Imani had a lot of feelings when she first got to the kennel, having been abandoned in her home without food or water, resorting to eating trash and blankets out of hunger. She was angry and upset, and she initially didn`t want to have anything to do with us. But with regular meals and some TLC, that quickly changed, and this lady stopped her yelling and started doling out hugs instead. Imani quickly revealed herself to be a super sweet and affectionate snuggler, practically melting into you at every opportunity. When she sees someone she loves, she has some of the most enthusiastic butt-wiggles in town. Our vet techs immediately recognized that she`s also a smarty-pants and eager to please — she knows sit and paw and down and will cycle through them for cookies; she also appears to be housebroken. Although she can be a little reserved when first meeting new people, once she warms up, she is all gangly happy limbs and goofiness. She loves toys, proudly carrying them with her on walks, and she`s great at self-entertaining. She also loves snow and giant chunks of ice which she will happily skate around on with her front legs. She can be a little unsure around dogs, which likely just comes from a lack of exposure — her attempts at engaging with them can be a little... `socially awkward` as a result. But with regular exposure at the kennel, she seems to be learning that maybe they aren`t that bad after all!This `delightful weirdo` and amazing hugger is only around a year old and now weighs about 60 lbs. At 82 lbs, Garbanzo is no tiny little chickpea. This big boy came into the kennel a bit scared and timid but he is slowly coming out of his shell, and although he still has his skittish moments, having other dogs around seems to be helping him blossom into a giant silly goober. When he got to interact in the same yard with other dogs for his dog-assessment, he was very puppyish (despite his size) and social, and as he spends more time here at the kennel, it`s clear that they really brighten up his day. Garbanzo is an active boy (no surprise given his size) and when given the choice between going for a walk on-leash or running around the play-yard, Garbanzo`s clear choice is being able to stretch those gangly legs running around and playing with toys and zooming it up with zoomies in the yard, even moreso when there`s snow on the ground (this guy is one giant snow bunny). He can be a bit more reserved and skittish on walks, so ideally, this boy would love a home with a big backyard that he can run around in. All signs point to him being housebroken, and he`s been noted as being gentle with both treats and toys. He`s also shown himself to be an affectionate cuddle-monster and loves to lean into you and snuggle you up. Garbanzo is around 2 years old and weighs around 82 lbs. Story

Zeke is one of three dogs, including his mother (Cane Corso), his father (American bully) and him, a Cane Corso bully mix. Zeke just turned three years old May 9 and has always been the most sweetest, lovable, big baby anyone could ask for. But him and his dad, the American bully, started getting into little fights over attention and toys. A few incidents happened right before Zeke had ACL surgery, now after that surgery, it was required that we were to keep him separate from the other two dogs for eight weeks while he recovered. He made a full recovery right before Christmas and we were excited to bring him back upstairs and back around the other dogs. Unfortunately, upon reintroduction the fighting between him and our other male got worse. He still is fine around them most of time but the fights are too unpredictable. He is great with kids and cats and even our chickens!! Would do best with no other big dogs though.
