Story
Meet the intrepid Marco. Named for the explorer Marco Polo, this guy has exploration and discovery down to a science. Famous for exploring the entire veterinary office when he was first rescued, he is a favorite with the vet staff. Marco adores people and gets along with most cats once he knows them. He has a huge purr and loves snuggles and pets more than food. He is approximately 13 years old with mesmerizing ice-green eyes and a medium haired coat. He was very thin when first rescued and is starting to fill out now he has had regular food and a warm bed in which to sleep. We would love for him to have a senior to foster him. He would keep someone great company. He has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, is up to date on his shots, and already microchipped. He is a nice boy who interacts easily with both adults and cat-friendly children. Marco is an affection machine. He stands up to give your hand a head bunt, grabs your hand with both paws to let you know he doesn't want you to stop petting him, and he follows you around like a lost puppy. Simply a wonderful loving companion who will bring you much joy. Like a fine wine he has improved with age. Marco gets along with other cats too. If you would like to meet Marco, contact Shannon@sierrapacificfurbabies.com or 707-441-9502. An application, safety homecheck, landlord approval if renting, and adoption fee of $90 is required for adoption. Discount available to seniors, military/veterans, and on disability. He is a real sweetheart. Come meet him and decide for yourself.

Story
This was his tale 5 years ago. He has now been returned by his adopter. While we do not agree with the adopter's reasons, we took our sweet boy back. The adopter feels he must be a single cat, that he is aggressive to other cats. We still continue to find him submissive, so do not know what to think. Nevertheless, he is has had his home of five years ripped away and is feeling it. If you have heart for a needy and loyal cat, please give this boy a chance. Since he has been with us we see no aggression at all. He is friendly, sweet, and chatty. He enjoys cat trees, his food, and being your keyboarding assistant. He has made an excellent adjustment over just a few weeks. He seems happier. His original story: "Meet Moondoggie, a teen kitten with a very hard luck tale. This boy is special and will need a special and loving home - with at least one other kitty who will be accepting and kind. Moondoggie is submissive and just wants to be accepted by other cats. He was an intercept - which means someone was bringing an underage kitten to the shelter. In CA underage kittens must be out of the shelter before close of business or they will be euthanized. He came in with his sister, Gidget. They were 4 weeks old. Moondoggie was terrified. To complicate matters, they were diagnosed with ringworm, which made it difficult to show them the affection they needed. Gidget was not fearful but Moondoggie was. Gidget had one ringworm lesion, Moondoggie was covered in them. Gidget recovered and was adopted. Moondoggie's treatment dragged on and on. He is now about a year old, small for his age, and completely healed from ringworm - but he is very timid and fearful. He has bonded with his foster and trusts her completely. In new situations he is very fearful, so it will take time and a structured introduction to a household for him to settle in. He is worth it though. He is very sweet with his foster. He likes to lay beside her and loves his back gently scratched. Moondoggie has stunning orange-gold eyes and sleek thick coal-black fur. He has stolen his foster's heart and will steal a patient adopter's also. He must be indoor-only. He would never survive out of doors. We are looking for a special person who can wait for his trust. For the right adopter, the adoption fee is negotiable. We do require an application, safety home check, and landlord approval if renting. Moondoggie has been neutered, is up to date on his shots, is microchipped and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. Contact us ONLY if you have a truly patient spirit and want to help one of the least likely to find a home. He is so sweet and loving, never rejects affections, and seeks it out." He is healthy and has had recent vetting, including dental work. Just a little overweight which we see in cats who have been fed exclusively dry food. He is enjoying access to canned food in place of the dry. He needs a home with a cat pal who is not territorial.

