Story
#A5791902 Ginger   is a 2-year-old, 50 lb spayed female Carolina Dog mix, possibly with some Cattle Dog, with a beautiful soft golden coat. Ginger came in as a stray and spent part of her shelter stay being a devoted nursing mama, protecting and caring for her puppies. Now that her babies no longer need her, it's finally Ginger's turn to be cared for. The shelter has been overwhelming, and Ginger can be fearful and shut down. She needs a calm, patient adopter who will give her time to decompress and build confidence. She walks nicely on leash and seems to have had some training already. After giving so much to her puppies, this sweet mama deserves a peaceful home of her own. -2 years old, spayed female, 50 lbs -Carolina Dog mix -Former nursing mama -Sweet but fearful in the shelter -Walks well on leash -Needs confidence building -Adults-only, only-dog home -Ready for her turn to be loved   GINGER’S VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/x4q2K-g_yTs For more information, contact volunteer Karen at karenklink94@hotmail.com Photo Credit: Rafael Diaz   ---- Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER. Story
Jeff is a really good boy and it pains me to let go of him. However, he is a relatively big dog (65lbs) with a lot of energy and needs a home with more space than what I can offer. He is a rescue pup and has a little anxiety around strangers, but warms up to everyone quickly after meeting them. He's great with other dogs, super smart, loyal and very good at following to commands.

Story
Meet Tin Tin Calm, Social, and Always Happy to Go for a Walk Breed: Carolina Dog Canaan Mix Gender: Male | Age: 09/12/2023 | Weight/Size: 44 lbs Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown — has not lived or interacted directly with cats Personality: ❤️ Loving | Social | Calm | Loves Leash Walks Medical: ✔️ Neutered | ✔️ Vaccinations Up to Date | Previous Leg Injury Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Tin Tin’s Story Tin Tin is a handsome 3-year-old Carolina Dog / Canaan Dog mix weighing approximately 44 pounds. He is a wonderfully calm, loving, and social boy who enjoys being around people and gets along well with other dogs. Tin Tin has not had direct interaction with cats, so his compatibility with them is currently unknown. One of Tin Tin's favorite activities is going for walks on a leash. He has a relaxed personality but genuinely enjoys getting outside, exploring, and spending time with his people. He could be a wonderful match for someone looking for a companion who enjoys daily walks without being described as overwhelmingly high-energy. When Tin Tin was rescued, one of his legs was injured. Unfortunately, no one knew exactly what had happened to him before his rescue. He was given rest and time to recover. His future family should share this history with their veterinarian and continue monitoring the leg for any signs of discomfort or changes in mobility. As a Carolina Dog / Canaan Dog mix, Tin Tin may share traits associated with these intelligent, alert, athletic, and loyal breeds. They can form strong relationships with their families and benefit from consistency, positive-reinforcement training, regular exercise, and opportunities to use their minds. Tin Tin would thrive with a family that gives him companionship, regular walks, enrichment, structure, affection, and plenty of opportunities to be part of everyday family life. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Tin Tin already enjoys walking on a leash, which is a wonderful activity for his future family to continue. Like any rescue dog entering a new environment, he will still need time to learn his family's schedule, expectations, and household rules. Rescue dogs may have basic training at best, so adopters should continue reinforcing leash manners, basic commands, recall, and household boundaries through positive-reinforcement training. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand his new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home Even a social, easygoing dog deserves the opportunity to adjust at his own pace. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Tin Tin is neutered and current on his vaccinations. Because he arrived at rescue with an injured leg of unknown origin, his adopter should make sure his veterinarian is aware of that history. If limping, discomfort, swelling, stiffness, reluctance to exercise, or other mobility changes appear, he should receive veterinary evaluation rather than simply being placed on rest again. His family should continue providing routine wellness exams, recommended vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, regular grooming, appropriate exercise, and veterinary treatment whenever needed. Keeping Tin Tin at a healthy weight is also especially beneficial for reducing unnecessary stress on his joints and previously injured leg. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Tin Tin, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Ozzie and Friends Rescue is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and helping them find safe, loving forever homes. While based in Southern California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Adopting Tin Tin means committing to his continued veterinary care, exercise, training, safety, companionship, and happiness for the rest of his life. Tin Tin has already made it through an uncertain past and an injured leg, but what stands out about him today is his gentle nature. He's calm, social, loving, and happiest when he gets to head out for a walk with someone by his side. Now he just needs that person to keep walking beside him—for good. October 10, 2026, 12:26 pm

Story
#A5801033 Meet Toni, a delightful 4-year-old Shiba Inu mix girl with a fluffy toasted-marshmallow coat in gorgeous shades of cream and tan, plus the most perfect little curly-Q tail! This beautiful girl has a bright, joyful, playful spirit and absolutely LOVES her tennis balls - she’ll happily play with you, but she’s also perfectly content entertaining herself when you’re busy. Toni can be a little possessive of her favorite toys, so she’d likely do best with older kids who can understand the rules and respect her boundaries around her prized possessions. While she may prefer not to share her toys, Toni seems perfectly happy to share her home with other calm dogs and got along well with canine friends at the shelter. ❤️ Bouncy, beautiful, and full of personality, Toni is ready to find a furever family who will appreciate all her wonderful Shiba quirks! Will that be with you?     -4 year old yellow and cream Shiba Inu mix -28.5 pound spayed female -may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before she can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with this! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 9/15/26 as a stray -fun loving and super playful, this sweet girl will keep you on your toes and endlessly entertained! -doesn’t like sharing her toys, so better suited to a home with respectful older kids and calm dogs willing to respect her boundaries -if you love quirky Shibas, Toni is the girl for you!   TONI’S VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ji657TqVzw4 For more information, contact volunteer Karen at karenklink94@hotmail.com Photo Credit: Rafael Diaz     ---- Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER. Story
Hi my name is Mac. My full name is Mac-Aroni. LOL. I am the sweetest most adorable dog. I am happy all the time. I get along with all the dogs at the foster home. I listen well. When the other dogs were scared I helped them feel welcome and taught them how to play. I walk nicely on a leash, sit when asked and love to play fetch. I am also big on kisses. My best friend at the foster home is Mama Bear the Rottweiler mix. We play so well together. I am hoping we can get adopted together, but adopting separate is ok too. Please check out our fun video to see how cute we are. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/Y1EHUonOwcI?ra=mMac Aroni. 1 1/2 y make Basenji Chihuahua mixNeutered, vaccinated, rabies, micro chippedwww.TheDogRescuers@gmail.com
