Zeke is one of three dogs, including his mother (Cane Corso), his father (American bully) and him, a Cane Corso bully mix. Zeke just turned three years old May 9 and has always been the most sweetest, lovable, big baby anyone could ask for. But him and his dad, the American bully, started getting into little fights over attention and toys. A few incidents happened right before Zeke had ACL surgery, now after that surgery, it was required that we were to keep him separate from the other two dogs for eight weeks while he recovered. He made a full recovery right before Christmas and we were excited to bring him back upstairs and back around the other dogs. Unfortunately, upon reintroduction the fighting between him and our other male got worse. He still is fine around them most of time but the fights are too unpredictable. He is great with kids and cats and even our chickens!! Would do best with no other big dogs though.

My name is Jim Kuhn and I live in Sagamore Hills, Ohio (Summit County). I’m reaching out for your advice or assistance with rehoming my 7-year-old Cane Corso, Ellie, whom we adopted from City Dogs/Cleveland Kennel in August 2022. Ellie is a spayed female, about 120 pounds, very healthy for her age, and up-to-date on all veterinary care. She’s affectionate and gentle with people, house-trained, and settles well indoors with toys, beds, and her crate (all of which can come with her). Unfortunately, I was recently diagnosed with leukemia at Cleveland Clinic, and I’m losing the physical ability to provide her two daily 30-minute walks. My wife Edie cannot safely handle Ellie’s size and strength on her own. Ellie also has a strong prey drive toward small dogs (like those wandering near our property in Greenwood Village, Sagamore Hills), so she needs a home with no small dogs (and ideally no cats), an experienced large-breed/guardian-breed owner, and a physically capable adult.

I’m a little shy when I meet new friends, but once I know you, I’m all cuddles, kisses, and snuggles. I love to stay close to my people and give lots of love. I have a best buddy named Robbie. He’s a Rottie, and we have so much fun playing together and just chilling side by side. I get along with other dogs too, but I’m still learning about new things and big adventures, so a calm home without little kids would make me happiest. I originally adopted Zeus from the Cleveland APL, he is 2 years old almost 3, he was originally going to get euthanized due to his stranger danger progressing but I was able to give him a home at the time and help him get better. He is good with a muzzle as I have been working on muzzle training with him, he is good with other dogs small and large but doesn’t realize his size so would do best in a larger dog sized household. He is nervous of children so would do best in a home without kids, he needs a lot of space and someone who can give him the attention and time he needs.
