Story
Name: PeteAge: 3 yearsGender: MaleBreed: Domestic ShorthairPersonality: Meet Pete Meet Pete, a 3-year-old sweetheart who’s still learning how to navigate this big, noisy world. Right now at the shelter, he’s feeling a little shy and prefers the comfort of his hidey spot. But please… don’t let that fool you. Before coming to us, Pete spent time around a kind woman’s home, and she told us he was the sweetest boy. He would confidently walk right up to her, flop over to show his belly, and happily loaf in her lap like he had always belonged there. ?? He has such a gentle, affectionate nature—he just needs the right environment to let it shine again.Shelter life can be overwhelming for sensitive souls like Pete. All the new sounds and activity make him tuck himself away for now. But underneath that timid exterior is a loving lap cat who simply needs a calm, patient home to feel safe. Once he trusts you, he’ll give you his whole heart. If you have a quiet space and a little patience, Pete will blossom back into the cuddly companion we know he is.Health: Pete is FIV/FeLV negative, neutered, and up-to-date on all vaccinations.Adoption Fee: Pete’s adoption fee is $20, not including applicable licensing fees.Contact Us: If you`re interested in him, please contact the New Albany Animal Shelter at 812-948-5355 to schedule a meet-and-greet.Please complete the ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website, under the Public Forms tab; NOT the orange “Interested in this animal” Petango link.

Story
Name: TomAge: 12 yearsGender: MaleBreed: Domestic ShorthairPersonality: Meet Tom Meet Tom, a 12-year-old gentleman with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. This handsome senior boy is ready to spend his golden years exactly how they should be—curled up in a cozy home, soaking up love and gentle head scratches.Tom is an absolute sweetheart. He adores attention, leans right into pets, and is happiest when he’s loafed comfortably in your lap. He has that calm, comforting presence that only senior cats seem to master. If you’re looking for a quiet companion who just wants to love and be loved, Tom is your guy.Tom does have some medical needs. He must remain on a strict urinary care diet due to a history of urinary crystals. He also has some pancreatic issues and has been diagnosed with a grade 3/6 heart murmur. Because of this, he will need a dedicated adopter willing to keep up with his diet and provide regular veterinary care.Despite his medical challenges, Tom is full of love and so deserving of a peaceful, comfortable home. We have reduced his adoption fee because we truly want this sweet fella to live out his final years surrounded by warmth, stability, and affection—not in a shelter.Health: Tom is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and has been evaluated by a veterinarian. He requires a strict urinary care diet and ongoing monitoring for his pancreatic condition and heart murmur.Adoption Fee: PLEASE CALL US ABOUT HIS ADOPTION FEE.Contact Us: If you`re interested in giving Tom the comfortable forever home he deserves, please contact the New Albany Animal Shelter at 812-948-5355 to schedule a meet-and-greet.Please complete the ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website, under the Public Forms tab; NOT the orange “Interested in this animal” Petango link
