Story
Meet Frankie! She`s an affectionate and playful kitty who seizes every opportunity for love and pets. Once she settles into your lap, her purr engine starts running!Currently, Frankie is in a space by herself, as the presence of other furry friends overstimulated her a bit. With fewer cats and more space, we believe she will warm up to another cat, especially with the right introduction and patience. We believe she could also acclimate to a cat-friendly dog.If you`re looking for a lap cat with the most soothing purrs, Frankie is the girl for you!Our cat adoption fee is $110 and includes age appropriate vaccinations, preventatives, spay/neuter, and their microchip. You can fill out our adoption questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1, or you can stop by our shelter during our open hours of 1pm-4pm Tuesday-Saturday.

Story
Maple’s story is one of the sweetest transformations you’ll ever see. When she first arrived, she was so scared, but the moment she realized she was safe, she absolutely melted like butter. It was like watching a whole new cat emerge…even her eyes softened and changed, now glowing with a calm, trusting warmth that feels almost heavenly.Today, Maple is incredibly affectionate and deeply connected to her people. She has the cutest little bird-like chirps. She’s the kind of companion who bonds hard and fast, giving total “soulmate cat” vibes and always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing.Maple can be a tiny bit of a diva when it comes to new cats or unfamiliar environments, but with a little time and reassurance, she settles in beautifully. Once she does, she becomes the ultimate emotional support pro—loving, loyal, and always there when you need her most.If you’re looking for a cat who will truly be there for you, Maple is your girl. Our cat adoption fee is $110 and includes their spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, age-appropriate vaccinations, and preventatives. You can find our adoption questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1 or stop in to meet all of our adoptable pets Tuesday–Saturday from 1pm–4pm. No appointment required!

Story
After being rescued from a flea infested and abandoned home with his 5 friends in 2024, Spook was adopted by his foster. Recently he came back to our shelter through no fault of his own after his owners developed severe allergies to him and his housemate Pillsbury (who came from the same situation). Spook spent quite a bit of time hiding with Pillsbury. But after a few days, he started coming out for loves. This guy is affectionate, mellow, and so handsome. He`s also quite cat friendly and has lived with dogs in the past. Spook is a little more shy than Pillsbury but once he`s used to his situation, he is a big love bug. Come meet him today at 2205 E. Washington St. Mt. Pleasant, IA. We are open to the public Tuesday-Saturday from 1PM-4PM and you can get a head start by filling out our adoption questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1.Our cat adoption fee is $110 and includes their spay/neuter, microchip, up to date vaccinations and preventatives.
