Story
She is a unique dog, beautiful but very difficult with other animals unpredictable and food aggressive with kids and dogs alike. Great on trails while in a leash and running. One on one, she's fine but couldn't nor wouldn't put her with her pets.

Story
A5767206 Say hello to Moon , a 1.5-year-old Carolina Dog  mix with a soft, creamy white coat kissed with the lightest touch of tan - like a marshmallow barely toasted by a gentle flame. This darling girl is feeling overwhelmed in the busy shelter environment and is looking for a calm, patient home where she can slowly decompress and build confidence. Moon clearly wants to bond deeply with her person, she just needs someone willing to move at her pace and give her the time and space she deserves. Once she begins to feel safe, her sweet nature shines through - she’ll accept pets and even start to seek out affection. With love, patience, and understanding, Moon has all the potential to blossom into an incredibly devoted companion. This tender-hearted girl is ready to shine bright - she just needs someone to believe in her. Will that be you?      -1 year 9 month old tan and white Carolina Dog  mix  -37 pound female - will need to be spayed before adoption, but the shelter can likely help with this! -may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before she can go home with you, but the shelter can help with this too -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 4/3/26 as an owner surrender due to “cost” -needs confidence building with a slow and patient adopter that can provide a calm and quiet home  -once she warms up, she’s very loving! -full of potential, just needs a bit of extra gentleness and kindness   MOON’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/bw For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @jsumphotography  Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER. Story
Jeff is a really good boy and it pains me to let go of him. However, he is a relatively big dog (65lbs) with a lot of energy and needs a home with more space than what I can offer. He is a rescue pup and has a little anxiety around strangers, but warms up to everyone quickly after meeting them. He's great with other dogs, super smart, loyal and very good at following to commands.

Story
Meet Charro Breed: Carolina Dog / Pit Bull mix Sex: Male Birthday: 7/25/2020 Weight: 55 pounds Health: Healthy and neutered Personality Charro is a friendly, playful, and deeply affectionate boy. He loves attention, playtime, and being around people. He’s got a soft side too — happy to curl up next to you after a game of fetch or a long walk. He’s social, loving, and always eager to connect. Why Charro Would Be a Great Adoption Choice Charro has a big heart and a strong desire to be part of a family. His playful and gentle spirit makes him great for an active home with time for affection and structure. He’s a people-focused dog who thrives on interaction and love. Breed Info The Carolina Dog is known for being intelligent, clean, and pack-oriented. Pit Bulls are loyal, athletic, and affectionate. This mix results in a dog that is both emotionally in-tune and physically active — a smart, loving dog who bonds deeply with his family. Owner Responsibilities Provide consistent playtime, training, and affection Feed a quality diet and maintain regular vet care Offer structure, guidance, and lots of attention Make time for walks, games, and cuddle sessions &#226&#157&#151Things to Consider  Will you allow time for your new dog to adjust to their new environment, routine, and family? Can you afford the financial responsibility of a dog — including food, vet care, preventatives, and grooming? Does your housing allow dogs, and are there any breed or size restrictions? Does anyone in your household have allergies to pets? Do you have the time, energy, and commitment to provide daily care, exercise, and affection for the next 10–15 years? These dogs are not to be chained or left outside. Each one deserves to live indoors with love, safety, and companionship. Commitment for Life Charro needs more than just a place to sleep — he needs someone to love him for life. He’ll be your shadow, your cheerleader, and your cuddle buddy. He’s looking for a forever home, not a temporary stop. Make him part of your life, and he’ll give you all of his.
