snuffle mats may help meet her needs as she has a curious snout! Her most favorite toy is a tennis ball! if you have two, that would be great or else you WILL go through ALOT of them because she will chew them up right away! We are teaching her to bring it and leave it and wait for us to toss her second ball. sometimes, we will work with her on just one ball....but that is a lot more work vs having a second one ready haha! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application Foster or adopter. He is good with kids; he’s been around 13 and 15 yr old. Good with dogs! A cat recently passed away but he was good with her as well and also a bird.. He Is very friendly with everyone. He’s a little over a year old so he can be mouthy when playing but he’s never bit anyone. He would rather lay on the couch all day or play with his toys. We will be getting him neutered and cherry eyes fixed just need a foster or foster to adopt for right now. He is up to date on shots. If anyone can help in NJ area please reach out. Beautiful lady DIDI is finally ready for her forever home! Didi is a 3 year old cane Corso mix and weighs 75 lbs. Prior to being surrendered to the city shelter, Didi came from a busy home, filled with children and dogs - where they were most likely a "backyard breeder" and after a litter or two, felt they no longer needed her. Yet another discarded mother at the overcrowded shelter Didi acted a little strange (reason to be revealed) and ended up on the euthanasia list. Luckily, a kind foster saw her and opened up their heart & home to Didi to see her life....but not only one life was saved that day. Didi's strange behavior was explained when 2 weeks later, her foster woke up to Didi...and 2 newborn puppies! Didi was a good mother to her babies, who quickly got adopted. Now this sweet mama is ready for a forever home of her own!! Didi loves being outside, playing in the yard and is crate trained. She bonds very deeply to her people, often seeking affection, and is happy to simply be by their side. She is a happy, lotal companion. As you can see, she is absolutely gorgeous! Didi is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and ready for a life time of love!