Story
Astra is an enigma. We have concluded she is either semi-feral or exceptionally moody. . Astra enjoys watching what people are doing, likes head and chin scratches when SHE wants them, and rubbing legs of people she is comfortable with. However, there are times she wants to slap people and we have been unable to predict the why and when. Due to severe dental disease all of her teeth were removed so she cannot bite and must eat a soft diet or kitten sized kibble she can swallow whole. She is most definitely not a cat for kids. She is independent and although she can tolerate an occasional cat or two she can be just as cranky to them as she is to people. She will not be a pet per se, but does not run and hide from people either.. She has no experience with dogs. Astra has been spayed, is up to date on her shots, has tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and has been microchipped. She has been deflead and dewormed. An application, landlord approval if renting, a safety homecheck, and adoption fee are required. Discount to seniors, military/veterans, and with proof of disability. Are you the special someone who can give our little momma the home she needs and deserves? She is ripe to bond with an experienced cat-person or two and enjoy the life of a housecat instead of foraging for scraps of food.

Story
Sweet little Clooney is a slim teen kitten just a little over a year old. She came from a trailer park where someone had abandoned her. At first she was very scared, and is still a little shy, but she loves who she loves. Once she knows someone is going to be a friend to her she will come running to you when she hears her name. She loves to be petted and will arch her back into your hand, purring away. Her marking are cute and her eyes are ever-so-slightly crossed, giving her an earnest charm. Clooney would love to be the one and only in someone's life. She is a good companion to curl up with on a rainy night or watch the sunrise with while drinking morning coffee. We suspect she would make an ideal friend for a cat-loving pre-teen. Clooney can be pre-adopted as she needs her vaccines updated and to be tested for FeLV/FIV. Her original owner had her spayed, so once she gets her booster shots she will be ready to go. An application, landlord approval if renting, virtual safety homecheck, and adoption fee are required. Discount to adopters of multiples, seniors, military/veterans, and with proof of disability. Personality traits Gentle, Affectionate, Quiet, Sweet, Purry, Cute, Friendly, Shy

Story
This dapper gentleman in his tux and domino is the intrepid and smart Adlai, named after a former Vice President of the USA. Adlai is pretty laid back and gets along with other cats, but is living in a foster home with MANY other cats and would like to be the one and only or have one special kitty pal. He is often overwhelmed by, in his opinion, too much hubbub. Adlai would like some down time. He is really a sweetheart with people. Addy has a cute voice when he talks...and he is very chatty. He carries on a conversation complete with turn-taking. So cute! Adlai makes quivering air biscuits when he is happy to see you and is a total attention hog. A nice purr when petted. Loves to follow to his wet food breakfast “spot”. Loves cats trees. Doesn’t love this many cats. Or the dog. But is ok, just not a fan. The Orphanage would be a lot on any former house cat. But wow does he LOVE watching birds from the windows. He goes crazy! Easily one of the top ten most loving cats we have had pass through the rescue. He is just such a charmer. Addy has been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, deflead, dewormed, and is up to date on his shots. He is litter box trained.. An application, safety homecheck, landlord approval if renting, and an adoption fee are required. Contact Shannon at 760-717-8417 via text if you are interested in our debonair statesman and avid bird watcher.

Story
Friskey is a petite fluffball with gorgeous eyes and non-stop social conversation. She has a variety of chirps, mews, trills and calls and will answer you each time you speak directly to her. She is a little hand-shy in the beginning but she loves pets once comfortable and will arch her back into you hand just to get one. Friskey has a lot of energy and is very playful with other friendly cats. Currently she has three "boyfriends" who are her best pals and she gets along ok with another small female. Friskey has been known to barrel down a hallway at high speed and crash into a closing door if she doesn't want you to get away. She loves to rub against your legs and asks nicely for you to pet her. Friskey would do best in a house with another slightly older male cat, no young kids, and lots of windows to look out. She is an indoor only cat. She has been spayed, microchippled, deflead, dewormed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and had her annual shots. An application, landlord approval if renting, virtual safety homecheck, and an adoption fee are required. Discount to seniors, military/veterans, and with proof of disability.
